This is a five star review for Salt Lick Cellars Such a cute and charming tasting room with amazing, friendly service and reasonably priced wines! We popped over from Salt Lick BBQ next door to grab a bottle, and it was so convenient--just a few steps away. They even have a red called BBQ Red, which felt like the perfect pairing. Our bottle of red was both delicious and affordable. The outdoor patio is dog-friendly and absolutely adorable, making it a great spot to relax with a glass.Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area--great wine, great vibes, and great service!

Bbq was okay, nothing to write home about. Same with the overpriced wine next door. But service was great, the place was massive and looked like it could be a lovely spot on the weekend. Also great family deals!

First time to Salt Lick and there was a 45 minutes wait where the hostess suggested the cellars while waiting. This place is massive. It was a few minutes walk to the cellars from the check-in station and the place was quite packed. They got canned beers and several types of wines. It's a cozy small place and they got a huge outdoor picnic area where you listen to live music (there was a guy singing country songs on the day of our visit) and enjoy the sun.

Came to Kyle to visit my brother and on the way back towards Phoenix we stopped in for a late lunch. The property is massive and the outdoor tables under the trees is just a beautiful spot to enjoy the meal. So cool to walk in and see the pit and the BBQ masters at work.We sat outside and ordered and the food came out within a few minutes! I ordered the veggie plate and my cousin got the pulled pork and brisket plate. She said the meat was super tender (didn't even need the knife to cut it) and the BBQ sauce (regular) was really good, she just wished the meat was a little hotter when it came out.I don't usually like coleslaw or potato salad especially when it's swimming in mayo, so I was beyond excited to see it was not mayo based and didn't look anything like what I expected. The coleslaw was good, the potato salad had a little kick to it so I couldn't finish it, but it was all still good. The beans were also not what I typically expect, they were a pleasant surprise, and I appreciate that they were vegetarian so I could actually eat something. We of course saved room for dessert and ordered the half and half cobbler. I'm a huge peach cobbler fan, and this one did not disappoint, but I really liked the blackberry! Both were excellent and I highly recommend you save room for dessert too.We also placed an order for 2 ribs to go. Curious to see what she thinks especially since it is only 2 bones for the price. The dishes all seemed pricey, but we also aren't from the area so perhaps it's within average here.Kenzie was super helpful and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the pit stop for our meal.

Hands down amazing. BYOB concept is nice. The restaurant does not serve alcohol. We did stop into the cellar on premises to grab a beer and wine. Live music in the courtyard. Server was very attentive. The brisket was tender and just melted as you ate it. The sides were great. The Half/Half cobbler No ice cream was the best I've ever tasted. Will return!

We were traveling back home after a July 4th trip with our pup. It had just rained so we looked for a place that had outdoor seating. The first time I was there I remembered picnic tables so we took a chance. There was already a line when we arrived at 11:30 am. All of the outdoor tables were wet and no one was eating outside. People were just standing around the picnic tables waiting to be called inside. I asked the hostess if we could sit outside since we had the pup. She said due to the rain they didn't have any servers working the outdoor tabled so she recommended that we order to go and were welcome to use the picnic tables. We had our waterproof picnic blanket with us so that was perfect. Also, the picnic area was BYOB so my husband had a beer from our cooler before we got our meal. We had the ribs and burnt ends plate with sweet tea. The plate came with potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans. The coleslaw hang a tangy taste as did the bbq sauce. We both really enjoyed our meal and will be back next time we're in the area.

Not sure about this location, but the one at the Austin airport has an angry bartender and an outdated drink menu. Don't really expect much from airport watering holes, but a little kindness and courtesy would definitely dress up the dive bar feel of this place...

Ya take the good with the bad. We came south of Austin to the wine valleys here and started with Salt Lick Cellars. They had the adjoining BBQ place and we were hungry so figured to start here then hit some of the other vineyards. The place was designed to take in a lot of people. it was full of folks at 1PM on Friday. There was maybe 150 cars in a lot that could hold 10 times that. The grounds were nice, with lots of shady trees and people having a good time. I think it was more of a good time from the BBQ and beer maybe as the wine was nothing to cheer about.we walked and asked for a tasting from the little window that was the winery. We got an eye roll and were told no. So we each got a glass of wine, not wanting to waste the stop. Both glasses were not good. Not to sound like a boozer but I can finish most any glass, but we had to pour both out sadly. it threw off our mojo enough that we didn't even get a different glass or BBQ. The good news was there were plenty more options down the road!

Last Saturday my friends and I were at the restaurant for dinner. We were all in town celebrating a friend's 50th Birthday. The atmosphere was wonderful with the lighted oak trees, the quaintest tasting room, and exceptional BBQ! Our server was Ashley T and I just can't say enough about how great she was! Highly recommend Salt Lick Cellars and ask for Ashely T!

Visited here last week at the location in Austin Texas Airport on a layover returning home toLos Angeles area and was curious about Southern BBQ and it was a mistake. Food way overrated and overpriced not good at all. Portions were small for the price. Staff not really friendly. One small dried slice of bread . Presentation wasnt good, also.Sides were bland and not tasty. They combine the potato salad and Cole slaw together. Not a good idea. Can't distinguish the taste of the items combine together? 2 slices of turkey and some brisket that was dry! BBQ beans dry ! Everything was just ordinary. I felt robbed and definitely will not be returning here againinthefuture. . Definitely wouldn't recommend this eatery.
