The food is amazing we had 5 Rolls and loved them all. The service was great too! We will be back next time we are in Boston.

Is it the best sushi you'll ever have? No. But can you get a PLATTER of sushi for a reasonable price and love every second of eating it? Absolutely. I live pretty close by, so this is my go to for when I have friends over and we're looking for a dinner to go with a movie. It's reasonably priced, but pretty standard middle-of-the-road sushi. The inside of the restaurant is relatively small, and the staff is pretty aloof (usually there isn't anyone at the front), so it's not the most amazing dining experience. But hey, you get what you pay for and I can't complain. If it weren't so close, I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to go to this spot, but it's consistent and reliable. If you're in the area, it's a solid choice. But don't make it a destination. It delivers well, so definitely a good option if you're looking for a night in.

Always fresh! Always tasty! The "Patrick roll" never disappoints! The shrimp tempura and black pear boy is also always amazing with so much flavor! My 4 year old loves the cucumber sushi.

This is a run-of-the-mill sushi restaurant. I came for lunch. Few diners, mostly takeout.I got the two rolls and two sides lunch. Good, not great. Portion was fine. I'd prefer more fish and 6 pieces per roll. And no sauce. Next time I'll avoid the lunch special and choose rolls off the a la carte.Price was reasonable. Place is very busy with takeout.

Not a bad place and very comparable to Avana Sushi 1 (in Chinatown). Parking (like Chinatown) is difficult so it's best to do pick up or to eat in (after COVID anyways).Items ordered (prices as of 11/20)- Eel Avocado Cucumber - $5.95 : Not bad but nothing I haven't had before.- Torch Salmon (Chef's Special Maki) - $13.95: Actually surprisingly good. It's a warm (cooked) roll and the flavors mesh together pretty well.- BBQ eel (Poke Bowl) - $13.95: For the price I'd say this was acceptable. Eel was tasty and cooked well and the sauce was good. Unfortunately I wish there was more Eel as the mounds of rice it sat upon made it so that I had to portion the eel out properly so I didn't end up with a bowl full of rice and vegetables.- Salmon, Tuna & Yellowtail (Poke Bowl) - $15.95: Overall this was probably the least impactful of the previous items we ordered. There was a lot more rice compared to the fish and the fish itself wasn't really flavorful which kind of defeated the purpose of getting the bowl. In the end the quality is comparable to the original Avana Sushi. I would probably stick to the sushi as you can find better pokebowls at restaurants that specialize in them. If you live closer to this location definitely giving it a recommendation!

TAKEOUT/DELIVERY REVIEWI've known about Avana since I moved to Boston 7 years ago, but really only explored it during the pandemic to satisfy my sushi cravings. We now order from them at least once a month. I honestly think Avana has the best rolls I've ever had, with a perfect ratio of rice to fish to sauce. They also do something interesting where some of the rolls have mango in it, which definitely was weird to me in the beginning, but is actually very refreshing. Prices for rolls are also pretty cheap in Boston considering the amount of fish that is in each piece, around $11-$13 for a special roll. Their sushi holds up really well with delivery and is always perfectly secured in the container so it's like its fresh from the sushi bar when I get it at home. The four rolls my partner and I always get now are Winter Maki, Super Man Maki, Black Pearl Maki, and Torch Salmon Maki.

Ordered the spicy salmon avocado. Was some of the best sushi I've had in Boston especially for the price. Service was very fast and friendly. Perfect for a small snack or the sushi deals are great for a bigger meal without spending a fortune. Will definitely be coming back.

After walking around the downtown crossing area, I wanted a quick place to eat lunch. Avana Sushi has lunch specials every day from 11 am - 3 pm, so it was the perfect place to stop. The restaurant is small inside, and there wasn't anyone there when I first arrived, which was a bit concerning. However, while I was waiting and eating, many people dropped in to order items to go and pick up orders, so it seems like a popular spot for locals. I ordered the lunch special with 3 rolls (the eel avo cucumber, the salmon mango avo, and the spicy tuna avo) and miso soup. To be honest, it was a bit too much food, and I would have been fine with just two. All the rolls were prepared super quickly and were delicious.

I tried both Avana's Avocado Salad $4.95 and Kani Salad $5.95 to go and found them both fresh and refreshing, but that the Kani salad was inaccurately portrayed on some online ordering options, including the one found on Avana Sushi 2's own website. The Kani salad is described as Crabstick, cucumber, avocado, mango in a dressing. There was no avocado for sure, and probably no cucumber. The mango was sparse. It was mainly dressed shredded kani on a bed of lettuce.

Excellent! A simple place, but the sushi was off the hook. We had the Spicy Red Sox, Hawaii 5-0, and the Shrimp Tempura rolls. They were all delicious.
