Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers

We've been wanting to try this newish place on Hudson Bend for a while, so today was the day. It absolutely did not disappoint! There's only 2 outdoor tables and we were lucky enough to get 1. We always have our dog with us so this was important. I just wish they had room for more!Anyway, I ordered the Canadian Bacon Omelet with asparagus and and nice light hollandaise. It was like having eggs Benedict without the bread - which is what attracted me to it. Delicious! My husband couldn't resist the Chicken Fried Steak. It was lightly crusted and so tender you could cut it with a fork! The gravy tasted house-made and lightly peppered. He pretty much devoured it. The staff was attentive despite being outside, and we chatted a while with the friendly owner who is originally from San Antonio. Great guy with great stories of his uncle growing up. If you're looking for a truly local delicious breakfast of lunch experience, I highly recommend you drop in!

We recently discovered this restaurant on Yelp and have to admit the menu is right up our alley. All day breakfast is a great go-to for younger, picky eaters.Our picky eater had nothing but great things to say about the eggs and French toast. The waffles are delicious and the Rachel's Queso and Eggs was well received as well.The service was quick and everything was accurate and on point.We'll definitely be going back here soon!

This is one of those places I wouldn't have thought to stop in if not for a recommendation from a friend but I'm glad I did. It's not fancy but it is REAL. Real cozy. Real food. Real delicious.

Easily one of the best breakfast restaurants around ATX i've tried so far! The quality of everything was top tier, as soon as the food came out and I saw the bacon I knew I would be coming back. The waffle was light and airy and you could tell the butter was high quality! Danny stopped by our table to make sure everything was up to standard and explained where they source everything from :) Very comforting environment, will be coming back soon! PS: it's seat yourself

We actually wanted to the Saigon cafe which is next door to the Texas toast joint but they were closed for Christmas. We were too hungry to drive elsewhere so took a chance and walked into this place. We were glad we did.Anuya loves omelettes and theirs was pretty good. I got the Waffle and fried chicken and it was delicious. The kid also got an omelette with Chorizo and that was really good.In all we liked the place, might go back for brunch one of these days.

Fantastic food and service. This place is great on every front, one of the best tasting chicken fried steaks around!

My wife and I traveled to Austin this past weekend and were hunting for a place to grab some brunch. We came across the reviews of this place on Yelp and thought, "What the heck! Let's try it!". The place was a little challenging to spot at first since it's in somewhat of a strip of businesses, but once we saw the tables outside, it was clear where it was. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a couple of the employees. We sat at the bar and ordered cups of their "Dam Good Coffee". True to its name, it was DAMN GOOD! My wife ordered a 2-egg over-easy breakfast with bacon, hash browns, and Texas Toast. I ordered the waffle breakfast with bacon and two extra scrambled eggs (4 eggs total). When the food came out, it looked delicious, and it was clear that this was not just made with ingredients from the local HEB! My first bite of the eggs and bacon was an explosion of flavor, and I knew that we had picked correctly when we chose this place. Literally, every single thing we tasted was incredible. A couple of minutes into our meal, the owner, Daniel, came by and chatted with us about where he sourced all their ingredients from, what he hoped he was establishing as "their brand" and how the name of the restaurant came to be. It was an absolute pleasure speaking to him. I think the biggest compliment I could give is that my wife told him, "I usually have to give instructions on how to cook the bacon (extra crispy) and things like that, but I forgot when I was ordering... but all the food came out of the kitchen like you had read my mind!" Now I can't wait to go back and try about 15 other items that they have on the menu! Thank you so much to Daniel and his staff for making our visit to his restaurant such an amazing experience! WE WILL BE BACK!

The food here is very good. The power buys top grass feed beef etc. The service is always friendly. The owner has came up and talked with us several times and has even refilled drinks for us. It has that little country restaurant atmosphere and we really enjoy this place.

The service was fast and the food was great, we had the omelet, the waffle and the chicken fried steak.
