I've been to both the Capitol Hill and University Village locations for Ba Bar and ordered different things. This most recent trip to Ba Bar, I ordered the Lemon Grass Beef Vermicelli Bowl and it was "okay." I thought overall the food was okay, but lacked flavor. I personally wouldn't come back because I've found the food to be quite bland and I've just enjoyed it more elsewhere. What I do like about Ba Bar is that it's "nice." It's good for dates, large groups and everything in between. We showed up with a group of 10+ and the service was "okay." The server seemed at times to be annoyed by the some of the asks/questions from my/our party, but it wasn't enough to complain about - just something we "felt."The food wasn't bad, everyone ate their fill, but universally we felt like the food just lacked a flavor punch.

A great spot when craving vietnamese food!We ordered the vermicelli bowl and the house special pho. We were able to be seated right away without a wait, but definitely seems like a popular spot in U Village.Food was good but it's not your super authentic joint! The pho broth could have been hotter and less sweet, but other than that, it's what you would expect for a vermicelli bowl and noodle soup. I do like the ambiance, pretty spacious and clean with fun, tasteful decor. I'd come back if I'm ever craving Vietnamese food while shopping in U village.

Got recommended this place from the Seattle food list. Stunning inner decor and love the wooden tables. The restaurant was actually thriving with a lot of ppl for lunch and perfect having a bowl of soup on a rainy day. I got the lemongrass soda and was regretting not getting the coffee. Will come back to try the coffee. The oxtail pho was rlly good. The meat peals off the bone, a little disappointing on the brisket tho, maybe I over cooked it in the soup .... I thought I would need more noodles after I finished it cuz the soup was super tasty. The bill came out with something over $30 with tips. Honestly for a bowl of pho I think it's a bit overpriced. Service was very attentive, I got asked by several different ppl how my experience was. Overall a very pleasant experience. Would come back again if in the area.

We came here for lunch on a Friday, was told 20 min wait.Their estimates were quite off; 30 min later they still didn't have a regular table yet, but we happily took a bar table. Most of our orders came quickly, but for some reason one dish (crab pasta) took quite a long time to come after the other dishes. I got a combo grilled plate and every item was delicious! I also asked for every sauce and they were happy to get that for me.The place was clean and lively but quiet enough for us to chat, which was what we wanted.I would be happy to come back and try other menu items! Everyone loved their dishes.

Came on a Friday night without reservation for 3 people. Parking was hard as expected during that time but parked in QFC parking lot and had an easy walk over. Wait was 15 minutes. Ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl which was delicious and had enough for leftovers. Service was quick and the ambiance was very trendy! Cute for a Friday night

Hands down the best pho I have ever had. Ask the servers for their recommendations, they will help jazz up your dish and make it one of a kind!

Went here with my BFF to celebrate her birthday. We shared their chicken wings appetizer which was SO GOOD that I want more, right now! We both got their combo vermicelli bowl and it was also spectacular! The meats and spring roll were so delicious and the sauce that they serve it with is just what it ought to be; tangy and sweet!I would not recommend this place to anyone with a severe peanut allergy because peanuts are served on a lot of the dishes and I know that some people have allergies that are so severe that just smelling them can put someone into anaphylactic shock (aka my mom lol). But, if you don't have any allergies, go here and at least get the chicken wings. Try them first thing when they open for hot, crispy food and immediate seating! Great music playing in the sound system too!

Well, it makes me sad to write this review because at one point, I was a huge fan of Ba Bar.Came in for a quick 30 minute lunch and ordered the oxtail pho.My broth was waaayyy to dark, like Thai boat noodle broth color and consistency. it was definitely from the bottom of the pot and spices were extremely powerful which makes me suspect I got the old batch.
