Tandoori Lounge

You know the food is good when you immediately start eating and forget to take a picture! I went two times, once to their weekend buffet and once with a friend. LUNCH BUFFET: Great selection of foods, including chicken tikka, goat biryani, saag paneer, samosas, pakoras, naan, chole, chai, and more items that I can't recall FOOD: We ordered the chili chicken appetizer, lamb biryani, and lamb boti. I went with one other person, and we had ordered 3 dishes because we thought the appetizer would be small, but the portion sizes were huge.- Chili Chicken: sweet, spicy, tangy, and crispy - absolutely delicious! Since it was an appetizer, it did not come with any plain white rice- Lamb Biryani: well-spiced, aromatic, generous meat to rice ratio - mouthwatering!- Lamb Boti Kabab - dry, a little burnt, didn't come with much pieces of kabab, would not order next time.AMBIANCE/SERVICE:- You know an Indian restaurant is authentic when most of its patrons are also South Asian! - For what they lack in service, they make up in flavor (but this is pretty common in desi restaurants lol). We had to get our waiters attention for water refills, but they were nice overall. - Plenty of parking outside. COST: - I don't remember the exact costs of each item, but I think the total was around $60 with tip. OVERALL:- As a South Asian person, I would recommend this place to my friends! The lunch buffet is a great option to try a bunch of different foods.

I got out of work later than usual for a Friday, so we were facing an hour waits at our usual haunts. We were driving by and remembered how good the food was and decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did!There was no wait for a table so we were seated promptly and they took our order. They didn't have cocktails when we arrived because they didn't have a bartender at the time but we were able to get bottled beer. Later on during dinner a waiter came over and asked us if we still wanted a margarita and then we were served one. We were confused that that was not available at first but were pleasantly surprised they remembered. At any rate, the food was just delicious. Looked great, smelled wonderful, and tasted fantastic. We will need to remember they are in our neighborhood and recommend it . I had the garlic Naan with the Aloo Gobi which is a combination of potato and cauliflower curry. Also had a very high alcohol content but very good tasting IPA. They have a bar with a variety of alcohol and a good selection of beer. That's definitely a plus. The location was clean, and decorated very well. I should have taken a picture of the table lamps. They were nice. Haha anyways. This place had never disappointed me and the price is fair.

After moving in the neighborhood, I was delighted to have discovered a desi restaurant that serves dosa.The dosa was honestly quite delicious. However it had black specks all over the dosa. It was the teflon debris, quite toxic especially for me, being 7 months pregnant. They were nice enough to remake it but it had the same problem and had teflon particles. They acknowledged it and said this is the best they could do. I had to walk out with no food. Looks like this is a reoccurring problem since there is a previous review with the same issue.

Stopped by for dinner on a Saturday evening, and the vibe instantly took me back to a place my parents used to take me--that's when you know it's going to be good! We ordered the house beer, daal makhani, masala dosa, goat curry, and bullet naan. Everything was delicious, though the sambhar and daal were served cold. Still, I'm happy there's a spot open until 3 AM that serves solid Indian food!

Came back and ranking it 5 stars again. Very very consistent in the best way! You haveeee to get the garlic naan - comes in 4 pieces and is top tier. The lamb biriyani is delicious and is a massive portion - I end up eating half at the table and the other half for lunch the next day (score!!) My boyfriend got the lamb boti and it was delicious.

The lunch buffet was a great experience! Service was friendly and quick. They constantly replenished all of the items. Tikka masala, paneer, chicken korma were all delicious. The puri bread was hot, light, and I couldn't get enough of it Also, all the chai you can drink! The price was well worth it. They have 5 really large TV's playing sports, a cooking channel, and Bollywood music videos. There is also a bar with a lot of options. It was the perfect lunch on a rainy Austin day.

I love Tandoori Lounge!!! I am Indian, so I have very high standards for Indian food, and Tandoori Lounge hits the spot. Even though they don't have paneer tikka masala listed on their menu, they will always make it if you order the butter paneer and leave a note that you want tikka masala. The rice is PERFECT, I could eat it on its own. I've only been inside a few times, but it's a small place with a very chill vibe. I usually order for delivery and they are so fast that I've burnt my mouth on the food because it's so fresh!! Cheap, lots of food, absolutely worth it. Definitely recommend Tandoori Lounge if you need a quick Indian fix!

Beautiful restaurant wish great food. I've been to a few indian cuisine restaurants around the austin area and this is one of the best. A new favorite for me.

We have been in Austin for five and one-half years, originally from Garden City, Long, Island, NY. We have enjoyed all versions of Indian food for many years, from New York to Texas. This little restaurant, "Tandoori Lounge," is a simple but powerful eatery, and we had never enjoyed Indian food more so than at the Tandoori Lounge. The waiters and food production staff were attentive and fully concerned with our enjoyment of the entire culinary experience, the food, the service and the ambiance were A+. If you enjoy excellent Indian food, then we highly recommend this restaurant

The menu was huge and everything we had was so good. Staff is very friendly and facilities were spotless. So happy to have this place on our go to list.
