The strip mall that this restaurant located in is pretty underwhelming and honestly a bit janky but when you walk in the door you'll be greeted with a cozy well decorated modern restaurant with soft welcoming Chinese music. The menu can look confusing at first but feel free to ask the waiter because they are super nice. Basically 3 main choices to choose from: - Dry noodles- Noodle soup that is cooked for you- Personal hotpot like soup where you cook the ingredients yourself. Dry noodles with sliced beef (4/5)Don't let the name fool you. It's dry noodles but it's not that dry. It's quite saucy. A tad on the salty side. Noodle is really soft. This dish is simple but it's got good flavor but just a tad salty for me. I do wish there was a bit more veggies to complement the dish.Noodle soup pre cooked with beef stew meat (5/5)This bowl of noodles has so much going on there. They are really generous with the meat and ingredients. The beef stew is very soft and tastes like it's been cooked for a long time. The ingredients include things like cabbage, various meat, lettuce, ham, quail egg and some pickled cabbage. The flavor profile here is excellent and tasty with a slight hint of tanginess from the pickled cabbage. All this comes in a copper pot to keep this dish hot throughout the end. The food comes out lightning fast and service great. I'll come back to try the fish option next time!

I'm definitely an outlier opinion because I didn't love Ten Seconds that much. There's another location in Houston that I've been to years ago, and I also remember it being just okay. I appreciate that Austin has some new Chinese options. Staff is super friendly, and they were even giving out nice mugs as a Chinese New Year celebration. My friend and I got the chicken appetizer and the condensed milk and fried buns combo. I'm a huge fan of condensed milk and fried buns, and it's typically a menu item only seen at hot pot places. It really hit the spot, and the buns were fried perfectly. I also enjoyed the cold chicken app. It was pretty spicy, and the peanuts were a great addition. I don't love the entrees or the rice noodles. That's just a personal preference because I prefer chewier noodles rather than super silky noodles. I also agree with another reviewer's thoughts that the broth is quite boring. It doesn't really make me want to keep eating it, and the toppings included are just okay as well. It's a pretty one-dimensional entree, so I only ate a few bites before I felt like I was full.

This chain has finally made its way to Austin! Perfect on a cold night, Ten Seconds is all it takes for your food to basically cook through in the hot broth. It's like mini hotpot more or less. Some stone pot dishes come preassembled, but otherwise you can do it yourself. I got the pork rib one and the broth is rich and meat was tender enough. Add some chili oil on the side and you're good to go. It's hearty, warming and sort of healthy? Soul food is good for you right? As for sides, the popcorn chicken, smashed cucumbers and spicy beef tendon were all very good to share, especially the tendon. Would highly recommend some of the appetizers if you're in a group! Can get crowded, especially on the weekends, so try going off hours.

Most of the other hotpot places in town right now have been kind of a letdown for me, but Ten Seconds was fabulous! The service was friendly and very attentive and the ambiance is a LOT better than when Tokyo Sushi and Ramen occupied the same space. It's got a really warm, cozy vibe with some beautiful accents. Several booths for 4, and a long table in the middle that can accommodate larger groups or be split up for smaller ones. The food was definitely the star though, as it should be. My friends got the chicken rice noodle and mushroom rice noodle soups from the middle of the menu. Both were happy with their meals, but the friend who tried my mala hotpot said it was the best thing on the table. (The items in the middle row of the menu come out pre-cooked with all the ingredients added into the broth, while the menu items on the left come out with steaming hot broth and individual ingredients that you can add to your hotpot as you please.) The Szechuanese mala broth was incredible. It had the same tingly spice that you get at other places like Soupleaf, but the flavor was a lot richer and more complex. I'm guessing it has some beef broth or pork broth as the base. The toppings were also surprisingly good! You get tofu, corn, cooked greens, scallions, a qual egg, nice chewy rice noodles and some other stuff, and at least 5 slices of the really good thinly sliced brisket that melts in your mouth. More toppings can be added for an extra charge. I debated adding on more beef because it was SO yummy, but ended up being full with what I had. Price-wise, it was also definitely cheaper than other similar places, so wins all around!

Wowowow! New Chinese place just opened up in Austin. There was a line outside, but it didn't take too long for us to get in. The noodle soup I got was so delicious! You can choose the broth and the meat that goes inside. Normally, you would get the ingredients separately to switch in the noodles for 10 seconds to cook but since they were busy, we had all of the ingredients inside already. Pork ribs taste great, I even ate the soft part of the bones hahah. The AC is not cold enough inside though. The warm noodles make it really hot inside. Portion is just right, I finished the whole bowl! I will come back for sure. Great noodle place!

My friend wanted noodles for Lunar New Year so we tried this place out. It was a little difficult to find, but now that we know it's by Pluckers, we'll be sure to enter the plaza in the correct spot. The staff were very friendly. Since it was our first time, they walked us through the menu. On this day they were giving away cute teacup sets. What a nice surprise. The menu is not extensive, but there should be something for everyone, even vegetarians like me. The hot pot my friend got looked great with the tray of toppings. They have a several level spice scale, so everyone should be able to tailor their meal to their liking.

The rice noodles and soup truly warm your soul on a cold winter night. I've visited their locations in Houston before and love this place. You can't really find Yunnan rice noodles anywhere else. I love getting their mala soup base, but it honestly felt a little too salty today. I usually get the sliced beef but decided to try the stewed beef today. The stewed beef was a little chewy, wouldn't really recommend it over the sliced beef for an extra 3 dollars. I tried my partner's fish and that was amazing. I'll probably choose fish as my protein next time. Wood ear mushrooms were great and had a perfect balance of vinegar and chili oil. Seating is limited and they did just open, so getting a table could take a while at peak times.

Perfect for a cold rainy day (or any day, really). The seats filled up pretty quickly after 6:30 on a Tuesday night. The interior is really cute and explains the history of this specific noodle dish from Yunan, which I grew up eating versions of it in Taiwan. It's very much comfort food for me. They still have a couple items missing from the menu since they just opened recently, but I'm mainly here for the soup noodles. We got a couple appetizers like the smashed cucumber ($7.99) and spicy fried tofu ($8.99). Both were good but the tofu was labeled crunchy and it's not really crunchy it's also the kind of tofu that has a nice chew to it and not like "real tofu" if you know what I mean. Tasty tho! I got the fish maw chicken soup ($20.99) and it was a rich yellow color that was collagen-packed. The flavors are good, a bit on the salty end, but I liked it a lot. The noodles got a good chew & the chicken is nice and tender. It was a generous portion too and I took some to-go. Definitely get the brown sugar rice cake for dessert ($8.99) - amazing crunch, nice and chewy/gooey center. You won't regret it.

Came in on a chilly night for some hot soup and noodles. The food is authentic and good and the restaurant is nice and clean with interesting decor and Chinese pop music playing. Pretty much everyone else dining was Chinese so you know it's a good spot. The service was also really friendly.I liked the variety of the toppings that come with the noodles and presentation. We chose the traditional beef option which meant we put in the ingredients ourselves which was fun. I felt the original pork broth was a little mild in flavor and my partner's hot and sour broth was quite spicy so we ended up combining the two which made a perfect flavorful broth. We also had the simmered chicken which was quite sweet for my taste but fragrant.

The presentation of the food was beautiful! Definitely made me drag myself here after seeing many posts on Instagram and Facebook about this spot. I didn't love my golden broth so much, it tasted quite boring, flat and uninspired. The flavors failed to come together for some reason, leaving a one-dimensional taste that's mostly sour and salty. However, I'm glad I tried my brother's Mala broth. It was very flavorful, had the perfect smoky flavor and wasn't too overwhelmingly spicy or numbing, which I liked. I would definitely come back for the Mala broth and I'm usually not a fan of Mala. This place is perfect for those who prefer non-AYCE option. Very good service. My waiter was such a good salesman! He was so knowledgeable about the menu. Very small and cozy restaurant. If you come during peak hours, expect a bit of a wait.
