I call these "Grandma's Green Beans" because that is what they remind me of. Like a green bean hug. Delicious.

Enjoyed a Valentine's late lunch at this establishment today. The premises are very large with lots of parking, an outside covered patio that wraps around half of the building and it includes two working log fire pits, a very large square bar that has serving at all four sides and lots of inside seating. The entire establishment is decorated very nice and portrays the area.We had the WR margarita, an old-fashioned and a calamari appetizer. The calamari is served on a bed of rice noodles with an Asian sauce dressing, so tasty and it's huge. We originally planned to have entrées, but with the calamari dish being as large as it was, we elected to have another appetizer, wagu brisket nachos, again another hit. Their menu has many tempting selections and their whiskey offerings are enormous. Finally, but not lastly, our server was Sydney and she couldn't have done a better job. She came by several times to check on us, we had one of our grandchildren with us and we asked for an order of french fries for him so she went into the kitchen and got the fries and brought them out immediately so he would be entertained, that is going beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to returning soon.

I visit Wimberley about once a month and love trying new restaurants in town. I was excited to check this place out after hearing about it, especially since the ambiance and decor are absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the setting.I ordered the 12-ounce center-cut filet, cooked over oak, for $64. At that price, I expected a top-tier steakhouse experience, but what I got was disappointing. The steak came out with a burnt, charred crust, was overcooked, and was overly salty. It lacked the tenderness and quality I would expect at this price point. To make matters worse, there was no fresh bread like you'd get at places like Ruth's Chris, and the sides were underwhelming--the mashed potatoes were the best thing on the plate, but the green beans reminded me of something from Cracker Barrel. For a small-town restaurant, this pricing feels out of place unless the quality and service match a true fine dining experience. If you're going to charge premium steakhouse prices, the food, execution, and service need to be on par with that level. Unfortunately, this felt more like an upscale country bar serving a steak that should have been priced at $35-$40 instead of $64.I really wanted to like this place, but based on my experience, I won't be coming back.

First of all great interior decoration, lighting and ambiance, but it is on the loud side. It is a great addition to Texas Hill Country and Driftwood. It is a short drive from Austin if you have not been Driftwood you have to go. It is green and serene. Service - Dasha was great she is the reason this review did not get a lower rating. Food - Ahh when we think about price and performance. It doesn't justify unfortunately. For example, Bone in Ribeye 22 ounce was $60 with no sides. It doesn't make sense. If you are trying to be a fancy steak house or charging fancy steak house pricing. Make sure you have a salt like maldon on the table not cheap salt. Steak was cold. It was swimming in a juice. Nachos weee cold as well and it was so heavy on the cheese. If they have happy hour maybe it is worth a shot, but Whiskey Ridge doesn't offer the value what it charges. It is simply too expensive for what it offers in terms of of quality, but it excels with the ambiance. Your call

Really good steaks. Service was 5 star. Just not picking bug i did not like the green beans. Next time i will choose another side. But that's just me, I'm sure others like it. Manager did take off my bill and i didn't even ask for that. So again, 5 star service. Wife loved the ribeye fried steak. The gravy was top notch. (Could use salt on everything) but that's in the table so no biggie

Finally a new and great eatery out in the driftwood area! Esthetically well put together both inside and outside! Think steakhouse Texas feel minus the crazy price points! Nice ambiance !! Reservations were easy to make! We had attentive service and everything ordered was amazing. Fried ribeye was enough to feed 2! Queso with brisket, oysters were great starters! They have a nice full bar so whole the restaurant has cozy seating, this is a great spot to grab a drink as well! They have a very spacious screened in patio with fireplace and awesome views. Their front patios have also a cozy lounge area with fireplace tables should you have to wait. Definitely a new staple for us here in this area!

OK, so if you're looking for a good steak restaurant, you don't have to go into downtown Austin to find one. This hidden gem out in Driftwood, Texas might just be as good as a steak restaurant as you'll find in fancy restaurants. The restaurant isn't as fancy as some of the other ones you see but it's got a great kitchen, it's got great beef, and it is definitely worth Your time to try it out. This restaurant pretty new, so highly recommend that you make reservations before you just head on out. Our waiter, Heath, was very attentive, and he even offered up suggestions as a first time guest. The food came out amazing. We tried the steak filet, grandma's green beans, which is what I'm gonna call them, and had onions and bacon in it, and the double patty burger was amazing. All in all this was a great dining experience. Give it a try. I give it five stars,

Whiskey Ridge is a local steak house that sources their beef locally. Overall the food here was really good. Starting with the Oysters which were fresh and the horseradish has a real good kick! Personally I prefer a steak to be cooked with nothing fancy. Here they add a butter on top on serving which is ok but not for me. Either way the New York strip was done as ordered and the filet was great. The best shareable is the mashed potato. The desert - a pecan pie with a dollop of ice cream was surprisingly delicious. The waiter was friendly and very attentive. Although getting a spot for Saturday was impossible the restaurant was wide open on Sunday night. The family style sitting across tables may be nice if you're in a big group. A definite repeat just plan it different.

The vibe of this place is amazing and the service is great too. However the food I would give two stars and one star if you include the price. It would be a great place to meet for drinks but if you want a good meal it was a big letdown for us. We had high hopes! The menu looks great and walking in we loved it. However all 4 of us did not like our meals or appetizers. Out of everything we got the only thing we would order again would be the butterscotch custard dessert! We started off with the queso which was ok but nothing special. The best food we ordered for sure. Another appetizer was a stuffed avocado with chicken salad which was just strange. It was impossible to share and was half an avocado with a scoop of chicken salad on top for $12! Bad plate design. For our meals, two of our party ordered hamburgers. Both were ordered medium and both came out burnt! The outside was black and the inside was grey and dry. Really bad burgers. Plus the buns were way bigger than the patties - just bad overall design. The other two of us had salads. A wedge with chicken that was a huge piece of iceberg lettuce, with almost no dressing, and a mixed salad with chicken that had a great menu description but was soggy and lacking any good flavors. It feels like they just don't have the staff to pull off what they are trying to deliver. Bummer. We will keep watching the reviews to see if they improve because we want this place to be great.
