Truly no words to describe how much I love this place. Went during lunch time with a large group and had phenomenal service. The lunch rush was intense but we got our food in a decent amount of time and were paid plenty attention too. The. Food. Was. AMAZING. To start we got some yummy oysters that I would definitely get again. For my main meal I got a bowl of gumbo and the tuna crudo. Unfortunately I did not take a picture but boy I wish I did. The gumbo is great but could have a little more veggies. The tuna was so good I'd come back specifically just for that! The others at my table got po'boys and burgers and genuinely enjoyed their food as well. For drinks, el Jimadero's were delicious & refreshing. Overall we had an amazing experience. If you're looking for somewhere with super tasty food, cute vibes, and great service, I'd definitely recommend this place!

I was so disappointed with Uptown Sports Club after all the online hype. If I was to describe this meal in one word it would be mid. The tuna crudo tasted like they just took tuna and squeezed lemon and added raw onions. Not much flavor dimension and way too tart - I've definitely had better crudo in Austin. The steak frites were good, but that's all. Nothing super special. The s'mores tart was so hard to break into. Anytime I put my spoon towards the tart everyone would turn and look because of how loud the sound was which tells you how hard it was. Overall doesn't live up to the hype or cost and Austin has much better food places to check out. Maybe other menu items are better than these but I'm not convinced.

Loved the feel of Uptownwarm & inviting atmosphere with friendly staff. Definitely has a NOLA vibe not only in decor but the menu too also a full bar for refreshments We ordered from the appetizer & mainsections each serving was DELICIOUS . We were waaaay to full for dessert We all needed a refreshment so beer & martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives got us going. Starting with raw oysters freshly shucked tasty & briney served with mignonette sauce our FAV also crab dip a bowl of gumbo served packed full of the taste of New Orleans. Moving along to red beans & rice a NOLA staple we're xcellant, a icy cold wedge with blue cheese dressing dripping down the sides still making my mouth water , fried green tomato por boy with bread shipped in from NO, complete with shredded lettuce & mayo lastly the Franklin BBQ Brisket sandwich (a special of the day) inflipping crediable This was a truly creole treat, if you in the downtown area near 6th street head on in with your appetite & chow down!!!!

My husband and I were visiting Austin for a few days so I made it a point to do some research. Uptown Sports Club was on my list because not only is it co-owned by one of the owners of Franklin Barbecue, it serves Louisiana inspired food. My husband is from New Orleans so I thought he might enjoy it. We trekked from our hotel to East Austin, which was quite a walk, by the way. We made it for Happy Hour and checked in with the hostess as I had made a reservation. We opted for some drinks from the HH menu. I had the Le Figue Rose and he opted for a dirty martini. He was disappointed that there was no catfish po'boy on the menu. I was ordering a patty melt from the HH menu so he opted to do the same. We saw on the menu that it said Texas Toast was used. But what we received looked more like prepackaged thinly sliced wheat bread. It was covered in house made potato chips and it was quite good but it wasn't the thick toast I was expecting. Service was pretty good. My husband even asked our server if there were places he'd recommend to go see some live music. He couldn't even tell us despite being a local. He said most of the bars and clubs don't do live music like they used to so he was the wrong person to ask. I guess so. For the most part, it was a fun treat to check out Uptown Sports Club, but we were kind of underwhelmed.

If you love East Austin vibes and crave Louisiana-inspired flavors, Uptown Sports Club is a must-visit! I went with some friends for Saturday brunch, and everything about the experience blew us away. The staff was incredible--one of our servers even shared a bit of the building's history, which made the visit feel extra special. You can tell this spot has deep roots in the neighborhood, and it shows in the care and hospitality they bring to the table. The decor is charming, with a mix of tables, booths, TVs, and a full bar. Outside, the patio is a lush little getaway with greenery everywhere--it's Instagram-worthy for sure!I started with a French 75 ($12), a classic gin cocktail with champagne, lemon juice, and sugar, and it was the perfect way to kick off brunch. For my main course, I had the Shrimp & Grits ($18), and let me tell you, it rivaled some of the best I've had in New Orleans! The creamy grits, seared shrimp, and Cajun butter sauce were absolute perfection. Every bite was comforting and full of flavor.Uptown Sports Club has an incredible story--this building has been part of East Austin since 1949, and Aaron Franklin has done an amazing job bringing it back to life while maintaining its soul. I love that even as a local, I can still learn new things about this city.I can't wait to go back for dinner and try the fresh oysters. If you're looking for great food, cocktails, and an inviting atmosphere, Uptown Sports Club is the place to be! Pricing is fair for the quality you're getting, and it's worth every penny. Make a reservation if you can, especially for weekend brunch. Don't forget to snap a few photos on the patio--it's a stunner!Highly recommend this East Austin gem. 10/10 experience!

Delicious food that was very satisfying. We came here on recommendation from some friends who live in the area and they were so correct! Food is delicious. I got the friend green tomato po boy and my mom got the Franklin BBQ sandwich daily special they had that day. Both were delicious and satisfying. Service was great! Our waiter, I believe his name was Brian, was so funny and nice. We had fun conversations with him and he made sure we had everything when we needed it and our waters were always full. The ambiance is great in here. Like stepping into vintage New Orleans when you open the doors. I appreciated the amount of decor and work that went into making this place what it is.We had a fantastic time and I'm already planning a trip to go back!

Who would've guessed that such a sports bar-named restaurant would give off such cute and chic New Orleans vibes? My friend took me here this weekend, and we were so pleasantly surprised by how nice and good brunch, service, and drinks were. They are really busy, so it's smart to get a reservation. They serve brunch until 3PM, which is also another pro. We actually missed our original reservation time, but they were kind and able to accommodate for a later afternoon time.We sat at the bar, and the bartender was so nice and attentive. He gave us a really good breakdown on some Italian liquors, and the Frozen Moose we ordered was so delicious. It tasted like a frozen rumchata with a lot of yummy homemade vanilla bean whipped cream. I could've had like four of these by myself. We waited for a really long time for food, which is the main reason I am giving -1 stars. I was getting so hangry watching a member of staff slowly plate our food because we definitely were waiting for close to half an hour, and the steak came out really cold. It was cooked medium rare and it also came with two eggs (I chose sunny side up) and super delicious crispy hashbrowns. Our bartender/server noticed the long wait and apologized, and I do think the food was good enough to make up for the wait. Their menu is really awesome, too. I would've had a difficult time choosing what to get because everything sounded so good. I definitely recommend! A really vibey and solid brunch spot.

I really enjoyed dinner here! A gf and I went last minute and we were seated on the patio. The server was super friendly and knew the menu well. We ordered the shrimp poboy, half chicken, and tuna crudo. Shrimp poboy was so good!! Loved the bread and the fried shrimp was cooked nicely. The tuna crudo was bomb and had great citrusy flavor, fish was fresh. I enjoyed the chicken; it has a smoky flavor and the juices were quite flavorful with nice seasoning. The potatoes and carrots it came with were cooked well and a nice accompaniment. The portions are big. It's a casual atmosphere and a great place to check out on the east side.

Finally went to Uptown Sports Club and I was not disappointed! I came in with high expectations since I knew it is Aaron Franklin's place. I want to come back to get some cocktails but being there for a work lunch, I didn't have one. I ordered the gumbo and bacon burger which were great. I would have liked a little more spice in my gumbo but that's just my preference. I want to try a po-boy next time as well. Great atmosphere!
