We just moved to the Austin area and tried Sushi to the moon for the first time. It was absolutely amazing! We went for an early 5:00 dinner and it was already pretty full. A nice mix of families and couples. Decor is new, modern and crisp. Everyone greets you upon entering and leaving. Our service was impeccable. Ou server was super friendly and thorough in providing great recommendations. We tried the daily sashimi special (blue fin and toro) which was super fresh and flavorful. It just melted in your mouth! We also tried the hangry roll which came out in a beautiful mini fireside presentation. Just stunning. In addition, we had the sukiyaki which came out in a "hot pot" style with white rice on the side. The beef was delicately and thinly sliced and super flavorful with yummy mini "noodle bundles" in it. What a nice surprise. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back

This was our first but not last visit to Sushi to the Moon. Here are the vitals. The service is excellent, the fish is fresh, the portions are ample, and there is something on the menu for everyone. From their website: Owner and Chef, Joon has over 20 years of experience in Japanese cuisine from Napa Valley California. He has definitely brought a California vibe to Leander! We ordered our usual sushi combo bluefin, hamachi, yellowtail, and sake. This fish requires minimal if, not zero, soy sauce and wasabi. This fish was so good we went for a reduced round two.Sidebar: I don't understand why folks drown their sushi in soy sauce and wasabi. My recommendation buy your sushi at HEB and drown it!We also ordered their hangry roll which is a fried roll. This one-of-a-kind roll hasyellowtail, spicy crabmeat, cream cheese, jalapenos, and a special sauce. The presentation is wonderful, yes there is a flame. This combination of fish, sauce, and heat is a cornucopia of flavor. If you are not into sushi check out their menu as they also offer noodle bowls and other cooked entrees. Speaking of beverages they have a good selection of sake and a few interesting beers. If you wish to bring your own adult beverage there is a corkage fee. Easy 5-star review.

Average overall:Valentines decor and specials were still on the welcome board (2days after it ended).Rolls were chunky/larger than normalNoodle bowl was decent, nothing to get excited aboutRainbow roll was averageCrunchy roll was above averagePork dumplings were averageDirty dishes stacked on a few tablesLooks understaffed/overworked like most other restaurants todayThe sushi was just average so all the reviews about how wonderful the sushi was tricked me into trying it.All the 5star reviews should mean this is the best sushi bar around, but its not even close.***If you are like most people and eat out often, youll love this place.bon appetit

Came here for an early dinner and it wasn't busy at all. This was around 6 p.m. The inside looks nice with a sushi bar near the entrance and a nice waiting area if you need to wait for your Togo order or a table to free up. We ordered our food and all the raw food came out pretty quickly. The cooked food, on the other hand, took some time. The chicken katsu had a very crispy texture to it, almost very similar to the ones in Japan. The sushi itself was decent and fresh. The slices of fish were a decent size and it was proportionally nice with the rice. The dessert was okay and that I can pass on next time. It didn't have the same flavor as the ones in Japan.

For the price, you definitely could get better quality of sushi elsewhere. Their rolls were better than the nigiri sushi, but nothing impressive. I was about to give this a 3 star for their food and slow service, but the staff were so kind and sweet so had to do 4 stars for them. Nigiri sushi was quite disappointing. The salmon wasn't fatty enough. The takoyaki was decent, but overpriced for 3 pieces. The venue itself had a calming, peaceful and warm atmosphere. Definitely good for a date night.

Husband and I came here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner on the 15th, after having had a positive to-go dinner a couple of weeks prior. The location is pretty small, indoor dining only, with a modest host stand to the right, couches for those waiting for take-out or seating, and a modest open sushi bar area. We took advantage of the holiday specials and ordered a bottle of the cold "cherry bomb" sake, Valentine's roll, Avocado ball, gyoza, and Hangry roll.I was impressed with the presentation and quality of everything we ordered, and wish we'd snagged some pictures because it was visually appealing. We did have to wait a bit for our waters, because our waitress didn't realize she was assigned our table. So a tiny bit disorganized. But other than that, each food item was delicious. We treated ourselves to the yuzu cheesecake for dessert and it was so good, though a petite slice. I would certainly come back here, though due to the smaller size restaurant, recommend making reservations.

This is a remarkably high quality sushi place in the Cedar Park/Leander area! When you walk in, you're transported to a beautiful designed sushi restaurant, akin to many of the nicest sushi restaurants in downtown Austin. The fish is super high quality, melt in your mouth delicious. We had the salmon crudo, hamachi carpaccio, and the omakase roll (chef's choice). Everything was so delicious and thoroughly impressed us!Our waitress was great and checked on us often. We sat at the bar and watched the sushi chefs create the rolls! The chef who made our omakase roll told us all about it - it was great! This is a big contender for the best sushi in north Austin! I can't wait to come back!

We've heard so much about this place over the last year that we wanted to try it ourselves. We were celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary, and we were able to make a reservation. Upon arriving, we were happily greeted and quickly shown our table. We looked over the extensive menu and experienced a bit of decision paralysis -- and that's okay! P2 wanted an app, rolls, and miso soup, so we ordered those for starters. We later ordered a sashimi plate, which came out beautifully.Everything was delicious and top-quality. The Agedashi Tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. P2 said the agedashi tofu here is the best in Austin. The Dragon Roll was carefully prepared and perfect. The Omakase roll turned out to be a Hamachi Roll for that day. The Sashimi Plate came with thick cuts of fish, with a very thoughtful presentation.Sushi to the Moon had a warm ambiance, and its interior design was most similar to what you'll find in California. There was also lots of natural lighting for a restaurant, which I appreciated. This is now our favorite sushi restaurant in town!

I think they had one person waiting every table in the place. It took forever to get anything. The food was just OK... nothing special. The wine selection was very minimal and everything in the place is VERY overpriced. I am glad that we tried it, but go at your own risk. I will definitely not be rushing back there anytime soon. Too many other great places in that area.
