SouthCloud sits right on Guad, right by the UT Austin campus, making it a super convenient stop for students. After three visits and trying a variety of dishes--braised beef noodle soup, braised pork rice bowl, chicken katsu plate, and katsudon--I think it's time to share my honest take.Service: 10/10The service here is great. Orders are placed via a self-serve kiosk, and the process is seamless. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food comes out fast. Ambiance: Casual and ChillSouthCloud nails the casual vibe. It's the kind of place where you can grab a quick bite between classes or catch up with friends without feeling rushed. Food: Could Be BetterThe food isn't "bad", but it doesn't quite hit the mark compared to nearby options.Braised Beef Noodle SoupThis was my favorite of everything I tried. The beef was tender, flavorful, and generously portioned. The noodles were pleasantly chewy, and the broth had a rich, hearty flavor. That said, it felt heavy, and I found myself struggling to finish it. While it's a decent option for beef noodle soup fans, it's not something I'd go out of my way to order again.Braised Pork Rice BowlUnfortunately, this one fell flat for me. The portion felt imbalanced--lots of rice but not much braised pork. The flavor was okay, but nothing memorable. I've had better versions at nearby spots like CoCo's, which sets the bar higher.Chicken Katsu PlateStandard. It's crispy, it's chicken, it's fine. But there's nothing special about it that would make me come back for it.KatsudonSimilarly, it's your average katsudon. Nothing to write home about.Final ThoughtsI give SouthCloud a 2 stars, because I would rather go to other places on Guad. The food isn't bad--it's just not good in comparison to all the other choices we have nearby. With spots like CoCo's next door offering similar dishes with better flavor(in my opinion-i'll have to go a couple more times to give a proper review), SouthCloud doesn't quite stand out. That said, the service and ambiance are fantastic, and I can see the appeal for anyone looking for a quick, casual meal. I just wish the food had the same wow factor as the service.

From time to time, I crave for some fried chicken bites. This karagee rice bowl satisfies it. The chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy inside and very flavorful. Comes with spicy Mayo dip on the side. Portion is perfect for me -- I don't get too full too much. I would order from here again for sure!!Parking is a bit challenging but doable for quick pickup. I go from the back alley.

Went with a group of friends when they just opened, so there was no wait for us. We just ordered at the tablet. I got the chicken Katsu ramen. The Katsu was on the side so you can dip it into the ramen. It was decent and affordable. It's not the best ramen, but it was good enough. Service was quick too.

I wanted to like the food here but every part of it was not good. It smelled a little off so that is how things started off. The spicy edamame was chilling in a wet puddle of God knows what. It was not crispy and did not have hardly any flavor outside of the few sprinkles of spices. The ramen bowls both tasted very bland and the tofu had a weird sour taste to it. The ramen broths and dishes were about as bland as can be. It was the worst ramen I've ever had from a restaurant. The fork even stood straight up and the whole bundle of noodles was able to be picked up with the fork in one swoop. I tried spicing it up with fresh basil, crushed garlic and other things and nothing helped.Would not order from there again.

Decent ramen and rice bowl place. Went there like twice, food was pretty pricey (a main dish and a plate of dumplings put me back by like twenty bucks), but it's worth the price if you want ramen and rice bowls around here. Will come again soon for the yakisoba and seafood ramen.

Look Noodles is an Asian restaurant near the University of Texas at Austin that specializes in Chinese and Japanese foods particularly stir-fried noodles, rice bowls, and ramen. I knew I had to get one of each, so I tried their:- Combination Spicy Yakiudon: beef, chicken, and shrimp mixed in with thick, chewy noodles. This is a dish that's more tangy and light in flavor. I would have liked the noodles to have been sauced more, but that's just personal preference. ($13.95) - 3.5/5- Tonkotsu Ramen: miso-based pork broth with chashu (pork), ajitama egg, corn, scallion. A good item to get if you want something more rich. If you're in the mood for ramen near the campus area, this wouldn't be a bad choice. ($12.75) - 3.75/5- Braised Pork Rice Bowl: probably my favorite of the dishes. This came with a lot of meat, was pretty flavorful, tender, and filling! Def get this. ($11.95) - 4/5- Pork Gyoza: this came with 6 pieces and was pan-fried. A classic and you can't go wrong with this if you need an appetizer beforehand. ($6.45) - 3.75/5- Mochi Ice Cream: I got the matcha and mango flavors. A great way to end a hearty meal. ($3 for 2) - 4/5Overall, I had a good time here. There's a wide array of options to choose from and the portions are filling. With that said, I give them a 3.5/5 for being a good spot to try out near the campus area.

I did take out for ramen because it was especially cold. I work on 18th and colorado so it's a 7 minute walk. The online and calling order process is pretty straightforward. I thought my ramen was ok. I order the kimchi ramen and didn't see any kimchi and only a faint taste/scent in the broth. If anything it smelled more porky due to the 3 pieces of pork provided. I haven't had ramen that had such a strong smell of pork. I liked the to-go packaging. i would try their other dishes but it's a Chinese restaurant looking to satisfy everyone and so they can't do everything well, just good enough. It was $12 for a bowl, which is a good price for lunch.

First time eating here, I was enjoying the spicy chicken katsu (delicious) when I ate something crunchy. I took a second slurp and a thorn of some sort poked the back of my throat. I spit it out and could not break it with my hands. Unsure what this object is. The owner needs to contact me immediately.
