Yuki Handroll delivered a sushi experience that was nothing short of sensational! They don't take reservations, but our party of six strolled in and got seated immediately--no waiting, no fuss. The entire setup revolves around bar seating, giving you a front-row view of sushi artistry in action. The Toro? Pure magic. It transported me right back to the bustling fish markets of Japan--melt-in-your-mouth perfection. And those hand rolls? I usually skip them, but these were next-level. Crisp, fresh, and packed with flavor that had me rethinking my whole sushi game.Honestly, I'm counting down the days until my next visit. Top-tier sushi, stellar vibes, and prices that feel like a steal for the quality. Yuki, you've got my heart--and my appetite!

Service here is great and the staff are incredibly attentive. The prices are more affordable than similar handroll places closer to downtown, which is a big plus. The menu offers variety, but I like the crudo options of the handroll place in Houston. I love the convenience of using an erasable marker to mark your selections directly on the menu--it makes the ordering process fun and easy. The nigiri pieces are impressively large, and the rice is soft with a slight green tint, which adds a unique visual touch without altering the flavor. The seaweed isn't crisp, the fish on some of the handroll orders are served as a slice versus diced so I am using my teeth to tear through and then kind of making a mess. I ordered madai, which had a piece of gristle, which was hard to work through and i believe should've been removed prior to serving. For about $60, I had three handrolls and a piece of nigiri, which felt like good value considering the portion sizes and quality. We also tried the yuzu cheesecake, it had bright flavor, though the slice was a bit small.Overall, I'd return to have nigiri and entertain my friends since it's priced lower. It's not good for large groups since the seating is bar seating.

Visit Date: August 29, 2024I've been in a weird phase where I don't like eating raw seafood for fear of food-borne illness. But sometimes you need to leave your comfort zone and try new things. That was my experience at YUKI.I got the veggie handroll combo and two extra rolls in the shrimp katsu and masago. I thought the masago was the egg one, but come to find out it is fish roe! I still ate the whole thing. My mom ordered a couple 4-piece sashimis for us to share (including chu toro, amberjack), and I tried two. I guess I haven't been used to the texture of fresh fish, so those weren't my favorite but I could still taste how good they are & how good a deal YUKI offers. The overall quality could still be better, as according to my parents the original chefs no longer work at this location because they are helping establish the new one. Next time they suggest coming here, I won't say no AND I'll order actual sushi, not veggies.

I never wanted to step foot back in here. However, a work colleague didn't give me much of a choice. Mid summer dinner place was dead. Food ok. Edamame not in shells $7. They have specials don't tell you the prices. Wagyu sushi was $30 for two pieces. Hand roll for six $34.90. Place closes at 8:30 pm during week. I noticed once got home was charged for a Prosecco that we didn't order. The energy tags are off televisions. Only counter seating. No tables.

We've definitely been missing a good Handroll bar in Austin! My husband and I visited on a Friday evening. They do not taking reservations, so we arrived early around 5:15 and were seated right away. They open at 4:30 and it was packed by 6. There is only one U shaped bar to sit at and when it's full, there's a wait. My husband ordered one of the specials that included 5 preselected rolls and I ordered 3 separate rolls. The daily special was yellowtail. My favorite rolls were the shrimp katsu and scallop roll. The chef makes the rolls right in front of you. Everything tasted very fresh. This place is relatively pricey. The lowest priced handroll I saw was $7, so that gives you an idea of how quickly it can add up. I also ordered a glass of white wine. Three servers were circulating the bar and helping as needed. They also explained how to fill out the menu and provided good recommendations. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and might come back again on occasion.

This little 20 seat restaurant is in the same strip off Bee Caves where the Grove is located. Parking gets tight depending on the time since that parking lot isn't huge. Seating is first come first served along a U-shaped bar height top. Music plays in the background and you're greeted with an irasshaimase when you enter the restaurant. The waitstaff is nice and helpful while the folks behind the bar quietly work on your meal - wasn't much in the way of interaction. The menu has some appetizers, handrails, sushi and sashimi and also handroll combos. Prices aren't exactly cheap but are commensurate with the fare. The handroll combos are a good place to be and they range from 3-6 handrolls - it's good bang for the buck. If you start adding nigiri and sashimi you'll see your tab escalate significantly. That being said the cuts of sashimi are pretty large compared to other sushi restaurants and I believe the nigiri are a bit larger as well. Rice is seasoned although I'm not sure with what (it's green colored). They also have daily specials on a chalkboard on the back wall of the right side of the bar. We had:Seaweed salad - this was good for sharing - a little goes a long waysChu Toro sashimi - comes with garnished with some seaweed/kelp, radishes, onions and greens with a little sauce and chilis on the bottomYellowtail belly sashimi - also garnished very similarly to the Chu Toro. We felt the yellowtail belly was actually better than the ChutoroSweet shrimp nigiri - nigiri with the fried shrimp head (very nicely battered and fried). Served with three types of flavored masago - wasabi, soy and chili?Scallops - more of a kewpie mayo tossed scallop salad vs slices of scallopsSalmon Crab - crab salad vs tubes of kani Shrimp Katsu - fried shrimp - probably the universal favorite Ikura - salmon roeJapanese Uni Overall - I'd come back but I'd probably stick to just handrolls given the price. I'd likely go elsewhere for more variety when it comes to nigiri or sashimi.

Yuki is in Bee Caves area of Austin so the food prices were a little more to reflect the area.Seating is very limited and the U shape configuration offers that of traditional Japanese sushi experience. They do not take reservations so it is a first come first serve basis. Service is quick and if you do end up waiting for a table it wouldn't be for long. The hand rolls were very delicious and the fillings tasted fresh. I had tried their crab, scallop and chutoro...the crab being my favorite! The nigiri pieces were huge! I noticed that the chefs use precut pieces (not sure if it is the same amount for the hand rolls) for their nigiri/sashimi. I almost wished the fish was slightly smaller because I felt like a blowfish after popping each nigiri piece whole in my mouth!! The madai was my favorite the chutoro was questionable on texture. We ended with a slice of their yuzu cheesecake. The yuzu flavor was very subtle and the slice itself was tiny for $7. Prices are slightly high but it is understandable because of the area. Handroll spots in Austin is almost to none and I am glad I was able to dine here!

My friend and I really enjoyed lunch at Yuki. It's really a cute place. Most of the seats surround the sushi bar which is almost like dinner and a show! The servers and sushi makers were friendly and helpful throughout our entire meal.Just a heads up, they make sushi rolls but they are for to-go orders only. The dine-in menu features nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and a few appetizers. We split two hand rolls (tuna and yellowtail belly) and then had several different nigiris including scallop, sweet shrimp, marinated shrimp, madai, and tuna. I was super impressed with the nigiri. The seafood had great color and texture and tasted super fresh. The handrolls were constructed nicely.I can also recommend the matcha green tea as a great lunch beverage. It's not the cheapest sushi place, but I'm happy paying for the quality of food I received. I look forward to going back.

Came in for lunch at 11:30 and there was only one other person there! Yuki is starting off strong! The space is very intimate, only having sushi bar seating. The vibe is upscale and overall beautiful. An amazing place for date night. Our server, Manny, was wonderful. He was very attentive, kind, and informative! All of the rolls were extremely fresh as was the pickled ginger. There was no fishy taste to any of the rolls. My favorite was the tempura shrimp roll. The batter was the crispiest I've ever had and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Almost melt in your mouth! With amazing service, wonderful food, and quality ingredients, Yuki did not disappoint.
