Short Stop

I have been eating here and other locations in Austin for 35 years, and it's weird to me that Short Stop still feels like a secret in a way that Dan's and other local long timers do not. Maybe its just because I've always been on the (now rapidly filling with tech douches and hipsters) east side.Short Stop has the king of meals, the slammer meal. Fantastic. I really love their fries and burgers, and I hope they continue for a long long time.Sadly, I think that the only way they will in Modern Austin is by hiring a design consultant & a Marketing firm to give em the same slick presentation as puhterrys.Keep these folks slingin the burgers and swing on by sometime.

I've been here 2 times, my order was incorrect 2 times, I asked for a double burger w/ one cheese, upon receiving my receipt I saw it didn't say only one cheese so I reiterated to the woman that took my order I only wanted one cheese to which she assured me my order was correct.. low and behold (pictured included) lol and the manager wanted me to drive all the way back to the restaurant, no way

I grew up eating here and they fell off a lil bit. But for the past 2 Fridays I've gone at 11 right before they close and it has hit harder than it's been hitting for years (before the fire). My food has been fresh, the heat survives the drive back to Elgin. Last night I got the burger plain to avoid it getting soggy and man..it was amazing. The service was good and quick.

This is a classic in Austin, and one of my personal favoritesThe Chicken Slammer Meal comes with fries, sandwich, Drink and Desert. A DEAL !! Always Make sure you TX size cause those fries are never enough.

I ordered a single cheeseburger meal it was okay it was very messy though too much mayonnaise I would try maybe something else if I went back.

I was elated to see they were open once again.My bacon cheese burger was pretty good but my fries were under cooked and greasy.The sweet tea was good as always.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I am a bus operator who stopped by to grab lunch. Paid for my lunch but they serviced the two people who ordered after me first. When I brought it to the staffs attention and asked for something complementary for my wait, the manager got verbally and visibly upset. I then asked for a refund, the staff made me give back my drink despite the fact I had been waiting outside in the sun for almost 20 minutes. Disappointed, I had to leave sadly without a lunch. I hope that they did the refund properly because I will be watching my account. I will never eat here again, which is sad because prior to this situation, this establishment was my favorite.

First of all I ordered a number 1 got charged for a number 4 combo. Then I check my food at window they didn't put my bacon on my burger. So I gave it back they slap some bacon on there a handed it back after me asking them to remake it. So I get home and check my food again and find a hair on my cheese. I will recommend everyone please check your food before leaving. The people don't have on hair nets or anything be safe cause they don't care.

Sooooo good can eat the same thing every day it say I need more stuff on here o nvm we goood

Great place in the neighborhood to grab a good fresh burger or chicken tender basket.
