Wishing this place was not so far from central Capitol Hill and they opened later (probably owned by Tamari Bar, I get it.), because then I'd be coming back daily. It may be known for soft serve but there's so much variety. They even do lunch boxes!Though the "store" is just a takeout menu, you can sit on the patio of Tamari Bar. Their yuzu soft serve is one-of-a-kind and is a good balance of flavor if you're looking for something not too sweet. The soft serve itself is standard. I would love it more if it was Hokkaido milk!

I usually get off work at 3 and was headed to my dad's Friday so decided to have him swing by Baiten to grab dinner to go. I also had been craving the Kinako Rusk I had bought the first time i went there. Can't really think of any other place that makes Rusk in town. I also picked up one of their hpusemade yuzu sodas and a hojicha soft serve to go. We ate the soft serve in the car and dinner at dad's. Big thank you to the individual taking my order no rusks were bagged so they bagged four for me. The pieces were a little smaller and darker than last time but still just as tasty. My dad enjoyed the katsu curry. I had the Aloha Bento which had Chicken Karaage and poke was a perfect portion. Both were packed nicely napkins and utensils provided. I knew the curry would be good cause I had last year at their sister restaurant Rondo for a lunch special celebrating their anniversary I like that they offer the lunch specials at Baiten since I'm not often in the area during the evening. It is a window /door ordering though there are a few tables to eat at outside and I'm guessing may be able to use the Tamari Bar covered seating outside as well as the hot food is coming from their kitchen.

It's easy to walk by this spot, as it's a hole in the wall. The line can move slowly at times. They have milk soft serve with a variety of flavored syrups, mostly Asian - yuzu, matcha, hojicha, etc. You get a pretty generous serving! Outdoor seating and street parking only.Follow my Instagram and TikTok @thephotographerfoodie for more! :)

Baiten is a small Japanese dessert shop operating inside the Tamari Bar Restaurant. They mainly serve soft serve, but also have fruit sandwiches and small pastries. I ordered the yuzu soft serve and it was perfect! The soft serve was light and creamy and the yuzu drizzle was citrusy and tart adding a great contrast to the soft serve. To top off those magnificent flavors, they add a small macaroon for a textural change! I'd recommend Baiten to anyone looking for Japanese flavored desserts or pastries!Do note that there is not any eat in space so all orders will have to be to go!

We went to this little outdoor stand that is attached to a temari bar. We were confused at first to where it was since it is literally a small store built into a building. As it was very cold and wet in Seattle when we went, we did not come for the beautiful swirly ice cream that they mainly sell, but we were very much interested in the fruit cream sandwiches and a box of their chirashi! The fruit sandwiches were delicious! I would say tie back your hair ladies, because the cream oozes out with each bite and I definitely got some in my hair! But I loved the mild sweetness of the cream in balance with the sweetness and juiciness of the mixed fruit (kiwi, oranges), and strawberry sandwich. My partner ate his hours later and said the cream and fruit were still fresh and tasty. The woman working at the front was very nice and patient as we navigated the menu. And we decided to buy the chirashi, which we were not expecting to be on the menu as a dessert spot! But the chirashi was absolutely gorgeous in presentation and also very delicious! I would come back to get the chirashi on its own! The fish was super fresh and the uni was tasty! A wonderful find to end our trip.

Hands down--probably my favorite ice cream spot in Seattle. We got the black sesame Sunday and split it between 3 people. It was so good! I love that the ice cream has an extra milky flavor--but what I really enjoyed was all the fun textures that were hidden in the custard. Flavors were well balanced and not too sweet.

So cute! small hole in the wall spot and you should totally stop by for a sweet treat! Very rich in flavor and thick, I recommend the matcha one for a more mild taste and black seasme for a richer taste.

This was the perfect soft serve with unique flavors. I got a soft serve flight to share. It comes with a plain soft serve cup which was milky, the perfect amount of sweetness, and delicious. It came with 6 flavors of topping. My favorites were the matcha, yuzu, and soy which all balanced out the sweetness of the ice cream well. The restaurant is basically just a stand in the side of a building. It has a small standing/seating area outside.

Let's start with the matcha cream brulee - a masterpiece in its own right. From the moment you crack through that perfectly caramelized sugar crust to reveal the velvety custard beneath, you know you're in for a treat. Baiten's rendition of this classic dessert is nothing short of spectacular. The custard is impeccably smooth, with just the right balance of sweetness, and the crackling caramelized sugar on top adds a delightful contrast in texture. And then there's the soft serve - a true revelation. Baiten takes this childhood favorite to new heights with sampling innovative flavors and impeccable execution. The classic vanilla, matcha, and black sesame syrup are a taste sensation like no other. Each scoop is creamy and decadent, yet somehow light and refreshing at the same time. It's the perfect way to round off a meal after Tamari Bar , which is the Japanese restaurant next door
