Guided by top-notch online reviews, I charted a course to Don Chente's, intent on seizing their legendary breakfast burrito before a serene lake retreat. The service greeted me with a warmth as inviting as the morning sun, and the speed at which they delivered my meal rivaled the quicksilver dart of a fish in the lake. Don Chente's ambiance, a humble roadside gem with a gravel lot, offers an unpretentious charm with ample space to dine and park. The burrito itself, a monolithic tribute to the first meal of the day, came loaded with impeccably scrambled eggs, a hearty selection of meats, chorizo, and potatoes, all hugged by a chewy tortilla. As I enjoyed this culinary behemoth lakeside, the simplicity of the setting only highlighted the richness of my meal. This roadside haven, with its swift service and straightforward allure, has truly elevated the breakfast burrito to a rite of passage for any morning wanderer.

This is a food truck that serves authentic Mexican food of excellent quality. But it is a morning-only operation, so get there before one to have lunch.

Excellent service! We called in an order for the breakfast tacos and it was ready when we got there in less than 10 min. The service was so friendly and nice it really stood out. The tacos were filled up to the brim and very yummy. The green and red salsas were enjoyed by my husband who liked that extra spicy flavor they brought to his taco. The green was more spicy than the red.

OMG... I ordered the chicken burrito and it was delicious! I really like the roasted chilies on the side! I chose to eat 1/2 now and 1/2 later! Best I have had in a long time!

Unassuming little taqueria food truck permanently parked here turns out AMAZING AUTHENTIC TACOS - and the locals seem to know it. We follow the locals - we saw nuns from a nearby shrine eating here and, so shall we! They open at 6am and do A LOT of breakfast taco business, and close at 1pm to catch the lunch crowd. Picnic tables are scattered around for seating, and cold drinks in the fridge by the order window. I had the Street Taco Plate, which comes with 5 street tacos with 2 choices of meat. I chose barbacoa and carne al pastor, two of my barometers for a good taqueria. Both meats were delicious - the barbacoa was meltingly tender and moist - very slightly flavored with cinnamon and maybe allspice? Anyway - definitely get the barbacoa. Same advice for the carne al pastor - delicious marinated pork crisped on the flattop and generously spooned into doubled corn street taco tortillas - Add onion and cilantro, a spritz of lime and a little of either the red or green house salsa and ascend to taco heaven. My husband got the crispy taco plate - 2 crispy corn-shell tacos, one with carnitas and the other with carne al pastor. Carnitas were tender and so so porky and delicious - another excellent meat choice if you come. Both plates are served with homestyle Mexican rice and refried beans. Their meat choices are: pollo (stewed chicken), carne asada (beef steak), chicharron, carne al pastor, carnitas (roast pork) and Barbacoa. Picadillo (ground beef stew) and Carne Guisada (beef chile stew).5 comida autentica como en su casa stars!!

The food is always great. Long time customer of this food truck. Love asada tacos and Tacos Don Chente is the only place I can get them not greasy and lean meat. Definitely worth the try!
