An Ethiopian coffee shop with amazing coffee and nice decor. Went by this morning to grab a cuppa with friends, and it was lovely. The barista was so friendly and we even cracked jokes with him. I got Hazelnut Latte and it was good. Super nice coffee place in heart of Central District.

Unfortunately not good service at all. I had ordered a 12oz latte. Once my order was ready, they handed me an 8oz latte. I let them know the mistake since I did pay for the 12oz and then went on to take the current 8oz latte, poured it into a 12oz cup and filled it up with milk. I was in shock they would do that completely in front of me. At least do it behind the counter and then I just give a bad review of the latte saying it's too milky. But nope, I saw it all! This occurred when they recently opened around September and I have not been back since.

Great coffee, all Ethiopian. I enjoyed my reasonably priced, tasty oat latte (4 shots in a 24-oz. cup). Kind, friendly barista and nice easygoing ambiance. Seating inside is three countertop seats good for people-watching and a long side bench; outside there are a few metal tables with chairs.

Home to Community, Friendly Baristas and High-grade Coffee. Cafe Avole is local community harbor and home for all coffee lovers of all backgrounds in the heart of Central District. They are a direct reflection of their nearby residents and passing visitors who make up the district's diverse neighborhood. And their top-tier Ethopian coffee speaks to what the cafe represents.I recently visited Cafe Avole looking for a place to read my book with some coffee to kill time before my next appointment. Searching for a nearby coffee shop, I decided to visit Avole because of their raving reviews online. I have to say, their all-star reviews definitely lives up to their ratings!During my visit, I ordered their peppermint mocha and tried one of their macaroons. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the mocha because they used Ghiradelli syrup for their chocolate base. As a mocha connoisseur, coffee shops that use commercial syrup like Hershey's or Ghiradelli usually end up creating a very basic mocha and it's the type of chocolate they use that really sets other mochas apart. I was definitely surprised. Despite using Ghirardelli chocolate syrup, their mocha tasted pretty elevated, and I believe it's because of their Ethiopian coffee. The vibrant fruity and flowery characteristics of the coffee truly spoke to me when I tried their mocha. In addition to coffee, they also served a small selection of baked goods and macaroons that I believe are sourced by independent bakers. The macaroons were beautifully decorated with fine details, but it didn't taste too impressive in comparison to the many macaroons I've had in my lifetime. I don't think you'd be missing anything if you passed on the macaroons. The baristas were also really friendly. I really got a sense of community from the cafe because there were a lot of people coming in and out, regulars stopping by to chat with the baristas and friends who'd sit in for a while to catch up. The cafe is pretty small and cozy, it has a high-top table by the window that can probably fit 4 guests and then a bench for folks to sit while they wait for their coffee. Because of the size and layout, this may not be the ideal place to settle in with your laptop or school work since there's limited surface table.Overall, I had a humbling experience at Cafe Avole. If I lived nearby, I would be proud to have a coffee shop like Cafe Avole nearby.

My friend recommended this to me while visiting them up in Seattle. It's location is a huge plus to it! There were lots of new apartments and store fronts going up around it, and it is a short walk from both Capitol Hill and First Hill. It's also near a main road, but not right on it so that it is still quiet while having lots of customers. The storefront is also very well set up- it has large floor to ceiling windows that light up the whole store front. The decor is also modern and not too busy. There is store specific merch for sale in a conveniently placed location too, so while waiting for your drink, you'll definitely be looking. The drink prep area is also very clean and well laid out. There was only one staff member at the time (around 10AM on a Sunday morning) and there should have been more staff for sure (a larger group came just as I was leaving). The staff member did not seem stressed by the lack of coworkers, was laid back, and knowledgeable when I asked questions. The menu isn't too large, which is nice, since you know that what they offer they do well in and don't need to offer a million different items that are okay. I like to ask staff what they would recommend. I tried an iced sweet macchiato and it was delicious! The flavoring in it definitely didn't taste cheap and it also was subtly sweet. The espresso was very smooth as well.If I was a local, I would definitely give this place a try next time I'm on a walk out in the neighborhoods.

Small spot good for takeout - there is a small bar seating area. Since I'm not a coffee person, I got the chai tea latte which was not too sweet and perfectly spiced. My husband got one of the iced coffee drinks and loved how sweet and smooth it was. They also have a good selections of pastries and breakfast sandwiches available.

Such kind people, Gavin gave me a sample of espresso and half a sandwich. I ordered the Earl juice, a nod to a community leader.I chatted with another customer as well. It's cool they foster a vibe of strangers talking to each other.

Avole is located in Seattle's vibrant Central District neighborhood. Yes, it's been open since May 2022, so I'm a bit late to the cafe party. But I finally had an opportunity to stop by on 2/18/24. Limited outdoor and indoor seating, but great interior decor and overall vibe. The young barista sure nailed an amazing mocha! Driving from the the CD towards Montlake then to the UDistrict, the amazing scent wafting from my takeout cup. I've always favored Ethiopian coffee beans, especially from the Yirgacheffe southern region. Avole is definitely a worthy detour!

One of the best experiences I've had in Seattle but the food/drinks were even better!! Service was amazing and the person helping me was thorough in their descriptions when I asked questions. The prices were great and all of the ingredients used were high quality and ORGANIC, I truly cannot explain in words how good my experience was! You gotta get the breakfast stack, also a ginger shot to wash it down and power you through the rest of the day! Appreciate the high quality service, one love!
