You can't get better than a family-owned business that KNOWS barbecue! My boyfriend and I happened upon this food truck by sheer chance when stopping for gas. With how our experience went, it must be fate!I don't like bone-in wings (I'm more into the boneless "grown-up chicken nugget" version) but I'll gladly eat some more bone-in wings from here time and time again. Everything is done hot and fresh. The smoked wings are to die for. The BBQ sauce is great, fried wings are crispy outside and tender inside, and the brisket is incredible. The folks running the truck were so amazingly kind and funny, they truly felt like old friends or family of ours despite never having met them before!!!If you want community & great eats, THIS IS THE PLACE!

Had the wings (smoked), ribs and potato salad and it was all so good. I really appreciated the friendliness of the guy working the window. Food was tasty and the wings were HUGE! Enjoyed it and happy to come back in the future.

Glad to see a new BBQ spot off Menchaca, was greeted nicely, and wanted a sample, ordered the 6 count wing ($9) and I can say these wings pack a punch, smoked perfectly, the skin was crispy I mean just a great wing that i would be proud of. As soon as I got my To go order my truck filled with this nice smoke smell that needs to be an air freshener these guys should sell!!! Thanks again and will be back to try the other menu offers. Super excited to try the turkey leg next.

Finally we're south Austin is slowly but surely getting better food options. This bbq is a welcomed relief to the mediocre food scene here. Even better, the owner and chef is a great guy and goes out of his way for customers. He gave one customer extra wings so her co-workers could have some. Welcome to south Austin Smok'in Shack!

Give this place a try! Have had a few things and they're all good. Rib tips, wings, turkey leg, brisket taco with queso. All real good. Very smoky. The taco and the wings are probably my favorite things. The folks working are always very friendly and helpful. Love having this spot down south.

Stumbled upon this GEM in search of lunch today. Elton greeted us personally coming out from behind the register and from the jump it was a wonderful experience! He recommended the wings and I fell in love with the spicy bacon ranch sauce- so much that I was eating it by the spoonful! Not to mention the blueberry lemonade is now my new favorite drink in the world. There was plenty of seating and it felt as though I was visiting with family. We got to know Elton and his love for his craft and I can't wait to try everything on the menu! This spot I would recommend to any and everyone. The pricing is perfect and the friendliness and joy that Elton shared with us made it that much more worthwhile. IT WAS A SLAY!!

This has been the best BBQ place I've ever been too! The wings and brisket were fantastic. The owner was super sweet and attentive. Everything had a great price and lots of variety in flavors and food! Will definitely come again!

Yes!!! Us southern Austinites finally have top grade BBQ spot!!! I got the chopped brisket sandwich, and it was perfect!! The amount of meat was impressive, and each bite was so very favorable with deep smokiness! I'm usually hard to please, but this BBQ was so top notch, I can't wait to return. BTW, their smoked chicken wings were amazing too!!

Stopped by and glad I did! I had delicious pork ribs, smoked for hours fall off the bone. Tasty! Baked beans with best I've had and servings so large. Elton, one of the owners was very friendly and aim to please. Please visit his barbecue trailer and let's keep him in our part of town, good food down here not easy to find.
