The atmosphere here is dark and romantic--perfect for a night out if you're in the mood to splurge a bit. It's the kind of place where the vibe sets the tone for a memorable evening, especially if you're looking to impress or have a fun, laid-back date night. Now, while I wouldn't exactly call it a traditional, clean, and pure omakase experience, it's definitely delicious and packed with flavor. Each bite feels like a little adventure, with all kinds of tastes and textures coming together. It makes sense that it's in Austin. There is upselling at the end of the meal. You'll have the option to add extra food that wasn't part of the original menu or even revisit some of your favorite items. They also offer an optional drink pairing (which can really elevate the experience) and à la carte cocktails. All of that adds up pretty quickly, and I've never been able to leave here without spending at least $300 per person. If you're up for it and love sushi, the experience is definitely worth the splurge.

Took myself on a solo date to Sushi Bar and it was such a great experience. The 17 courses included dessert and you had the option to add on premium toppings as well like truffle, etc. When you first walk in, it's quite dim, giving speakeasy vibes and you're able to wait in a waiting area and given a cocktail. Then you're led into the actual dining room and seated in front of the chefs. The chefs were super nice and personable and made conversation throughout the night which really helped my introverted self. The food was amazing, and you could tell the chefs knew what they were doing and talking about. There is a small parking lot but doubting my ability to get out of it, I decided to street park instead. Overall, great service, great food, great experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to splurge on some omakase!

Our visit to Omakase at Sushi Bar ATX for a birthday celebration was nothing short of amazing. The sushi bites were not only delightful but also creative and incredibly tasty. The trio of chefs who prepared our bites were not only informative but also added a lot of fun to the experience. The room was lively and interactive, which added to the overall enjoyment. Some pro tips: - There is a small parking lot in the back, so keep an eye out for it. - Arriving 20 minutes early allows you to enjoy their welcome cocktail, which is a nice touch. - They also offer delicious unlimited sunomono, which they combine with their pickled ginger. - Make sure to save room for dessert, as they serve a delicious one along with tea at the end of the meal. The only downside to our experience was the host who was on the phone when we arrived and seemed annoyed by the interruption of us checking in, not welcoming when we arrived nor when we left. However, this did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the evening. The unagi served with the flaming bone marrow was the showstopper of the night, but watching the three chefs with their well-choreographed sushi-making moves was also incredibly entertaining. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend.

The Sushi Bar was an amazing experience. We enjoyed the intimate dinner immensely. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary and enjoyed the delicious, fresh fish provided. The staff was so friendly, skilled, and watching them prepare the food was a treat. We will definitely be back.

The truth is, the food here is absolutely fantastic. And I admit, I have no idea what it takes to serve DYNAMITE sushi in the relatively land-locked city of Austin, TX - but they do it! We arrived here to celebrate one of my friends' birthdays, and were definitely ready to eat some amazing bites. Here's a breakdown: BEFORE: As you arrive, they hand you a cocktail and ask you to sit in a waiting room, about 20 mins before your reservation. THE PLACE: A little, unassuming house off of E Cesar Chavez. A gorgeous room with a large bar, seating 10 people per sitting THE CHEFS: 3 chefs slice, rice, and dress all the food you're servedTHE FOOD: All Nigiri, except the first bite appetizer (we had a little seaweed wrap with diced raw fish in it) and the dessert. Food was fantastic, gorgeous cuts of fish and meat (Wagyu), all with a little spin on the original. In some cases, this spin really worked (gorgeous truffle on a decadent, soft, buttery scallop) and sometimes it didn't (like a vinegar-forward chutney on top of a fish, totally overpowering the fish)! You can also do a few extras for a set amount of money (Truffle shavings, foie gras, sake pairings, and an optional 2 extra pieces of nigiri that are a surprise at the end) THE BILL: Look, we were expecting to pay a decent amount of money for this. This is quality, curated, beautiful food. But please recognize that with their added service fee of 22% (the staff 100% deserves this!) and tax, you end up with something 30% higher than the original $159 pp. And if you add the extra two "surprise" pieces at the end, expect a bill at least $50 higher for 2 people. Whether this is "worth it" is subjective, but we personally had a little sticker shock. Still, this place was gorgeous, enjoyable, and a feast for the eyes and mouth. If you're ready to drop some serious change and have a decadent experience, this is the place for you!

Sushi bar is by far where I had the best meal in 2023! If you are a sushi lover like myself then this is the place for you. The whole experience from beginning to end was so well thought out. They start you off with a welcome drink that you take into the waiting area. After which you are guided to a small room with only 10 seats in a chef's table vibe. We got to see how each nigiri was made and I loved how they explained what we were eating and how we should eat it. I especially loved how they were able to accommodate my shellfish allergy by substituting so they get 5 stars in my book. Definitely a special occasion type of experience but so very worth it!

Went here to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, and it was great! You get a cocktail when you arrive and hangout in the lobby area before being taken to the room you'll be dining in. The food was great, and they cycle out their fish with the seasons. Service was awesome, and watching your food prepped in front of you is great. The chefs were awesome and made sure you had everything you needed throughout dinner. Worth it!

One of the best omakase experiences I've had to date! It was a girls date with a friend and I. 15 course meal with an additional one course for dessert. The food was crazy good. The fish options were so fresh, and so was the meet options as well. The fatty fish selection just melted in my mouth. I loved that they provided enough space for seating. Each room only houses eight seats, which gives plenty of space for meaningful conversations. I would come back another time! The staff was so sweet. Very thorough with the explanation of the origination each piece presented

Maybe the best meal I've had in my life? They asked if I wanted the add ons to a few courses and I did. They were worthy. Upgraded to the premium sake tasting too and it was fantastic. Service was perfection and the food was truly one of a kind. Pricey, but will never be forgotten. Would love to go again.
