Located in central downtown Austin, the interior of Uchiba is inviting, well-decorated, and has a festive energy. The large bar wraps around the majority of the restaurant, and is quite comfortable. Service here (as well as Uchi and Uchiko) is always so friendly and inviting. We ordered drinks and a few bites to share. I was told that I was the first to order my drink in quite some time - a low ABV of df dow's white port, midori and soda. The drink had the potential to be quite delicious! Unfortunately, I think it sat too long before I was able to taste - and the ingredients with the most flavor had sunk to the bottom (which was delicious at the end). We split watermelon nigiri, charred broccolini and kinoko skewers. There was truly no highlight because each was flavorful and delicious enough that I am still thinking about them the next day. This is truly a restaurant that requires multiple visits to try all on the menu. I will say do not overlook the broccolini which is perfectly complimented with a yuzu labneh, spicy honey and peanuts. Kinoko skewers are pretty phenomenal as well with brown butter and a delicious broccolini pesto.

What a whirlwind of an evening! Full transparency--my boyfriend and I had a 10:15 reservation for the sushi bar on Valentine's Day but weren't seated until nearly 11:00. We arrived about 20 minutes early (we left early due to potential road closures for the marathon), but by 10:30, we were still standing in the entryway. I went back to the host to check in and was told the table we were waiting on had just ordered dessert, which was frustrating. I pointed out that they would still need time for the kitchen to prepare the dessert, for the guests to eat, pay, and for the table to be cleaned before we'd be seated. The host confirmed this and said they were trying to find another spot for us but were fully booked. I made it clear we didn't want to be seated elsewhere--we booked the sushi bar for a reason.Plenty of Austin restaurants have time limits for reservations, and they really should have enforced that on Valentine's Day. If the other table wanted dessert, it should've been to-go. Making us stand at the front past our reservation time was unacceptable. That said, our first round of drinks and two appetizers were comped, which I appreciated, but the wait still left a sour taste. That aside, I can't recommend the sushi bar enough. Your server is the chef, and they coursed out our meal with plenty of thoughtful recommendations. Our server, Austin, was phenomenal--he single-handedly turned the night around. He deserves 10 gold stars for his service!! Here's what we ordered:Hama ChiliYuka ChipsPho DumplingsTiger Cry BaoSeared ScallopsZero SenHamachi NigiriAkamiKanpachiWagyu TartareMadai CrudoMuki Hotate AburiEverything was absolutely incredible! The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were outstanding. I'll chalk up the late seating to Valentine's Day overbooking, but Austin's service saved the evening. He should be recognized!

We completed the Uchi trifecta with Uchibā, the newest downtown location, and I have to say--I loved it.We started with a selection of appetizers: oysters with wagyu fat and onions, which were incredible until it was noted they tasted like a McDonald's cheeseburger haha, yucca chips, which were so addictive I could have eaten an entire bowl on my own, and masu (ocean trout), reminding me that I should order sashimi at the Uchi restaurants more often. The spicy, saucy karaage was elevated by the addition of yuzu pear chunks, which were absolutely phenomenal. The mushroom hot rock, a unique offering at Uchibā, was exceptionally juicy and flavorful, just as impressive as the wagyu version at the other locations. The madai crudo was another highlight, and by this point in the meal, I was already overwhelmed with happiness. As a surprise for our friend's birthday, Uchiba provided a complimentary yellowtail collar. With its crunchy coating and rich, meaty texture, it was an unexpected delight: something we wouldn't have ordered ourselves but thoroughly enjoyed. The pho dumplings were pure comfort, so good that they should consider selling them frozen for at-home indulgence.Among the other dishes, the spicy tuna roll stood out with its pear and shallot accents, elevating an otherwise classic selection. The short rib dumplings and maguro crudo had similar flavor profiles to things we'd already tried that night but were equally well-executed. The soft-shell crab bao, paired with apple and hot sauce, delivered a fantastic mix of flavors and textures, while the tiger cry pork belly was as good as a pork belly bao could be. Really enjoyed the baos. For dessert, we opted for fried milk, sugar-coated tteokbokki and black rice ice cream with chili crunch. The fried milk was the standout, but it was fun to sample the others.Overall, Uchiba strikes the perfect balance between bringing in Uchi's beloved classics and offering creative, playful additions like daily specials, a variety of baos, and those addictive yucca chips.

Uchibā is a great date night spot! Excellent lighting and a sexy atmosphere with a great bar to pair with it. We're huge fans of Uchi and Uchiko, so naturally we wanted to check out Uchiba as well! The menu is slightly different, with more of a twist towards skewers and buns. They don't have as many fish/sushi options that the other two have, so that was a bit of a let down because I assumed some of the staple items would be at all the restaurants. I love that they offer more cocktail options though, so if you're looking for a nice drink, this is the best one imo.

Made a reservation for 4:30 PM on Valentine's Day. Valet parking was easy to do. You can pay and tip through many different apps. The restaurant is easy to find get inside and friendly customer service right away with a smile. I got my table and it was a patio with heaters. Very nice to feel. The service was great easy to understand and ask questions vegetarian menu was given to me I was able to pick out the choices that I can make into vegans choices so did a lot of modifications, but I got the food choices and I was very happy with them all .it was very busy and each presentation I took a picture of and I was happy with most every single thing that I have had .now the wait time was very long for some things to the point where I cut off two of my menu choices because I was going to be late for my second appointment that night. I was finished dinner at seven and I couldn't push any longer because I had appointment at 7:30 to be at so I had to cancel two of my food choices sadly. I feel the customer service could've been a little bit more upbeat and a little bit more efficient because I did see my waiter talking to another customer just about life for more than two minutes where there was an five tables before dad had asked him for help, including me. The tables were very nice and clean. The only thing I had the problem with my table was the leg was shaking, so the table kept shaking, even though they fixed it for a little bit the table kept shaking. I feel that at some point of time there was over 10 minute wait for each item and it became at some .20 minute weight and it was just nice to be able to ask questions about the menu and get details and I tried something new that was called hot rock, which was a mushroom and you had to almost cook it on like a hot burner yourself, which was a wonderful experience each, and every choice that I made a food menu was very special and unique to me because I was able to make it Vegan and that says a lot because the menu was not vegan at all. I hope to go back and make another reservation and try all my food choices again and also change a few things around now that I have learned from the first time.

I stopped by to enjoy some fresh sushi and unique flavors. I found the concept interesting that it was trying to be more in a bar vibe with nicer food. I enjoyed every bite and enjoyed talking to the team helping me. The service at an Uchi restaurant is amazing! They set the bar pretty high and provide exceptional customer service.

I've never been to any Uchi places so thought I'd start off by going to Uchiba since their happy hour menu is extensive compared to the others. I'm only reviewing the happy hour. I ordered the espresso martini and it's on the bitter stronger side if you like that! I'm more into sweets. The wagyu was a bit under cooked but some might like more red in their steaks, I definitely recommend ordering the skewers to share it comes in two! My friend really enjoyed the crispy dumplings but I did not, it's giving Thai basil vibes. I did enjoy the fried chicken wings with Korean sauce. I got a hand roll also but it was okay nothing exceptional. I do think this is a good place for happy hour, I just have to give it another try. It's better 4-5:30 (tight schedule). They don't offer discount parking and there's valet parking for $15!

This place is our go to place after or before heading to the moody theatre. Drinks, vibe and food is always good. The service is always top notch here. The dessert was pretty fun, never had ice cream with chili crisp! It tasted so yummy and fun. The drinks are solid and they have a very extensive selection of Japanese whiskey.

Nothing like a sophisticated sushi ambience coupled with premium service and friendly staff. Can't go wrong at Uchi.

Their happy hour can get bumpin and for good reason. Great deals on some truly tasty tapas-style sushi and Asian fusion dishes. Servers are friendly and communicative; our server Tristan let us know that the kitchen got slammed but kept us in the loop and apologized for delays which was nice but also totally understandable! Ambiance is great for a date night or an upscale catch-up with a small group of friends.Tbh, the birria bao isn't worth it but the bluefin nigiri and chili hama are.
