This past weekend my husband & I celebrated 10 years together! Which is wild to think about. Over the past few years we have started to a really fun tradition of "collecting" experiences at Michelin Stared restaurants. While neither of us are particularly foody (I have a stomach condition so it makes the experiences extra interesting) but we love good ambiance & appreciate architecture and quality service. Bacchanalia recently received their first star and I have been wanting to experience this Atlanta institution since I was in high school. So I was VERY excited! The experience will consist of a 4 course menu. You'll have a few options to from for each course (I put a star next to what we chose in the photos) plus a bread course. As we were celebrating a special occasion, thy also gifted us a few extra special goodies in the form of a dessert, and a few extra goodies throughout the evening. A lot of comments I see on experience dining is that they leaving still hungry...and I promise you will be full when you leave. I was stuffed by the time we left. They balance the courses with a healthy starch addition (sides and breads) that supplement the selection you make. A particular stand out for us was the cheese course (3rd) and the crab (1st) Overall it was a phenomenal experience! 9/10! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. Had recommendations & pairings ready to go. It's a beautiful space (a little dark at night fair warning) and food was phenomenal. I recommend asking many questions as the menue isn't particularly detailed and you may be a bit surprised when your meal arrives if you don't! Would absolutely recommend! On a separate note, parking as super easy (especially for Atlanta) & free. Lots of space for a Friday night (though our reservation was early)

A very full experience, with lots of details to notice regarding food, service, and environment. I made the reservation several weeks in advance, but there seemed to have openings for several days before or even if you make it the day before. The inside is dimly lit throughout, and in a nice location with a giant window overlooking a lot of trees and greenery, which is on brand with Atlanta's "City in a Forest" vibe. Most of the indoor decor is made of wood, and that included the slab of wood that made up our table. There is no traditional tasting menu, but instead a prix fixe menu of $125 for 4 courses, and you'll still be required to choose the 4 courses. My date and I chose 2 different dishes for each course to maximize what we can try. What we were prepared for, was how many little dishes, snacks, and finger food that comes in between every course. We were extremely full by dessert/4th course, something very few Michelin star restaurants can achieve imo. There are too many different foods and dishes to describe individually, but I'll note some of the highlight worthy dishes. The beef tartare, with an interesting contrast in textures in the soft tangy raw beef eaten with the crisp that lies on top. The shrimp and the lobster with some seemingly Asian inspired flavors, such as what tastes like a mix of soy and fish sauce in the shrimp bao, and lemongrass with ginger, along with coconut, like a tom yum soup with bok choy with the lobster. There was also okra tempura, but the batter's a little thicker than regular Japanese tempura, and it was topped with an aioli/mayo based sauce, not sure if that was the intention but I think I still prefer the traditional thinner tempura batter. The dry aged steak was incredibly juicy, topped with marrow for that extra umami flavor. Served next to square bites of hash brown/tater tots, though it appears there are many variations of this dish depending on the day. My dish went great with the suggested wine pairing of a heavy Bordeaux red wine. The Valserena Parmigiano is one of their classics for their famous cheese course. There are slices of parmesan surround the center of mashed dates and topped with a drop of pungent black garlic. I don't think it's for everyone as the parmesan is very heavy on the cheese flavor, but I think it complements well with the aromatic concentrated garlic and the slight sweetness of the dates. This is a must try if you love cheese. If not, the Beecher's flagship is a nice break from the heaviness with endives, apples, hazelnuts, and cubes of the much lighter cheese. For dessert, the souffle was interesting, with foamy earl grey cream topping the entire dessert, and bites of creamy raspberry underneath. Good combination of flavor, but I wasn't expecting a dessert with so much creaminess and softness on the texture (and nothing else). Service was amazing, the servers broke down the details of the complicated menu beautifully, and they covered each other and took care of each other's tables including the changing of the cutlery and the serving of each course. They also passed the napkin test; my napkin was nicely folded on my table when I left the table to use the restroom. Some minor things here and there mostly regarding my personal preference for the food, but otherwise a very enjoyable and amazing experience with some of the most top notch service I've ever seen.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived a few minutes before our Saturday evening reservation and were seated promptly. We had a main server for the night and another one who were both pleasant. When we asked for explanations on the menu they explained them well. We sat close to the staging area curtains so I'll say the ambiance was ok. My one gripe from the night is that our drinks from the bar too long way too long. We ordered them before we placed our menu order and did not receive them until right before our third course, which was when our wine came out. So, I preferred to drink the wine pairing with the duck and saved my drink, which of course tasted watered down. Overall, while the food was good, nothing stood out to me as memorable. I also think the courses could've came out a little closer together. A dinner for two took almost 3 hours. The best taste of the night was my husband's lobster in Thai sauce, it was excellent! Check my pictures, the duck was more chewy than what I'm used to. I won't rule out coming here again, but I'll come at a different time of year to experience different menu.

Great service, great ambiance, great prices, and great food. Highly recommend. They surprised us with many small complimentary dishes throughout the meal that weren't listed on the menu. All tasted great. I like the crab fritter, the cheese course, and the soufflé. I left this place so full I couldn't even finish my dessert. More than enough food for sure. Would definitely come again :)

Wow, what an experience. This beautiful restaurant really is a cut above the rest. The service was just spectacular, and we were impressed that the pre-fixe menu had 5-6 options per course. It's four courses for $125, plus whatever you spend on drinks. I'm no foodie expert by any means, but this was such a fun and delicious experience. I had the crab fritter to start, which was so flavorful - the fritter was melt-in-your-mouth good with a sweet and spicy sauce. The lobster was to die for. I so rarely get to eat lobster, and there was an Asian sauce with it that I would drink. The cheese course was creative and fun - I had the parmigiana with a date cake - salty and sweet. And my chocolate dessert was like a little French silk pie on a cookie bottom - rich and also salty, which was surprising. They had little tiny surprise treats throughout the meal, including fresh sourdough and rolls. You can choose to do wine pairings, but we had cocktails. The Paloma was refreshing, and my husband had a tea-themed gin drink. Our other family members had wine, and they have a full journal of options and a sommelier to help you choose. The most random side note: the lights kept dimming and then coming back up. It was very confusing haha. However, this was a great experience for a special occasion. My first Michelin star experience!

Wow. One of the best meals I have ever had, hands down. Shrimp first course, lamb second course, and every dessert were the favorites. Wow.

I came here for the third time a couple weeks ago. Made a reservation well in advance for a special occasion. To be honest, I didn't remember the first two times I dined here because they were so long ago. So I was excited to render this as a relatively "new" experience. As you know, the location is in a unique industrial location at West Midtown - connected to Star Provisions and situated within some quiet greenery as the environs.Service is, as expected, top-notch. We were promptly seated to our table. The waiter was very patient in answering our multitude of questions and gave some great context around the dishes. We got the standard prix fixe, one using non-vegetarian options and one using vegetarian options. (For those who are so inclined, they also have vegan options available but not listed.) The dishes are small, but there are many...not just the 4 that are listed. In other words, don't be disappointed by the size of your first course. We started off with the yellow fin tuna and the mushroom. Again, not large - but flavorful. Afterwards were the lamb (very unique) and agnolotti. I usually try to avoid pasta at non-Italian restaurants, but this at least enjoyable and actually pretty filling. I should note that we received some greens and tasty side dishes during this process, so the amuse-bouches were very much appreciated (and certainly satiated us). Cheese was interesting to have as a standalone course, and dessert was of course delectable, particularly the chocolate option, along with an aesthetically pleasing coffee dessert.I look forward to going back.

The service here is impeccable. They walk you through every element of the menu and check in throughout the meal. You'll have several people supporting the meal and there are paired wine options to go along with each course. I don't think there is anyway to go wrong with this menu - each option within the four courses looked delicious and there were several additional surprises from chef! A fairly reasonable price for a tasting menu!

A neat perfect experience in all ways! If we had remained with just the courses this would have been a 5 star review. We tried the Fruits de Mer and I would recommend passing. The price for what is received is not worth it. Very keen seafood eater here and not all the seafood tasted fresh. Nothing had gone bad but shellfish was all fishy, and you could even taste it through the various sauces. The shrimp was the best part - tasted fresh. The lobster roll was also a disappointment - way too much bread. Now onto the good parts - everything we chose for the 4 courses was delicious. From crab fritter, to mushroom tart, to duck, prime rib..everything was perfectly created to a tee. Loved all the little deliveries from the kitchen as well throughout the meal. We definitely were stuffed by the end.Definitely recommend and would come back. The restaurant itself is also gorgeous rustic chic.

Solo diner review: I was visiting Atlanta at the end of March and I'm excited that I got to try their new Michelin starred restaurant! I planned this trip well in advance and was very pleased with my dinner.I was pleased with my seat along a banquet facing the side of the bar. As a solo diner it provided interesting comings and goings to watch while I enjoyed my meal. The dining room feels dark and urban, but not dark enough that you feel like you need a flashlight. All the food and service were excellent, but some highlights were the steak tartare (a personal favorite anywhere), the brie with sourdough crumble and truffle honey for the cheese course, and the Vin Santa from Badia a Coltbuono dessert wine. I also appreciated the feedback/coaching from the staff about how best to eat some dishes. Bathrooms were conveniently located and each was a single user complete with lots of space, its own sink, and playful wallpaper. If you're lucky, ask for some bakery leftovers when you confirm your reservation and you may just get a treat for breakfast (really, I think they should just do this as a gift to diners, but right now you have to ask and they have to have leftovers).Would definitely recommend a stop here if you're in Atlanta or looking for a special night out dinner.
