Shawarma Point

This is located in the bustling food truck park on Rainey. I checked in this time, and Yelp had a 20% off deal. The employee said he had never heard of it before, but he honoured it. This was very kind of him to do. I do hope it is a real check-in offer and that it is consistently honoured. I've gotten the chicken shawarma plate here twice, and I've enjoyed it. It doesn't compare to Halal Bros or Kismet, but it's not bad. The portion is a decent size, and the price is reasonable. With the discount, I paid $10.36. I wasn't able to finish it the first time I got it, but I easily finished it my second time. The flavours are good, and it's nice that they put a good amount of salad in it too.

Food: 3/5Not bad but not great. I had this place at ACL - a balanced musical festival meal that served all the needs: carb, protein, and veggie. Do not think I will be going. Here otherwise. The chicken wasn't that flavorful // overall the dish was lacking flavors. I wish also that there had been more sauce on the food.

Waited 30 min for my salad When I checked on it they had totally forgotten it. The girl whipped it together. No apology and the salad was not worth $15. Tossed about half in the rubbage bin. Food truck location. Nope and nope.

After an exhausting afternoon at ACL boy were we happy to find this place! This place served up delicious food and we were so thankful that ACL was inclusive enough to include halal food. I had a string fries craving so we got the beef and lamb gyro over fries and it did not disappoint. I was worried that the fries might get soggy but they didn't and salty fries mixed with spiced meat, creamy white sauce and feta and zingy red sauce was arguably perfection. The owner seemed really nice and even gave us more halal recommendations for other vendors at ACL which was super nice of him!! (Though I forget what these were) all in all would definitely try this place again.

As a vegetarian, the only item I can have is the veggie falafel wrap consisting of chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, and fava bean patty and it's an absolute delight. After a couple of late night events, my boyfriend introduced me to Shawarma Point one night and it has been my number 1 go to place of all times. The server always has a smile and 'ready to serve' attitude despite being in the inferno heat inside. If you are into Mediterranean quick eat food fix then Shawarma Point is the joint to be at.

4.5 stars The lamb/beef shawarma wrap is really delicious but the meat could be just a little bit better. The spice level was great. The meat was juicy enough and they had the right amount of sauces in the wrap. The food was made quick enough.

Was super full but couldn't resist getting an order of falafel. It was so good! Crispy on the outside, moist and delicious on the inside. The two gentlemen who worked the truck tonight was super nice and friendly.

Needed a quick bite while at work and decided to give Shawarma Point a try. This is your very standard shawarma food truck. It wasn't the best I've had and it also wasn't the worst. The food came out pretty quickly but the food lacked flavor and the chicken was a bit rubbery.

We ordered the Chicken Schwarma Plate, adding Hummus with hot sauce on the side. I received a bowl of rice and lettuce with two tomatoes and a few pieces of chicken. No hummus and not an actual plate meal, it was half salad and 2+ cups of rice. Will never return.

We like the beef/lamb shawarmas here. Taste very fresh with the lettuce. The bread is like fresh naan/pita bread.
