Ramen 512 was roughly 25-30min drive from our side of town but it was worth it after this first visit. It is located in a shopping center in Cedar Park/Leander area. We came on a Saturday evening around 7pm and luckily we only waited for 10 mins. My husband and I started off with their chicken karaage which was pretty solid. We both had their Black Oil Tonkostu and loved the flavors. The broth was clean and perfectly salted. I hope they will add a Tsukemen option permanently to their menu one day!My husband and I can gladly say Ramen 512 has been added to one of the top places for ramen in Austin!

Went back with the wife who has lived in Japan, her whole life. When I went the first time, I felt conflicted. She confirmed it with me this time around. The Ramen is definitely an authentic style Ramen. My bowl had an large amount of noodles when it came to the noodle-to-broth ratio, which ended up with some noodle waste for me unfortunately. My wife's shoyu ramen bowl was fine. While I enjoyed the tonkotsu broth and the amazingly well done Chashu, there's just something missing. My wife also said the same thing. Can't quite figure out what it is, but as it is 16-17 a bowl and it's just not as fulfilling as Tatsuya or Marufuku, we will not be choosing this to be our frequent spot. Also, the service just wasn't as friendly as the competitors.Positive though : The chashu was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The karaage is easily the best tasting and most authentic karaage I've tasted in the area, since moving back from Japan. It is cooked to perfection and is absolutely succulent and moist when you bite into it. Huge props to them, which between the two is why we moved it to 4 stars as I couldn't do 3.5. Solid broth as well. Just leaves a bit to be desired.

This is really close to authentic ramen. I dare to say that this is one of the top ramens that I have tried in the Austin area. Taste, texture, aroma... all to the point. The chashu and karaage are both top-notch.The decor of the place is good, but nothing to cheer about. Probably nothing that cries out romantic or first date kind of decor. I am very surprised to find such a good ramen restaurant in this area.

Delicious ramen!! The food here tastes amazing and fresh. I've been here a few times at lunchtime and service is quick with little wait time. This place feels like a treat to go to!

I just got back from Japan, so I was a little nervous about how ramen in America would compare. I've heard this is the best ramen in the Austin area, so I had to check it out. We arrived around 5 pm on a Saturday and there was only one other table. The staff were friendly and told us to sit wherever we like and order using the QR code. I love that they have pictures of each dish on their menu!I ordered the Signature Shoyu with no menma. The broth was tasty and not too salty for me. The noodles were cooked well and had a slight chew. My favorite part was the meat, which was smokier than what I had in Japan. It felt like a slight Texas twist! My one complaint would be that I didn't love the addition of spinach in the bowl, I would probably sub it out for something else next time.I would definitely come back here and try more menu items! I have to say, it's pretty hard to find good ramen in Austin, but this one definitely lived up to the hype.

Ramen512's ramen is authentic and made with care. They have the best ramen in Cedar Park/Austin area. The restaurant is small and cozy, but I've never had an issue finding a seat during dinner time. You pay on your phone at the table. They have good chicken karaage, marinated well and fried lightly.Their ramen is delicious. The broth is rich and clean. The noodles are perfectly cooked with just the right bite. Their chashu is tender, and the soft boiled egg has a lovely gooey texture for the yolk. They often have different specials, so they are worth coming back for to try the new flavors!

Visited on a Sunday a little past noon. Good amount of diners but a few tables still free. Service was low key but friendly. Two of us, and we each had an order of the Signature Shoyu, which consists of the following; clear chicken and dashi broth, shoyu tare, pork chashu, spinach, menma, scallion, naruto, nori, half ajitama. One orders and pays at the counter, the serving utensils, a pitcher of water and the food itself are brought to your table. The ramen was good, but not as good as some of the other ramen restaurants in the area and thus the price was comparatively high for value. The broth was a tad on the salty side, but overall enjoyed the meal. Be mindful we did not, and have not tried any of the other dishes, so perhaps we missed the amazing stuff.

Came here twice so far--one regular visit and once for the special duck paitan popup. My favorite dish I've tried is probably the spicy tonkotsu--I really liked the chashu and the noodles in this one. They use very thin noodles and cook them so there's still a nice chew, which was great. The broth was good but not as spicy as I would've liked, and a little on the heavier side (although that might just be because it's tonkotsu). I also really liked the mazesoba. My one critique is that the sauce at the bottom was pretty wet and made the noodles feel a bit soggy towards the end. There was no lack of flavor here though, I really enjoyed it overall. My main qualm with this place is the price. It's pretty expensive for the amount of food that you get. But still the best ramen flavor-wise that I've had in Austin. The second time I came here for the popup, I got the garlic 4 ways and it's probably the least favorite out of the three I've tried. There was an entire clove of garlic in the ramen, which I guess is one of the "4 ways" they serve the garlic, but I thought it was a bit too much. I wasn't sure if you were supposed to eat it or if it was just for decoration, as it was a LOT of garlic and not cut into smaller pieces at all. I ended up eating a few pieces whole but decided not to eat the rest. The noodles were also a bit weird, tasting more like Chinese noodles than ramen noodles. Please note that this was for a one-time event so it's not part of their regular menu.

Been dining here for several years, finally coming around to posting a review! The only ramen in the Austin area I can eat! I find that ramen broth can be pretty salty and that's the case with most ramen shops in Austin and I gave up on ramen in Austin until ramen512 came around. Chef Vinh is very passionate about his ramen craft and it shows through his food. Now even making his own noodles in house!! The broth is very flavorful and rich. Very crispy karaage! Located right next to Randall's. Plenty of parking. The dining space is small so be ready for a wait if you have a large party or come during peak hours.
