The Stonehouse Wood Fire Grill

Tried this place for lunch during our trip to Mueller park today. Were told it would be 20 min wait. It was more like 40-45. Weather was beautiful so wait wasn't horrible. Drinks are canned sodas. Grilled lamb just tasted like steak. Burger and Fries were best thing ordered. Chicken kabob was low on chicken and cilantro rice did not taste or look like cilantro rice. Food was edible and colorful. Taste was eh.

This was a solid burger, not just nice tasting but a decent size too (as you can see from the photo). The truck smelled amazing from a far so I can only imagine what else they were cooking in there. the only draw back I can think if is the fries. They were a bit of a let down I must admit, I think I was expecting them to be softer but they were pretty hard and oily.

I went there to grab an burger cause I was too lazy to drive somewhere and didn't want to pay ubereats upcharge just for a burger and was pleasantly surprised. I got the bbq burger with double patty and double cheese. The patties are huge! Honestly, I would've just gotten a single if I had known they were that huge but it was the most satisfying burger I've had in a while. This may be my I'm too lazy to go anywhere burger place now.

I don't often leave reviews, but I'm doing so in hopes that the business will consider this constructive criticism. Their Yard Bird burger is super delicious, but the menu needs to updated to specify that it is made with a very spicy CHIPOTLE mayo. Currently it is listed as "Mayo." It is a great sandwich. I don't really like spicy things but I was able to eat about half of it anyway just because it was so good, but the spice became too much for me and I had to give up. I'm going to try it without the "chipotle mayo" next time, maybe add some regular mayo, and see how that is. Overall great business and great service. My husband loves the lamb pita. Oh and the seasoned fries are not to be missed!! So delicious and you get a decent amount for only $3.

Stopped by this place on a whim and it was so good!! The owner was so nice and friendly!! I ordered a chicken salad and talk about yum!! I really enjoyed the chicken it was seasoned and prepared so well. Had a little kick to it nothing to crazy. The ranch was divine. I'm a ranch lover so there is that. We can back for snow cones and the were the old time kind. The kids loved them and the were very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back when in the area to try more things!! I would have to say the customer service was the reason for 5 stars. She was friendly and welcoming!!

While I came back to this spot for some more Booty Locos, I decided to try Stonehouse over Conscious Cravings. Debating between the lamb pita and the ATX burger, I went with the latter.It was damn good! However, the toppings were not--in fact--toppings. They were sides. The jalapenos and avocado were literally on the side of my burger and the bacon fell out upon my first bite (see pic). I loved the bun but I didn't like how each bite tasted wildly different. I also uploaded a picture of my receipt because the cashier did not charge me $2.50 for the combo...he made a quick $.50!

I've been here several times over the past year trying different things in the menu and have loved everything I ordered. The fish sandwich is excellent, love the yard bird, and their burgers are so flavorful. Friendly staff too. I've only ever seen two people working here which means they're working hard for this grub. Hope they keep doing well.

So thankful I can call ahead to pick up, especially during this time. My order was ready in 10 minutes! I can't wait to be able to sit outside to enjoy my food, but for now, this is a great alternative.

I ordered the lamb pita and seasoned fries. The tzatziki sauce was good and the fries (that are $3 extra) were nice and hot. However, the pita bread was stale, the fries only had salt and pepper, the lamb was tough and really needed seasoning. I will go back to try a burger but do not recommend the lamb pita.

I'm jealous. Why Austin has more great food trucks and fabulous food truck parks than Houston?I was introduced by Phillip B about his love with Stonehouse Wood Fire Grill's burgers. When I first arrived in Austin, I had to stop by to check out this place. Chase, the chef, was so friendly and easy to talk to. He gave me a quick introduction about the food. I was freezing cold and I didn't want to ruin my dinner with Tracey S. So, I ordered the 4" pecan pie ($5). It was so yummy and it was not as sweet as other pies I had before. Next day, I had The Wake-Up Call Burger. It came with a sunny-side up and the yolk created a dripping mess as I bit to it. I wanted another pecan pie, but they were sold out. I chatted with Anna, owner/operator about how I found this place on Yelp (after the address corrected). She was appreciative. I've never been to their previous location. After I saw the photos from last biz page, I like this location at Mueller Lake Park. In combination with other food trucks, Stonehouse Wood Fire Grill makes a perfect sense for meat-hungry folks after their workout in the park. I found more seating areas besides in front of the food trucks. It looks like I'll be back to Austin more often. I bookmarked it on my GPS, I'll stop at Mueller Lake Park to relax, watch the ducks and enjoy another Chase's creative burger.
