Azuma Sushi & Robata Grill

our server was awesome, the restaurant is clean and the sushi was fast and delicious! The fish was a perfect temperature to actually taste the fish! Great job and love it here!!

We decided to try Azuma again because we enjoyed the take-out so much, but this time we dined in for lunch. Service was quick and efficient. Nice, cozy, natural restaurant with good space, not too crammed. Everything was fresh and delicious like we had expected. I got the Chirashi Bowl that came with the Wakame Udon and my husband got the Itamae Bento Box from the lunch menu. Great variety of fish in the chirashi bowl. The Wakame Udon was such a comforting (and size-able) bowl to have before the Chirashi. My husband's bento was jam-packed with goodies. Really good value, we were stuffed! We might have to dine in again for dinner!

A friend & I came in near happy hour.It was my first opportunity to try Azuma out.I went with the...'Crazy Irishman Roll' | 6.9/10It was good first try of Azuma; but I feel like there's better rolls on the menu. Service was quick!Ambiance - in the day, it was chill. Some families around us, but still an intimate place - probably good for dates!

Thankful to have Azuma as our go-to for fresh sushi, be it takeout or dine-in! After trying another sushi spot in North Houston based on its good reviews (it may have been slightly less expensive but worlds apart in quality), I realize how special Azuma is! We've never been disappointed here - the sushi is always flavorful and fresh. This is a wonderful local spot that deserves five stars.

Came here a few times with friends and family and I just love how fresh their sashimi are. I'm pretty picky about my sushi and this is one of my go to places. They offer a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi and entrees....a little something for everyone. My boyfriend is not a fan of eating raw food and he's able to find something on the menu that he likes. It's a win-win! When I come here with my family we usually just tell our waiter to ask the sushi chef to just whip us up the freshest sashimi and put it on a platter for us...try this and you will NOT be disappointed. Not only the presentation was gorgeous and appetizing, but just as good as it taste. The sashimi literally melts in your mouth! Side note, you can ask the server to bring you fresh wasabi....fresh wasabi is actually not a green color and it doesn't come in a paste. Wasabi is a root and you grind them into a powder and it comes as a beige, white color. The place is usually live and festive, especially on a weekend so make sure you call ahead and reserve a table. Michael, who manages there is our favorite manager...attentive, charismatic and gives a lot of good recommendation. So ask for him!

I've been searching for a delivery sushi spot and I think I finally found it! Their menu was great and I settled for the Hama Chili Roll, Azuma Roll, and a miso shiru. I ordered during lunchtime so I was expecting it to take some time but between deciding what to order and it being dropped at my door, it took less than 1 hour! Talk about a quick catch ;-) Their to-go packaging was small and cute and maybe I got lucky with my delivery but this was the best looking delivery of sushi I've ever received! I can't wait to try this restaurant in person but I'll definitely be a delivery customer from now on!

My visit to Azuma Sushi and Robata Bar in Rice Village Houston was a delightful experience, mainly thanks to their outstanding chirashi bowl. The freshness and high quality of the fish in this dish were truly exceptional, making it a must-try for sushi enthusiasts.While the other dishes I sampled were slightly above average, it was the chirashi that stole the show. The attention to detail and the selection of fish in this bowl made it a memorable dining experience. The ambiance felt more casual than upscale.The spacious parking lot and the attentive and friendly staff added to the positive aspects of the visit. However, it's worth noting that there was a bit of a wait for the food to come out. Nevertheless, Azuma Sushi and Robata Bar is a worthy Japanese restaurant in the Rice Village area, especially if you're craving an exceptional chirashi bowl. The quality of the fish in this dish alone justifies a visit.

Great lunch specials. Consistent quality of sushi. Fresh sushi. Service was good although it did feel a little slow. I was there for lunch on a Friday on my break and it was rather busy.

First time tried Omakase by Chef Diego for my birthday and it was astonishing! Previously went for sushi rolls and loved it (despite the restaurant being far from my house), but after trying the chef chosen variety of appetizers, sushi and sashimi will be back more often. The dishes we tried were so distinct - fusion of Japanese cuisine with modern touches. Plates were decorated as art creations; taste surprised and satisfied the palate, the textures were marvelously fused. Perfectly combined flavors and highest grade seafood were perfect for celebrating my special occasion, want to return for more.The place may not appear luxury or chic but food definitely is the top quality. It has been open for many years and still provides excellent quality and service (as sushi connoisseur I noticed the trend for quality to do down for many high end sushi restaurants). Definitely will be back and highly recommend as best place for Omakase in Houston.

We love Azuma. The food and service are consistent and exemplary! It's a fun, busy atmosphere. A few years ago, I attended a bachelorette dinner in the loft. Great experience!
