Taqueria La Canaria

Found this great spot in north Austin, super friendly employees with a great selection of foods and accessible location! The breakfast tacos were really good, a tortilla de harina (flour tortilla) with bean and cheese and one with potato and chorizo was a great breakfast combo, exactly what I was crazing. 5/5 I also got a beef fajita quesadilla that was very good, good amount of cheese (4/5, the meat was a bit chewy) + paired with the green salsa made it so much betterThey were very quick in making the food, 10 minute wait time, max. They do not sell drinks unfortunately, I believe it's because they're located next to a corner store, but not entirely sure the reason behind that, just that someone doesn't allow them to sell drinks. Great experience, will definitely be back if I'm back in north Austin!

Walked over from my apartment. It's super convenient for a car too because the convenience store it's attached to often has available parking. The ladies inside the truck were very nice. Took my order perfectly. I only had to wait about 5 mins with other orders ahead of me. I ordered two breakfast tacos. Pretty basic order. It was packaged well and the food was hot hot hot! I definitely want to come back and try some of the lunch tacos.

It's hard to go wrong with breakfast tacos in ATX and this spot is no exception. After going on a Saturday morning when they opened at 8 a.m., here's my experience:1) Food: They have a full taco menu, including a large breakfast taco menu. For one hungry person, three breakfast tacos is plenty. I ordered a ham taco, a chorizo taco and a bacon taco. The winner was the bacon. Use all the salsa it comes with! They also give you an option of a flour or corn tortilla. 2) Price: For three medium-sized breakfast tacos, my bill was $7.50. This taco truck in a parking lot used to be cash only, but now they accept major credit cards.3) Seating: There are a few picnic tables in the shade nearby.

Confirmed... Consistently delicious! Had the Al pastor again and tried the picadillo, yummm

I live in the neighborhood and can't believe I drove past this place for four years without stopping by. Now I know better. The barbacoa is always great.They're open Monday - Saturday from 7am - 3pm.

It's still open!Authentic, simple, and nourishing food. It's cash only, but the price is right.

Wonderful staff, great atmosphere, and waaaay too close to home for me not to stop by. These women are the closest I will get to local Austin culture...especially living in North Loop! I ordered the breakfast tacos--two bacon and egg and one potato, bean, and cheese. Absolutely delectable! Cash only!

My husband introduced me to this place and it did not disappoint. Beef tacos are so good with handmade tortillas.

This taqueria is excellent. The food is fresh and delicious, and the women working here are very helpful and kind. My Spanish is very bad, and they were quite patient and gracious with my attempts to order en espanol. There is a nice place to sit and wait for your order or eat. I highly recommend the barbacoa gordita- it is delicious and I will be coming back for another very soon. I ordered a big order for work, and everyone loved it!
