Taste on Main

The food and service was amazing! My brother and I came for brunch and I think there was a festival that day so parking sucked. Otherwise, I'd definitely come here again.

Looking for a Brunch place and Yelp brought me here. This is a very nice trendy place. The outside seating is excellent. . Not too cold outside but the portable heaters were on. The food is amazing. The Texas Melt is done to perfection. Seasoned just right. The is big enough for two. The breakfast is done to perfection as well. Michigan our waitress was excellent.

Taste on Main is a classy small dining venue on Buda's Main Street. The remodel/upgrade is charming and quaint in an upscale Buda kind of way. Service is prompt and friendly. Seating is comfortable, and there's plenty of it when you factor in the reasonably shady outside dining area. The service is prompt, informative, cordial and affable. The hostess showed great consideration for my knee-walker bound limitations and found us easy-to-access seating. For a first time, lunchtime visit, we stuck to the lunch menu fare. My Bad Ass BLT was true to its name. The locally-sourced bacon was thick, with a pleasant balance of fat and lean. The aioli complimented it well without masking it. The lettuce and tomato were fresh, though the tomato was out of season and not very flavorful. Their homemade potato chips knocked it out of the park. Those are tough to do (I know, I've tried), and Taste delivered in top notch fashion. My companion was very pleased with her shrimp ceviche and corn chips, all fresh. We looked over the brunch and dinner menus. They are compelling, but you have to recognize that the cost of prime beef steak is gonna set you back. Here and anywhere. What intrigued me was the smallish offering of fresh raw oysters, including some PEIs. We'll be back in the evening sometime to try some of all that!

My best friend took me to Taste on Main for my birthday dinner and we had such a lovely time! We sat outside on the treehouse patio and the weather was great and it's a very cute little seating area. Our server as very attentive, but not overbearing. He checked in often and made sure we had everything we needed. They have a great happy hour and my friend ordered her double smash burger from that menu. She said it was very good. I had the bolognese and I was the perfect portion and it was pretty good!! I wished the pasta was different just because the sauce didn't make it into the little pockets, but I would order it again. The queso was good, the beef gave it a great flavor but it was very thick. The chips were delicious. Since it was my birthday they brought out some crème brûlée and it was good! The house wine was good, especially at the happy hour price ($7) and my friend loved her cocktail and said it was very balanced. I loved this spot and glad I finally tried it and will definitely be back.

This is my favorite place in Buda! Highly recommend! Their lobster roll is the best in the Austin area honestly, however I think they changed the bread the last time I came, which is what made it so much better than your typical lobster roll that falls apart. Just here to say bring back the lobster roll pocket or pouch

Ah main street Buda, the place stuck in years from long ago yet certain aspects were allowed to sneak through and be updated. Located smack dab in the middle on the strip, Taste on Main appears to be a building repurposed several times yet found a good balance old and new. The outside isn't much to consider with the old worn bricks, limited curb appeal and a courtyard to the left however once you're inside the magic begins to unfold. The bar dominates the eyes demanding attention with mahogany and mirrored bar back shelving, faux fancy leather chairs, but a choice selection of oysters right there in the middle of the bar countertop. The tables are extremely simple evoking an air of simplicity, yet hiding what could be an extraordinary dining experience in terms of culinary creativity, selection and execution. Now truth be told while I'm a former chef I only popped in for a couple drinks and a crème brûlée. So I can't speak on the main attraction so I'll speak to what I do know. First, I highly advise getting reservations as they do fill up quickly. Next the bartenders are outstanding and quick to fill your requests. The spirit selection is top notch as I indulged in a Jefferson's bourbon and coke. The old fashioned is crafted with care and extremely tasty as well. As for the brûlée it was basic yet on the money. Creamy with berries cutting the richness of the custard and a perfectly "burnt" sugar topping. Again I did scan the menu and found several items I would love to sample on a repeat visit. I don't think anyone could go wrong giving Taste on Main a shot. It's in a safe and nostalgic part of town, the staff are friendly and everything the do is done with care and precision. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

We came here on a Sunday for brunch. There were 3 of us, and we sat at the bar. We ordered some good cocktails, and each of us ordered a variety of dishes: ceviche, tuna tostadas, chilaquiles, and steak & eggs. We were very impressed by the food as well as the drinks - this is such a great spot in Buda. The ambiance is great, the interior design is classy, and service was on point. I consider this a top 5 for me in Buda.

Had a business luncheon here and this "Taste on Main" in downtown Buda was "Buda-Licious" Snazzy Casual place or joint with great menu options with excellent service....Josh was a our server & he was on top of his game providing worthy services. Super Big Tasty Smashburger cooked to perfection & crispy house cut fries...Yummilicious Cool atmosphere inside and outside.....Loved the whole visit & super clean location with impressive facilities too....

This was not our first time here and because we really have enjoyed the food, drinks, service and atmosphere, I decided to celebrate the wife's birthday.Made a reservation for brunch for 16 family members to celebrate my wife's birthday. Originally, the reservation was outside but as the week progressed, the weather just looked terrible and ended up asking to move it inside. Chase, the manager, made it happen and was able to accommodate us inside.Service was great and friendly, food was fantastic, even for the amount of people in the party. Normally, when we roll that deeper or deeper at other restaurants, there is usually a couple of issues with the orders. Not today! Kudos to the team as they didn't miss a beat.Thank you all for everyone at Taste for making brunch a super special one. See y'all soon for some of that frozen Irish Coffee and bloody mary's!

I enjoyed my visits to Taste and came to the restaurant because it was on the Ultimate Beef Trail. The first visit they were so busy that we sat at the bar and I enjoyed the mezcal cocktail and had a lobster roll that was very tasty. There were large pieces of lobster that was served on a toasted bun. The second visit I took advantage of the happy hour and had the margarita and baked Rockefeller oysters with bacon and spinach. The oysters were a good size and were baked to perfection with a nice crust. I loved the yellow tail beet ceviche that was served with tortilla chips. However, the restaurant honored my request to bring out some kettle chips which I enjoyed more with my ceviche. Love the ambiance of the restaurant and nice upscale feel for downtown Buda. Enjoyed everything I tried so far. Happy hour prices are cheaper but the serving sizes are smaller as well.
