Food and service was great! They have limited hours so definitely check to make sure they are open. Enjoy a nice meal and then walk over to the tasting room for a glass of wine. This is a great casual spot for dog & wine lovers.

This place was wonderful! Obviously if you are enjoying the wine and the view how could it not be good but i was extremely impressed with the food here. Incredibly diverse menu so anyone can find something they'll like. The veggie plate is great and I loved the Thai noodles, both great on a warm day. That was my first time out to driftwood but the good atmosphere and delicious food has me wanting to come back out. Service was also great. Our waitress was super kind and taking care of all of the tables, so I highly recommend getting a bottle of wine next door before ordering because it could take a minute but we didn't mind at all!

First, the Driftwood Bistro is on the grounds of Driftwood Estates winery, just off RR 12 south of Dripping Springs. There are several things to be said about that. First, be prepared for the rough, rocky driveway up the hill to the grounds. Once on top, though, the vista is splendid, especially as the sunset rolls across the hills beyond and the flats below. The grounds are lovely and spacious and pleasing. It is an exceedingly pleasing setting.Beyond that, the Bistro is on one side of the hilltop and the wine house on the other. The Bistro doesn't have a liquor license, so you have to walk across the grounds to get a glass or bottle to go with your meal. An inconvenience. Their wines are middle of the road, and the selection of wines by the glass are very limited as far as whites go.The Bistro has a pretty experimental and ambitious menu, with creative choices and options. We had the Caribbean Shrimp and Rice and the Open-faced Stuffed Avocado. The avocado dish was superb, with the featured avocado just the right level of ripeness, tender grilled chicken and a picante that was dynamite. The salsa Fresca and crema helped create a very satisfying entre. The flavors both blended and contrasted with each other. A very nice choice of a cool dish for a summer evening. The shrimp dish, on the other hand, was disappointing. It was tepid, to start with. And the shrimp had a very fishy flavor. The sautéed squash was credible, but overall it was disappointing. Service was cordial. Lexi, our server, was very warm and welcoming and attentive. It was not her fault that the shrimp wasn't the proper temperature The Bistro gets a 'maybe' on this visit, with hopes that they will improve on speed out of the kitchen and address that glitchy separation of wine bar and restaurant. The place has much going for it, and, if they can up their game, it will be a killer destination.

This is a very nice place to visit. What makes it especially great are the views and the setting between the winery and the bistro. There is actually green, green grass and tables to sit and enjoy the view. Very charming. There is a separation between the winery and bistro, but I wasn't bothered since I was simply amazed at the beauty of the overlook. And then again I was with great company that made it a lot better. After purchasing our wine, we headed to the bistro and were early enough to sit where we wanted. The menu is on QR code which a little annoys me. I rather have a paper product to look at. That's my personal choice. The menu is also limited, but again allows for the bistro to focus on some really good menu choices. We had a little bit of a lot. And it was all good. The caprese salad was nice. Minature mozarella on thin slices of tomatos with the right amount of balsamic and olive oil mix. The calamari was crunchy and very fresh. Although it comes with marinara sauce, I did not think it needed it. It was a little salty, but still edible.Cobb salad was very good and there was enough to take home.We had two BBQ Chicken Ranch Wraps that were quite flavorful. And finished our meal with both the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Fried Raspberry Cheesecake. They were both awesome, but I think the Pineapple wins. Unfortunately, they do not have coffee. A good cup of coffee would have been the icing on the cake.Waitress was great.Tables were space appropriately allowing for intimate settings and not on top of one another where all can hear each other's conversations. It's a good choice for a romantic evening or just to get away from the hustle and bustle.

If you're looking for a nice spot to relax, enjoy good wine, nature and food, this would be the spot to check out. I've been a member of the wine club here roughly two years now, but yet have I had the pleasure of joining them for the "Sunset Dinner"! It was so peaceful and relaxing. I definitely will return and I totally recommend. Ask for Lisa, Mark's wife, she's pretty cool.

Nice place for lunch overlooking hill country at Driftwood Estates. The ribeye quesadilla was great. Waitress was so friendly and efficient. Buy your wine at the Winery & walk over to the Bistro for a great outdoor lunch with awesome views. (They can't sell wine at the Bistro).

We were greeted at the front entrance by a woman informing us we can't bring our 5 month old into the restaurant or winery because he's not 21. Really disappointing, this has to be the only place in town that doesn't allow kids.

Went to the bistro last night. This is a great setting to sit outside with friends, drink wine and sample their tapas. We had the trio dip ( guacamole, salsa and queso), the deviled eggs with lox and the fried pickles. All good choices. Our waitress was very attentive and upbeat. It is unfortunate that the dinner fell short. We were looking forward to our choices but the entrees were lukewarm to cold. My Croque Monsieur was cold as were the truffle French fries...very disappointing. Seems like there must be a disconnect between the kitchen and the wait staff. We really had a good time, however, next time we will just stick with the tapas and there is a great selection.
