Hearing this place described as a speakeasy taqueria definitely piqued my interest, and I'm happy to say they delivered on the vibes! You go through a side alley into a door under a neon "tacos" sign, find yourself in the tiniest little bar I've seen (also a great vibe) and go through a big metal door on the right side. The decor is pretty bare bones and seating is sparse, but it somehow manages to nail a Mexico City-like atmosphere. We ordered one of almost everything on the menu, and loved every one of the meat options (even the chicken was yummy, but not unexpectedly, it was also the one I'd probably skip next time.) The nopal had a nice citrusy pop to it too, but the carne asada was my number one, followed by the adobada. The volcan (corn tortilla with crisped up cheese) was awesome but the regular corn tortillas fell a little flat. The flour tortillas were sooooo good though. Super thin, almost see-through, and just like a chewy little hug for the ingredients inside. All of the salsas impressed us too. Probably my biggest surprise of the night was their flan. I got it mostly just because I love sugar, and for the first second, it had that slightly rubbery texture that flan sometimes has, but then it just melted in my mouth. I usually love the syrup that gets poured over the flan for its caramelized flavor, but the entire flan had that *deeply browned but not burned* sugar taste. Yum.

My bestie introduced me to these delicious tacos the night before my conference started. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was walking distance from JW Marriott. It's located right in front of the Austin Convention Center, so during the day, it can be quite busy with the line winding out the door.We got there at night, and it's down a small alley between other food establishments. The neon taco sign entices you to check it out. Might look sketch, but trust me, it's worth it. There wasn't a long line when we went on a Sunday night. Walking in, there's a small bar to the left and a TV on the right. Reminded me of a mini club space but then you walk around to line up and order, and it looks like a diner. You might think there's not enough seating, and maybe there's not, but there's a mix of counter seating with counter stools, a few small tables inside and outside and table tops for standing room. Honestly, the tacos are so good and authentic that you'll scarf down the tacos in like 3 minutes. We ordered the carne asada and adobada (pastor) on corn tortillas. I also ordered a Mexican Coke and flan. Took the last piece that evening. It's kept in the refrigerated section in a small, round foil container. The flan was ok. Maybe the refrigeration made it a little more dense. Could be creamier and silky. I like that they make it how my family and friends do - Filipino style. The tacos are 5 in (says in their sign/menu). I like that it's kind of cone-shaped when they wrap it in paper. Makes it like a takeout taco to walk and eat. The carne asada steak was great paired with the guac, onions and cilantro which is all the way. You can request what you want/don't want. The abogada (pastor) was my fave. I love how they slice the marinated pork from the roaster like Mediterranean style. It leaves some crispy edges or bits and paired with a few pieces of pineapple, it's chef's kiss. Literally took my coworkers here the next day during our conference lunch break just to have it again. I got to try the nopal tacos, too. They grill the nopal, and it still has a slight crunch and tart flavor. I've never had nopal, but it was good! All of the 3 salsas are great and range from mild to spicy.I would definitely come back here to try the Volcan, which is a crunchy version of the taco with the meat and cheese. Yum. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! They also have quesadillas and burritos. If you're in Austin for conference, visiting a friend, going to ACL or SXSW, or just because it's fun, you MUST go here.

After reading about this place I had to bookmark it and had to go check it out. It's located in this alleyway and it's a bit shady and not well lit. However, you will spot the sign and walk inside. The spot reminds me of los tacos out in nyc. Los tacos has a particular taste so I wanted to see if taqueria was just like it too. It's setup like los tacos too where you need a ticket to get your food. They have a condiment section for you. This place has no frills and what you see is what you'd get.Foodwise, I did order two tacos and chips with guacamole. The tacos did taste good and similar to what I would have in nyc. I like how there's seating inside and places to eat outside too. They do have bathrooms and a free water dispenser for you if you'd like Austin's finest tap water on the house. Overall, I'd recommend this spot!

Top notch tacos with a speakeasy vibe. No complaints here. Everything I've had from here has been clutch. Sometimes they do get busy during peak hours, but their staff has always been friendly & accommodating.

I saw this spot on TikTok and it reminded me these two authentic taco spots we tried in nyc and California. I'm very happy we stopped in. The food is amazing! The service is great too! Kind of hard to find if you are driving or walking. They need some signs or something. Food: the pastor tacos were simply amazing! Every bite was full of flavor. The fajita quesadillas were amazing. The cheese had so much flavor. Every bite was great. The Salas were good too.Fast great service! I'll definitely come back again. Authentic real food tacos. !

I almost don't want to write a review of this place and just keep this gem to myself ! We came on a Sunday afternoon, about 15 minutes after they opened and the line was already really long, but it moved quick (wait time about 20ish min) so don't be deterred. I split the Pollo Asado Burrito and a couple Carne Asada tacos with my friend and we both LOVED them. The flavors of the beans, rice, and meat were incredible. I can't wait to come back and try more food and something from the bar. A few things to note: - the entry is through an alley, you're not lost!- there's a cool bar and eating area before you get to the restaurant - I don't know if I would go with a big group here since seating throughout is mostly bar style with a few tables; 2-4 people sized groups looked the most feasible

My husband and I were debating our options for lunch. We needed something quick near our hotel. I found Taqueria 10 de 10 on Yelp. It looked promising, even if it's a speakeasy taco spot inside a bar, down a sketchy alley. We walked in, went to the register and ordered 2 carne asada and 2 al pastor tacos on corn tortillas, along with 2 Mexican Cokes. We paid with Apple Pay and were handed a ticket. We grabbed the Cokes from the beverage fridge and gave our ticket to the man at the counter. He asked if we wanted all the toppings. We said yes. He made our tacos and handed them to us. We ate at the long counter behind us. Let me just say, these are some of the best street tacos I've had outside of Mexico. These are legit delicious and I wholeheartedly recommend Taqueria 10 de 10 to anyone who will listen. My husband and I are only staying in Austin for a few days but we plan on coming back to get more tacos or maybe a burrito. TLDR; these tacos are worth it.

Took a hot minute to find this place but well worth the effort. The entrance is located in the alley. The tacos and burritos are great! The smell hits you hard when you walk in. The line inside may look intimidating but they are quick. Great spot to visit next to the convention center.

My husband is from Bay Area California. He thinks this taco place is unbelievable. Flavorful than anything he ate before in CA. Meat is very tasty and cilantro, guacamole, are fresh. We ordered Monday special and added beef taco. We love beef most. Although sitting area is not very comfortable, it is still a must-try quick bite place in Austin.

This taqueria truly blew our minds! It's such a special place, blending an incredible speakeasy vibe with a top-notch culinary experience. We love the whole operation--the passionate people who run it, and the talented taqueros who serve up the tacos with care. Overall, it's a solid 10 out of 10. The service is exceptional, and the food quality and flavor transport you straight back to the authentic taste of Tijuana-style tacos.
