This was the local post office for a lot of people in college so it's fun to see it recycled/converted to something new. They have tons of gifts, wines, and odd food items, including Iberian ham flavored potato chips and baby toys. The deli is counter service and there are about five tables inside and a rib outside in a covered area. The prices are big city prices, but I enjoyed my $6 spinach empanada and also the soup and salad combos. There is plenty of parking and a cute little bookstore next door. I took my friend here for her 94th birthday and we had a great time. Hyde Park spots don't seem to have a lot of turnover so it's nice to see something new. Tiny Grocer has two locations, and the Hyde Park location turns into a fine dining French restaurant at night. Think Moules and Steak Frites.

Abby's cappuccino's are absolutely the best in Austin! She serves with grace, kindness, and is a pleasure to chat with at the coffee bar while I'm working on my business, crafts, and waiting to meet a friend for breakfast or lunch. Her presence at the Tiny Grocer along with the older gentleman (forgive me, I forgot his name, I believe he is the manager), create a welcoming neighborhood vibe that is quintessential to Hyde Park. As a resident of Hyde Park for over 6 years, I can truly say that Tiny Grocer and its service staff is a beautiful addition to the neighborhood. Groceries are a bit pricey, but if you are in a rush and need bread, eggs, or feminine products in a pinch, its a delight that they are around the corner. Not enough has been said about the service in Austin Texas, specifically people in the service industry who help create the vibe at establishments throughout the city. Attentive, kind, and communicative staff is the bedrock of excellent service and guest returning to experience not just the food and atmosphere, but also the hardworking individuals that can make you smile.

They have deli counter service during the weekday lunch. The French dip with au jus was yummy with a very deep and rich dipping sauce. It's counter service so you will have to pick up your dish to the side of the counter.Drinks have to be ordered separately at the cafe bar. Get their frozen rose if it's a nice day.As always I like the selection of curated items in the grocery section. Point off because the point of sale system has gratuity on by default ... I can understand this for the deli and the cafe but not the grocery store. It is just annoying that they ask for tip for groceries especially since it's an upmarket place. It is configurable so I'm up in arms why most stores don't configure the gratuity option out or set them to reasonable amounts like 5% or less for minimal services.

Very cute place to work from home or study or grab lunch or brunch. The groceries themselves are a little pricey, but well curated so it's worth it. They have a wonderful selection of wine as well! Can't wait to live walking distance from her in a few weeks!! I'll for sure be a regular

$6 for a tiny empanada!?!? I guess that is why the name tiny grocer, but be sure to bring mucho dinero. I like what they did with the old post office, but this store is for the local Hyde park residents who have money to burn. Nice interior but their AC was on the fritz only a year after opening. I asked if they had half and half. They said yes, but when I checked they had every alternate dairy version but no real half and half. The empanadas were horrible. I've had better from a High School cafeteria. The beef did not taste like beef. Tasted funny. Was probably the vegan beef. If so, say that. Took two bites and tossed it to the dogs. They sniffed it and didn't want to have any part of it. There were so many vegan products in there it smelled like a beverly hills spa. No reason for me to go back here, considering all the alternatives in the area, that have equivalent or better products at much lower price.

Absolutely terrible customer service from 2 employees. All brands of freeze dried mushrooms were marked $12.99 and at the register they rang up at $21.99 so I questioned them. Their response by 2 clerks was the sign was wrong, not just on this one product but all mushrooms, and if it rang at $21.99 that was the price if I wanted to purchase them (2-packages). What store does not have a manual pricing option and does not honor obvious errors in programming, not the sign. Needless to say, I did not purchase and the clerks could have cared less.

So cute!!!! What a fun addition to the neighborhood and great use of the old post office. This space shares a building (other side) with First Light, and the deli/kitchen inside turns into Bureau d'Poste at night. I came in the morning and it was a perfect place to work. Lots of fun pastries and breakfast options, or you could grab n go something from the bodega section. The espresso service was fabulous, and I really enjoyed working from there. Can't wait to go back and peruse the aisles next time.

Such a cute place with so many specialized food items. They have a variety of N.A. spirts and drinks, a deli with picnic varieties, bath and beauty products I've been interested it, and even my favorite canned tomatoes!!! I'm definitely going to go to this place to grab items for a gift basket and/or a picnic. They have so many neat items. I'm worried for my bank account!

Everything is too expensive. I've had stuff from their deli as well as sat outside to dine with them. Portions are very small and price is outrageous for what you're getting. Food lacked good taste, just very bland. This grocery is gentrification central
