Great food, excellent service. You can tell the owners care a lot about the business and their customers Lots of attention to detail in the decorations and setup. Guacamole was plentiful and the avocados were really fresh. Beef tamales were really tasty and lots of food for a more than reasonable price, especially in the Queen Anne neighborhood. I will definitely go back!

3.5 stars - let's round it up - they're new!B&Z is a Mexican restaurant that I would call an "American-style" Mexican restaurant, where you get tasty refried beans and melted cheese on dishes. We came for dinner and had two chicken dishes, but they have a large-ish seafood section on the menu as well. As for our Arroz con Pollo - it was tasty, but could it have used more mushrooms? Maybe! But it came with a bonus of sour cream and guacamole, so we're not complaining. We also had the Pollo Chipotle, which had a super-tasty sauce that was definitely not too spicy. I'll say it again: a really nice sauce. Both dishes came with tortillas that seemed quite fresh. The rice in my dish had that seemingly-pre-made mix of corn and lima beans in there. Was it from a frozen mix? I don't know but it seemed quite possible. The free chips and salsa to start were a nice touch and the possibly-homemade salsa was nicely spicy. That was a win. The food came out really quickly our server was a really nice guy. This restaurant has been open for less than a week, so if I were to make some suggestions they would be.Fix the sound issue - there are two TVs there and they're not too far from each other. One was playing a country 'Music Choice' station like you see on some cable TV systems and the other was tuned to an actual TV station. The audio was cranked on both - generating a blanket of almost white noise. I suggest: MUTE the TV and turn on its Closed Captions, and keep the music station on (but not too loud!).On your menu, I would mention if dishes come sour cream and guacamole. This can be both a selling point for the dish, and an option for diners to opt OUT of if they don't want guac and sour cream. A win-win.Also in your menu, MOVE the appetizer selections away from the breakfast page and put it nearer the dinner page. No one at dinner is going to look at the breakfast page for appetizers, and I'd bet breakfast patrons probably aren't ordering meat quesadillas with their french toast (I may be wrong). In any case, if you want to sell more appetizers - move them on your menu. I'm trying to help here.We needed a restaurant like this on Queen Anne, so I'm happy to have B & Z ! I actually want to try breakfast here!

This place is a great. I wish it was more busy because I want it to stay in business. Really good Mexican food hidden at the top of Queen Anne. Zero pretentious nonsense.

I came here late on a Sunday evening. They were a little quiet this late in the evening but I was glad they were open. Staff was super friendly and brought salsa and chips right away. Their salsa is a little spicy but really good! They only have beer/wine right now but have a good selection and fair prices. I went with the servers recommendation for dinner - chicken Diablo with a spicy red sauce. Yum. And quite a meal too - I ended up taking half of it home and had it for lunch the next day. Overall nice affordable restaurant with good food and good people.

I have been waiting for this place to open as I drive by it on my way home. We came here for breakfast, although my wife ordered off the lunch menu. We had chilaquiles and a chili relleno. Both were fresh and tasty. We ordered a side of guacamole as well, which had just been made. We will be back for dinner!

Outstanding food and service in a down-to-earth setting. Everything we ordered was great, and they were very accommodating of our family of 5 coming in for a late dinner. We don't live in Seattle, but if we did, this would be a go-to.

I really don't understand these glowing reviews, I doubt I could be more unhappy with my experience. I drove nearly an hour to try this place based on reviews. It was around 40 degrees today, that said, it had to be 30 degrees inside this place. How do you walk inside a place and it's colder. There was a tiny space heater near a window, but even if the place was insulated, which it can't be with all that glass, that heat would only service the table it was next to. Don't be cheap, turn on the heat. The salsa didn't look like the salsa in the photos. It was a green salsa and rather tangy. Reports claimed the salsa was spicy, so maybe they changed recipes. Here is where it gets interesting. I had the two taco plate. One taco had enough meat for 3 tacos and the other was made as expected. That said it was carnitas and it wasn't fresh. It was lukewarm at best which tells me it was reheated and carnitas is a dish that does not reheat well. The pico on the taco was flavorless and the rice was fleeced with corn and peas which is completely gross in my opinion.I ate the meat, but since I couldn't enjoy the rice, I didn't eat the beans. I was really disappointed and learned again, that trusting reviews is hit and miss on yelp. I was in the mood for life changing Mexican food and what I had here was terrible. Sure, the people couldn't have been nicer, but the food couldn't have been much worse. 100% unhappy.

I too don't understand these reviews. Got the enchiladas and the chicken was so dry. I started to have stomach cramps after eating and it's still not good. Service was nice I guess.
