First Night at Kalahari: The $76.86 Dinner AdventureOur first night at Kalahari Resort, we decided to try Sortino's. It was 8:30 PM, we were starving, and thankfully, it's right downstairs from our room. No cars, no fuss, just good food vibes.Sortino's is one of those places that walks the line between casual and fancy. You'll feel comfortable in your jeans, but maybe don't show up in sweatpants unless you're trying to test their dress code. Our amazing waitress, Annmarie, was a total gem--super friendly and quick with everything, especially the complimentary bread. And let me tell you, that bread? Crispy, warm, and basically an appetizer sent from heaven. Here's what we ordered: * Fettuccine Alfredo: Creamy perfection. Adults approved. Can't wait to order it again! * Pepperoni Pizza: The cheese was high quality tasting fancy--definitely not your average slice of a cheap pizza. * Kid's Cheese Pizza: Gone in record time. Not a crumb left. * Kid's Spaghetti: Tiny portion but my kids devoured it, declared it "amazing," and now think all spaghetti should taste like that.Total: $76.86.Was it delicious? Absolutely. The kids were thrilled, and honestly, when your kids are full and happy, life feels easier. But let's talk about the bill for a second--$76.86 for pasta and pizza feels like it came with a side of resort markup. That said, the convenience of not having to leave the building, combined with the great service and quality food, made it worth it. Will we go back? Definitely. Though next time, I might just prepare myself emotionally for the prices beforehand. Welcome to Kalahari dining, where even the spaghetti feels like an experience!

Kalahari Resort has so many amazing food options, and I'm loving exploring them all! I tried Sortino's Italian Kitchen and it did not disappoint. I ordered the ravioli, and it was absolutely on point--so fresh and delicious. The employees were super friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. I also really loved the old Italian decor--it gave the place such a warm and authentic vibe. And that cute little car out front? Perfect for a fun picture!I can't wait to come back and try more. Sortino's is definitely a must-visit!

This little Italian restaurant is tucked into the "convention center" side of Kalahari, which lends towards making it a more upscale atmosphere, better for adults looking for a bite to eat in a more romantic place and less of a kid-friendly haven that you tend to find on the other side of the complex. The wait was unusually long despite how relatively empty the place was, which was disappointing. I don't know what happened, but they comped us bread as an apology. That was weird to me, because so many Italian restaurants serve bread and olive oil, but this place charges for it?I went with the swordfish entree, aiming for something that I normally wouldn't get elsewhere. The portion was much smaller than I expected for the price, which was a bit disappointing. It was amply flavored and well grilled, though. My wife wasn't as lucky with her seafood pasta dish, which was clearly lacking some seasoning.Once we got seated, the service was very attentive and the waitress made sure that we had a good experience. This could easily be a five star restaurant once they work out some of the kinks, and maybe turn the "free bread" into a regular thing instead of an apology when there's unusually long waits.

I went to this place with my dad and it was great! I got fettuccine alfredo and it was great (as shown in the picture). The waiter was nice and helpful. And it did remind me of Italy. Cute little charming place! I definitely recommend !

So this place was not necessarily where we were headed to but seemed a better drive choice given the cold breezy rainy evening. Gps also thought we should park behind the building and walk from dont know where but oh well... we figured it out and also eventually find out they validate valet parking! Anywho coming to the main point.. food. And drinks. Food was delicious and drinks were mouth smacking mm mmm mmmm wow!We had ordered some fettuccine special and cheese ravioli. The food while being tasty can definitely use 3-4 more spoons of serving. Drinks were made to perfection: cucumber vespa was really refreshing and would make a great summer sit on the patio and enjoy drink. Sicilian sour really surprised us in a good way. The love dip is dressed up olive oil dip but in an enjoyable way. We casually mentioned about how it was our anniversary dinner and the server was so sweet to surprise us with a cupcake dessert. We didn't ask for it or expect it. That was just so sweet. While everything was great, I definitely would say it was pricier than what it really is worth.

"Kalahari Italian Salad: A Symphony of Flavor Amidst a Symphony of Vomit (But Skip the Room Service!)Let's just say my recent trip to the Kalahari Resort was... eventful. My kid decided to redecorate the hotel room with the contents of his stomach, leaving me to do the honors of cleanup duty. But hey, a parent's gotta eat, right? And since I'm watching my carbs, I opted for the Italian salad. Now, this wasn't just any ordinary salad. This was a masterpiece. Picture this: crisp lettuce, tangy red onions, savory ham, spicy pepperoncini, salty capicola, sweet sun-dried tomatoes, and creamy mozzarella, all brought together by a vibrant house vinaigrette. It was an explosion of flavor that honestly made me forget about the, uh, other explosion happening earlier.Seriously, this salad was so good, it almost made cleaning up puke enjoyable. Almost. If you find yourself at the Kalahari, do yourself a favor and order this salad. But here's the kicker: enjoy it OUTSIDE your room:Apparently, the convenience of eating amidst the aftermath of a puke-nami comes with a hefty price tag. My $21 salad (with tip) magically transformed into a $36 gut-buster when delivered to my door. Ouch! So, brave the crowds, grab a table, and savor this deliciousness without the room service markup. Your wallet (and your taste buds) will thank you."

I haven't eaten their actual "Italian cuisine." But we always get the pizza when staying at the resort. I think it's better than the pizza from the pool area, and it's also way cheaper! Their 14in pizza will feed a family of 3 or 4 because their crust is pretty thick. It's also one of the cheapest places to feed a family at Kalahari. They will deliver it to your room for a fee, but I find it easier to just walk down and grab it. Definitely should be on your list if you are staying at Kalahari, don't want to leave, and want to eat as cheap as possible. Great pizza too actually; better than Dominos or something similar.

This restaurant is located in the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock. The food was amazing! The bread cannot be beat and the service was great! We had the Sangria (Red) which is house-made and so refreshing. The Bolognese (slow-cooked beef, veal and pork, rigatoni) had a lot of flavor. The Lasagna Bolognese was also really good with lasagna layered with beef, veal and pork sauce, with ricotta, parmesan and mozzarella. We definitely had leftovers, but will try the Shrimp Scampi on our next visit. The service does not disappoint. All the staff was friendly and very welcoming from the moment you walk into the establishment.
