AZ Wine Company

Me and a couple of my girlfriends come here occasionally for a book club meet. We like the idea that we can bring food, engage in conversation and purchase delicious wine all in the same spot. It's a cool spot and I have yet to be disappointed in a recommended wine selection!

I visited this lil shop on a groupon which included 3 wine tastings pp and your favorite bottle to take home. It was not busy at all on a Thursday around 4pm but that's exactly what I was looking for. We brought in some cheese and snacks we'd purchased elsewhere and our server began telling us a little about the wines we were tasting. I usually prefer whites over reds but I surprised myself by not liking any of the whites and loving all the reds! I really loved trying something so different than I expected and ended up taking that bottle home. Absolutely delicious! There are a few large couches for big groups as well as high tops and a couple low tables. They provided some plates for us which was great as well. We were not rushed at all and took our time, music playing was great. Afterwards we walked around the shop and checked out their wines. So many of the typical brands you see in stores they did not have (I liked this) what they did have was a ton of cool wines I've never heard of before with price points from $10-over $300. Defintely something for everyone. I didn't purchase anything else only because I currently have way too much wine at home but when I trim down the collection, I'd totally go back to AZ wine co.

Okay, I really like this place, yet I hate the traffic to get to it!! I will say that the two times I showed up in the afternoon, I thought it might still be closed. I meandered through the place browsing and once someone noticed me I got amazing service. There is a really good selection of wine, some you can't even find at total wine/bev-mo. An employee turned me into a 2013 juan gil red that is amazing and only $16! They do wine tastings on Thursdays at 6pm that I wish I could go to, but alas work doesn't allow. Maybe they will do one saturday? ;) hint hint;)

Really enjoyed the place! We ordered a wine flight and cheese board here, and our host was very fun to chat with. They let you buy a drink from their store area and drink it there, and you're free to bring in your own food.They have sale on select wines too, at incredibly steep discounts. We left with two bottles of wine that night, not expecting to.

Great! Please don't let the strip mall exterior fool you. This is a very fun spot with a unique set up. We came in for a wine tasting a few weeks back and had a great time. Something they mentioned was that you can bring in your own food to the tasting room and buy a bottle of wine from the rack to drink while there. Definitely something we will be taking advantage of in the future. It sounds like this is right next to a really solid restaurant as well that we may be trying in the future. The staff was really friendly and knew a ton about wine. We'll be back!

This place was cozy, our guy we did tasting funny and very knowledgeable.. Wish had option to order snacks.. But will definitely come back..

I'm surprised that there aren't more reviews about AZ wine company. I had the special occasion to stop in here prior to having dinner next door at Atlas Bistro. I found that their staff was extremely helpful on more than one occasion in which I wanted to select a bottle of wine.I appreciate the wide selections of wine and the knowledgeable staff, buy what appealed to me the most was the fact that they have several bottles of wine that are highly rated for under $30. I was a little surprised by that actually. Of course there are wines in there for new and mid-level collectors. I'm not sure if this is the place for serious wine collectors. One thing is for sure, I have used AZ wine many times when I wanted to stop in and pick up a quick bottle of wine. I took 3 bottles of wine to the International Supper Club UYE and everyone that had wine said they really enjoyed it. I have NEVER been disappointed with the recommendations. I highly suggest this store for the wine lovers who love local businesses!

I was pleasantly surprised to find this amazing wine bar in an unassuming strip mall along Scottsdale road. We initially sat at the bar where we were promptly greeted with a friendly hello and glasses of water. We each ordered one of the featured $6 wines for the day. I drank a Cab and my husband a Merlot. We moved over to one of the large sectional couches to enjoy our wine and watch the end of the DBacks game on the TV. They also had a few good beers on tap as well as a refrigerator full of other beer options and wine. You can choose a bottle of wine or beer and drink it there if you'd rather have that than the featured wines of the day. They have wine tasting every Thursday, so we plan to try that sometime.

Extremely rude on the phone from the get go. I was planning to have a wine tasting gathering at AZ Wine company for my birthday which fell on a Thursday. I had planned for 10-15 people. I called to make the reservations for the wine tasting early Monday, left them a message and they never got back to me. I called them again Wednesday and the man who picked up the phone was extremely rude and was not willing to help me at all. He said they close the winery at 8pm when their website specifically says 11pm. He pretty much said he can't help me and gave me an attitude for not calling a month in advance. I bought a Groupon for AZ Wine Company and I am now on hold to get a refund. They are obviously on Groupon because business is slow/dead and/or service sucks yet he still denied my business... Sadly, we had to cancel the wine tasting and just find somewhere else to go...

Review of WINE TASTING only - visited on a Groupon.Small wine store. A couple nice seating areas plus a bar for wine tasting. Once someone finally greeted us (at least 5 min after we arrived), we got to choose a seat (we had a whole couch to ourselves on a quiet Saturday afternoon) and we got to make our selections. Weird that they don't have anything to serve with the wines (even just crackers or something to cleanse the palate). And the server shared nothing about the wines or the shop itself. The wines were nice, but didn't love anything enough to buy it - though there was no one around when we wanted to leave so not sure I could have bought anything if we wanted to. The shop is nice, seems like it might be a nice selection. If they want to offer wine tastings they probably need to do a better job of paying attention to customers who come in.
