The Tailor Shop Bar & Foodery

Came with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not busy which was nice. Our server was helpful with answering all questions. We landed on a margarita and a Moscow mule. I will say it was suppose to be a mule but didn't look like one. My friend said it was not great. The margarita was solid and on happy hour. For our food my friend got a taco plate. We also split the chips and salsa. I ordered the ceviche. The ceviche was good but different from what I have had in the past. The salsa had some great flavors and my favorite was the green one.Our server dropped off our check quite early. They weren't busy but he kept coming by to see if we put cash or card out. We had planned to stay and chat so a little annoying. Never offered more water or if we had wanted another drink. The food and drinks was hit or miss. Their is plenty of parking and an outdoor area

The Tailor Shop Foodery and Bar just opened less than a month ago in the same building that use to be the old Gourdoughs. The first compliment about this place is the staff is exceptionally great! We sat by the bar and they told us all about the food and restaurant and have us recommendations. Super great staff. We went the first week the opened and the inside still needs a lot of work. Needs tables, decor, etc still. Could be updated now but when I went there wasn't much inside. Prices are very reasonable. But the best part was the food. The birria tacos might be the best I've ever had. They are to die for. My friend ended up drinking the rest of the dipping juice after we finished the tacos. The pizzas are personal sized. Wood fired. Very delicious. Ranch costs extra. Pizzeria Grata was a good truck and they combined with the Tailor Shop in this building. Excited to come back and see what they continue to do to the place.Pros: service & foodCons: inside needs to be renovated (Please remove the mannequin statues; they are creepy)

I don't know if this place has found its footing quite yet so it left me a bit bewildered.I thought it was a take on a food hall but it has just two concepts at the moment; one of those options is only available on Tuesdays, so really it's a pizza place and bar that serves tacos occasionally.It's underwhelming as a full-fledged dining establishment because it's set up as a ghost kitchen that just so happens to have seating and a bar. They have a fleet of iPads right at the door for all their third-party delivery/pickup services (not sure if the public can use them) that the bartender (there didn't appear to be any other staff around) was running back and forth to during our visit. Pretty sure she clocked her 10,000 steps that afternoon! Diners are directed to have a seat wherever and order from a QR code at the table. The bartender came over and walked us through the whole process/concept which was nice but then raved about the tacos before dropping the tidbit about them only being available on Tuesdays (it was Sunday). I thought we'd order our beverages directly from her since the bar at least felt like the human touch of it all but the drinks were also on the online menu*... I asked her for a glass of water as she walked away (in addition to the beer I had ordered online) and much to my dismay, she noted that there was an option for water on there, too. And, I'm not talking bottled water, just a glass from the tap!*not sure if we had sat at the bar if we would have just been able to order from her directly but i suspect notI've had Pizzeria Grata delivered before so I knew the food would be good and it came out fine, though the dough was a tad too charred this time around to thoroughly enjoy. The kicker to the whole experience was that everything came out on paper plates and served with plastic ware. It just felt very much like a delivery experience AT a restaurant and when going out to eat, you crave a little more juje, you know?!?They also have these mannequins that might act as scarecrows for thieves in the night but during business hours just make the place look more "we're not sure what we're doing here either."I was hoping for a neighborhood feel that would have me going back regularly for good times and good food so I'll cross my fingers and toes that it gets there eventually.

Those meats were too dry.. my friend ordered this.. taco.. I ordered Calzone pizza. It was too much bread and pretty burnt in outside ...the ingredients in middle were skimpy, cheese not melted, pepperoni chopped super small so I mostly tasted bread...they are generous with the marinara sauce on side..... we ordered drink Mexican martini taste strong good.. but the waiter who is also the bartender didn't come and check on us often.... This place is a bit bizarre. Walked in on a weekday at happy hour time for a drink and it was empty - no one working there to be seen for about 5 minutes. They've done a poor job with the decor - too few tables for how big a space it is and super bizarre dressed up mannequin (what is that about??) After someone finally emerged to meet us at the bar we got a couple of drinks - pricey for wine/beer. They didn't have a cocktail menu yet just a bunch of liquors listed. I do want to try the food eventually but would rather just pick up and take out than sit inside there. They also don't seem to know what the concept actually is - we heard they are going to add a coffee bar and have some food trucks. It already has 2 different food establishments serving food which is convenient but a little disjointed. I hope they can sort out what this place really is. PLEASE get rid of the mannequins!

Boy O BOY I love their cheese steaks! Oh damn and that pizza! Great new(ish) spot that brings something special to the S. Lamar/Manchack area. Their staff is super friendly too. Awesome place to watch the game also!

The service was awesome Trevor was engaging and welcoming . Food was 5 stars !!! Get the birria tacos and that @grata pizza

The service was great. It was pretty slow and the bartender was very attentive. She also brings out the food. She described it as several food trucks in one kitchen, one being a bar, and just order through app and she will bring it. I ordered the street tacos. Very large portion which is good, but all the meats were very dry; chicken, beef, pastor. The homemade corn tortillas were hard. The drinks were really good, the Mexican martini was strong and delicious. I probably won't come back unless someone asked me to. Ambiance is nice but I don't know what it looks or feels like when it's super busy

Barbacoa birria tacos were incredible. Gracie too care of walking us through the menu choices. We also enjoyed the Agua Fresca.

Not bad not great. You order and pay completely on your phone so if you don't like phones at the table good luck. The place itself is hot af - no a/c so wasn't a fan of that. The pizza was pretty good but nothing I'd go back for. It was also a mega bummer that we wanted nice drinks and some snacks and the server isn't present and didn't make my drink even though I ordered it on their stupid app with everyone else. Also apparently the tacos are never there so ‍ Sad replacement for gourdoughs, a one and done for me. Ps. You will also receive cardboard pizza trays and paper plates #wasteful
