I really like this place. Lunch special includes soup and rice choice. good portions. Reasonably priced. Even though I go here a lot, I really only get a few of the selections because I like them so much. Anything sauteed is great, haven't had luck with breaded items like General Tsos. One thing I like is that the dishes will be different every time. To me this means that they are making it by hand and not with a mix or out of a can.The hot and sour soup is different every time. my favorite dish is the Teriyaki Chicken, which isn't really what it sounds like...I would call it Tender Honey Chicken or something like that, really good!anyway, I recommend it. The staff is always very nice as well.

It was Chinese New Year and I thought that I could squeeze in a nice lite afternoon snack between appointments so I abruptly chose Shu Shu Asian Cuisine which turned out to be an unfortunate mistake After entering, one goes straight ahead to order. Normally, I peruse the menu before going to a new establishment but unfortunately, I did not this time. First thing that caught my eye was the Singapore Noodle so I ordered that and added beef, for my protein, a cup of Wonton Soup and 2 shrimp Spring Rolls. I was given a number and waited at my table for my order. I thoroughly enjoyed the Wonton soup. The Shrimp Spring Rolls were overloaded with veggies and the shrimp were barely noticeable. I was terribly disappointed with the Singapore Noodle bowl. I was expecting the wide rice noodle and not the vermicelli style. It was also very dry. I tried stirring everything with hopes of there would be some sauce on the bottom of the bowl but nothing so I was offered a bowl of hot chicken broth to mix in with my Singapore Noodle bowl but that did not give any relief to those dry noodles.Whenever I rate a venue with 3 stars, I make an effort to return to give them another chance and I have seen some things on the menu that may help to change my rating.

STYLE: Order at the counter, delivered to your table.PROS:(1) Tasty food, good presentation. (This was for dine-in.)(2) Lots of vegan options on the menu, clearly marked. (Though one the ingredients for one of the vegan options was eggs...)(3) Brown rice option. Rare, and appreciated.CONS:(1) Unsustainable packaging for takeout. Black plastic (the most toxic kind) and Styrofoam. Many places we frequent have switched to compostable / plant-based packaging. Not here.(2) Standard tip for counter service is 10%, but the *minimum* option on the payment screen was 15%. Yes, I know I can change it, that's not the point. For counter service, the choices should be 10, 15, 20.I will upgrade my review by one star for each of these problems they fix.

This is a great little order to go or even dine in casual cook to order Chinese spot. Basically you order your base (lots of vegan options) and add a protein if desired. Tonight we had Singapore noodles (added chicken) and fried rice with added shrimp. Side of chicken eggrolls. Service is quick and portions are large. The noodles were gluten free. Quick meal but feels and tastes fresh, healthy, and clean. Large open seating area with an airy modern vibe.

Tried the Kung Pao chicken dish with white rice for lunch. Tasty, good, but not knock it out of the park great! Still, I wouldn't discourage you from trying it because they do give you a very decent portion size for lunch and, based on the crowd size in the restaurant, the food offerings must be pretty decent. Also got egg drop soup with the meal and it was ok but I've had tastier EDS at other local places. I did like their menu choices, lots to choose from. I only wish there was a bit more veggies in the King Pao

Very random story how we ended up here for dinner, but let's just say that it involved a booked up bowling alley and a random route. We've driven by Shu Shu's so many times, and at least know we can say that we know what's what. We were pretty much the only ones in there when we arrived though there were some people hanging around to get take-out. Several tables were dirty and we saw a couple workers just sitting on their phones, so not the best first impression. You order at the counter and they bring the dishes out to you; there's bottled beer if you want some booze. We started with the wonton soup and were shocked by how good it was. Seriously--a rich broth with tender wantons and some fresh scallions and celery in there as well. Aaaannd that will be our only form of praise. The shrimp fried rice was awful--super funky taste to what was undoubtedly something frozen and zero flavor. The serrano black bean vegetable dish with tofu was better, though, and we liked that it was indeed spicy. Our daughter's chicken and broccoli was edible but not particularly appetizing. Rice was fine.Listen, the folks are nice and the food was passable, but we're kind of shocked that this place--with the amount of real estate it entails and must cost--has survived the Burnet boom. Three stars, out of pity.

This unassuming Asian restaurant was a pleasant surprise! My friend did not want to go here because the name meant something else in another language but she joined me under protest. I think the name means Uncle in Chinese. This is an order at the counter restaurant. Kristi was working front of house. She helped my vegetarian friend decide on her choices, patiently explaining the dishes, answering all questions and making suggestions. The lunch specials run until 2:30 everyday...choice of appetizer and entree. My friend ordered the Serrano Black Bean entree with tofu and substituted some vegetables plus egg drop soup. I had the Black Bean entree with chicken plus hot and sour soup. Both entrees were generously tasty portions. I viewed a few other plates which also looked delicious. I will definitely be back for more!Reminder - Make sure to tip when ordering or at the table as some refrain from doing so at counter order restaurants.Kristi happily took our order, brought our food, checked on us, bussed our plates and cleaned up afterwards.

Near-complete upgrade/redecoration of the interior, which I didn't notice on Tuesday when I dashed in to grab my pickup order. I'm back because - local, neighborhood AND my Ahi Tuna Salad from Tuesday was *amazing*! The service was as cheerful and quick as ever. The few menu changes I notice are improvements: choice of protein on every entree, the addition of an Ahi Tuna entree. The prices don't seem to have changed (!). Improvements all around, with no change in ownership. Yippee Skippy!

My husband and I love ordering from here when we want something quick, easy, good, and nutritious. For the most part we have it delivered but we did go in person one time. It is nicely decorated, clean, and obvious that a good amount of money was spent in decor. The cashier that day had a vibrant personality and was very nice and helpful. I always order the Serrano plate which is the perfect amount of spice coupled with a black bean sauce. A great combination - because I loveeee spicy food. One time I ordered it with the fried rice which was great! But now I get it with just plain white race so it doesn't take away from the flavors of the Serrano plate. My husband always gets the crab rangoons and at least 3 bowls of the wonton soup. Flavoring and preparation is consistent and this will always be a restaurant on our rotation.
