Tortas El Guero

Just discovered the spot, loved it at first try! Very delicious food. Cash only venue. Very super friendly.

Finally got to THE bus. The man was very nice and understanding that my Spanish sucks. The Tortas were yummy. I need to start going here instead of the Taco Bell across the street. It's way better and made with love. Cash only!!

Solid Torta place located off Cameron road, just a short jaunt north of downtown. Keep in mind it's cash only but this place was great. A lot of places around Austin tend to put beans in their Tortas which makes them heavy in book. So I always tend to prefer that go a fresher route. Avocado is always a better route. Got the Diabla #6: Milanesa (breaded chicken cutlet), chorizo, avocado, cheese and egg (in an omelette form). Sandwich was big and super reasonably priced at $6.50. Really have to say these Tortas go amazing with hot sauce, and I finished mine up without it feeling heavy. Was surprisingly good, no fuss. They have a ton of different combos you can do, and they only get crazier than what I listed. Bring your appetite for sure!

Food was frecken delicious soda was ice cold! Salsa picosa! Pricing was good too!The guy was super nice! The food was made in a timely fashion!

Stop for this School Bus!!! Tortas El Guero is in the parking lot with Guthrie Cleaners located on Cameron Rd behind Capital Plaza.I had a $2.50 chicken fajita taco and a $5.00 chicken quesadilla. WOW! The chicken fajita taco was served street style...but the serving was generous and well worth $2.50. The quesadilla was cooked perfect with just the right amount of crisp. They do not skimp on the cheese either. It had the right amount of melted cheese to be enjoyed with each bite. My favorite part is that they add fresh sliced avocados to the quesadillas. The homemade hot sauce was very enjoyable too.Tips: They are closed on Wednesdays and only take Cash.

I got off of work late today. The last thing I wanna do is cook. So I came to tortas el Guero and they are honestly the best Mexican style tortas. Number one is my favorite. The food is prepared as you order it so everything is fresh and the cook is Very generous with the ingredients. They have outdoor seating and of course they also make to go orders and you can always have a cold drink with your meal. I am in love with this please oh and did I mention that it's very economic I got to hold meals for $19

Tortas El Guero was around before food trucks were cool. These guys have been doing their mini-school bus thing for well on a couple of years. I've always been impressed by the quality of the food they're pumping out of this spot. This last go round I got a quesadilla with fajita and a sincronizada. The quesadilla was gigantic, stuffed full of fajita, beans, jalapenos and tomatoes. The flavor on those babies is reminiscent of Mexico... and not of dry chicken breast and mozzarella like most places where you order up that particular item. Their sincronizada is different than what I'm used to -- but equally tasty. Ham, cheese and beans between two flour tortillas. Dip it in their legendary green salsa or the smokier tomato based one and it's all you can do not to cram more in your pie hole.Prices are great -- those two items costing me $8 -- and they are ready super fast. Definitely a stop to make if you're at Nomad or Animal Trustees for a filling, inexpensive, local meal.
