Stayed here for a work trip. Very comfortable stay, staff was great and very accommodating, rooms were cleaned and fit the Austin aesthetic and is perfect for south congress. The hotel bar area is great and offers great happy hours. Overall great stay and would recommend

I've stayed here twice in the last two years for corporate events my company booked. Each time I've had something stolen, the rooms are terribly uncomfortable, and the staff has all been trained in the art of bad attitude! If you need external validation to be "hip", this is your overpriced hotel full of broken furniture and snotty staff. I won't be back!

Pool was great, a lot quieter than the LINE which I like. I really enjoy the location. Super close to lots of shops, bars and restaurants.Staff was friendly enough but I will say that the room was a bit lacking. For $450 a night I would've expected something more but I think the minimalist look is the next big thing. Not for me. The first room we got smelled a lot like dog. Granted they are pet friendly but it just didn't smell right. The next room we got was better. Slightly better decor as well. The toilet wasn't flushing though. There is not really a view unless you face the pool.I did enjoy the late 12pm check out and the shower was good. However they have a clear glass pane to the bedroom with no option to pull down so the person you travel with will ultimately see everything. Not the biggest deal if you're a couple but if you're with shyer friends or others it may be unappealing. They only have king size bed and bunk bed rooms as options so just a heads up.

Came here for first Thursday with some friends and we had so much fun!! It was raining that day so luckily there was no line and the inside wasn't too crowded either. The DJs were so good and played really good music!! I like that were was an inside and outside part with different DJs and vibes in each part. The bartenders make the drinks strong so definitely getting your moneys worth!!

I recently tried the espresso martini with tequila at the South Congress Hotel Lobby Bar, and it was a game-changer! What impressed me the most was its flavor and potency--I only needed one to feel a buzz. The drink was expertly crafted, and the ambiance of the Lobby Bar setting made the experience even more enjoyable. They had a GREAT playlist going and the vibe was fun for a Saturday night. Highly recommend for those looking to grab a drink before hitting the town.

This review is specifically for the bar. We did not stay here.We drove to south congress to get some Home Slice pizza before they closed at 11pm, but decided to get a quick drink at the South Congress Hotel Bar. Nice little bar with modern/light wood decor. I'm guessing the smiley face is their thing, being posted at the bar and as an accompaniment to your drink. The bar tenders were super friendly and made the drinks with extra love. The sitting area is more casual than intimate, mostly small tables , sofas, and bar seating. It felt more of a cafe setting than a bar. I'd stop by again for a drink.

The hotel is phenomenal. The restaurants are phenomenal. What is not phenomenal is the extortion-level pricing for the parking lot. One might wonder "why is a decent sized hotel like this equipped with a parking lot the size of a small apartment?" And then you realize that nobody in their right mind would park there, unless they were oblivious enough to think that validating at one of the hotel restaurants would cover the cost in full. 90 mins of parking while eating at Maie Day took me from $38+ (more expensive than the red lot at the Austin airport) to a laughable $28. I am lucky enough to be in a position where $28 will not make me go hungry. But for 90 mins of parking, there is nothing else that can be called other than extortion. I would have to be lobotomized to consider parking there again.

We still visit often in the Lobby Bar which we truly Love. Bradley was our barkeep yesterday and what a steward he is holding down the fort. Being a tuesday, the bar was sparsly populated in the early afternoon. We met a nice couple at the bar and hung out for an hour or so. Bradley was attentive, funny and interactive suggesting the Hybiscus Margarita, which I ended up scarfing down three of them. Queen Bee had a couple of Martini's and then is was up to our suite to chill before dinner. Our room was the Monroe suite and an upgrade. Had a snafu upon check-in but it was quickly remedied and Monroe suite was our room for the next couple of days. Prior stay, we stayed in the Congress suite. Basically, they are the same with a spacious bathroom, apart from our sutie this time had a very large balcony and an extra toilet. Very nice.. unfortunately with Austin hitting 107 during our stay, being on the patio was a nogo for us. It also overlooked the pool and was on the second floor. The room was in much better shape and well appointed from our stay a few years ago. And a very excellent A/C unit. Unfortunately our dinner venue had an A/C lacking power so coming into our room after dinner was just awesome. They had provided us with a turn down service, which was very nice touch.Front desk was awesome for our stay. Informative, such as for whatever reason T-Mobile phone service doesn't work in the lobby? No to worry, just had to step outside to make a call and did receive text's etc while inside lobby and full phone service in our room? What a strange quirk. Mike spearheaded our room change once we realized the room was on the ground floor and right next to the pool. Really didn't want to be that close to the action. Our valet and Mike made sure all the stuff worked in the room and explained the TV streaming service...etc. We were made to feel very welcome and important. There is something about almost all the staff we encountered... from the waiters in Cafe no Se, Maie Day or the bar area to the room attendents. Great vibe all around. This was a welcome respite from our last stay some years back and seem their mojo back.We really like this space and am happy to see the updates. Although we live just a few miles down the road in South Austin, it's really cool to be able to have a staycation here at the SOCO Hotel.

Everything from valet to front desk service to room cleanliness and comfort was a 10/10 experience. Very beautiful hotel and amazing location in the heart of Austin. HOWEVER, be very aware that although I spent over $200 a night for the room, after leaving they had charged me nearly $200 due to very expensive overnight parking and "amenity fee" which is nearly $40 a day to use their amenities such as wifi, pool, etc? Can't believe we're paying extra on top of a $200+ nightly rate to use the hotel we already paid for.

The front desk staff went above for us. We came back for our honeymoon here. Always so welcoming. This place has a special place in our heart, and the staff makes it that much more special! Thank you all, and we can't wait to be back!
