The Grace Miller Gracie's

Camping at Bastrop State Park and went into town for a Mardi Gras festival. Ate lunch here. Very popular and so very crowded. Our waitress was very good but very busy. They have inside and outdoor seating. Wooden walls mixed with corrugated tin to give a country rustic atmosphere. It is a nice atmosphere and we had a really nice lunch. The modified the hamburger steak for me and removed the gravy and added cheese and grilled onions, instant smash burger.I would recommend them and definitely eat here again!

So I love supporting local businesses when I go to small towns, that have a lot of history. I was excited when we found Grace Miller. Their website looked amazing, and they also had a full bar. We called ahead to see what the wait was, because in Bastrop, especially older buildings, they tend to have limited space. We were told that there was plenty of space for our party of 3 and we were right around the corner. When we walked in, it was packed, and we had to sit at a little table, because one person was sitting at a 4 top. Our waitress came over and gave us menus and said she would be with us shortly. Probably about 5 to 10 minutes later, another group of 4 came in and sat right across from us, and they actually had their order taken before us. Then the waitress came over to us and said, did you hear what I told them, when she talked about the specials. We said no, and she went ahead and repeated the specials. I ordered the grilled trout, with green beans and the mashed potatoes. My husband got the chicken fried steak and my kid got the catfish platter.My trout was pretty good. It was seasoned well. My mashed potatoes were decent. But what I didn't know when I ordered the green beans is that they have meat in them and I am pescatarian, so I asked for another side. I chose corn and it was brought out quickly, but when we got the receipt , I was disappointed because they charged me extra to get another side even though I did not eat the green beans. My daughter's catfish came with 2 filets. One was cooked well, but 1 was undercooked. She got French fries for her side and they were good. My husband's chicken fried steak was okay. It wasn't necessarily seasoned as much as he would have liked it, but no major complaints. He also got sweet potato fries for his side. But they were cooked to the point of almost being burnt. So personally, will we come here again? Probably not, we were not impressed with the service and the food was just mediocre. I have gone to other places in Bastrop and had much better food and dining experiences.

This has got to be the best place to eat in Bastrop ! It was packed the food is fresh home.cooking.and best real chicken fried steak Mashed , potatoes that will make you gain weight looking at them green beans so fresh and cooked to perfection

Love me some Gracie's! The staff are personable and down to earth, the home cooked food reminds me of my grandmother's - very comforting and yummy (especially the chicken fried steak), and it's located right in a cute nook of downtown Bastrop. There's often live music on the back patio, which can be nice to kick back and have a drink on. Overall, it's a Bastrop gem!

Yes y'all we went to Grace Miller's and Allison and the Wild Guys were phenomenal!!!!! The music was so fun and her vocals were on point!!! Yay mom for being her cheeleader!!!!! It was so fun!!!!!!The food was great and everyone was having a fantastic time. There was never a dull moment with the band!!!!

The meatloaf is so amazing! You can get it on Wednesday for the lunch special. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive! The seating is dated, but comfy

Review update - Raising from three stars to four because of what they add to the Bastrop night life. They had the best Friday night live music in town tonight. The outdoor seating area was full of smiling people. And a good time was had by all :-)

Today we had meatloaf With angel hair pasta and green beans plus a mushroom Swiss burger. Everything very delicious as usual; service wonderful; And we sat outside in the dog friendly area and had a good time.

I have been going here for years and years. Since the place was taken over by a new owner, there have been some marked changes. First, although the food quality is about the same, the portion sizes are hit and miss. We had a chicken fried steak last night and it was half the size of the original chicken fried although it was very good. The biggest thing is the service. I rarely get prompt courteous service like we used to. Takes forever for them to acknowledge you and once they do, the process takes forever. We went on a Friday night and the dining room was half empty........15 minutes to get drinks, 20 minutes to order, almost 40 minutes to get food with a half empty restaurant. I remember when you couldn't even find a table in the evenings.
