This is one of the most unique restaurants I've been to. It's a Mexican-Japanese fusion ramen restaurant located in the food court of a decrepit Asian supermarket. It really made me sad walking around the grocery store because of how dead it was on a Saturday afternoon. I hope they are able to revive their store. Anyways, this ramen was fantastic. Even at 3pm, there was a little line, so I am glad we did not come during peak hours. I had the carnitas tonkotsu ramen. Carnitas in ramen was so so good. The pepper made it spicy, so I took it out right away. The counter has such a cool vibe to it with amazing decorations. The food court was pretty messy and not that nice, but that's alright. My friend and I both finished our ramen bowls, and we were very full after. $17.32 for a bowl is a little higher than I would expect considering this restaurant's location, but it was absolutely worth it.

Words cannot describe how delicious everything was. I had the pozole tonkotsu ramen (12 out of 10) with the salsamacha chili on the side.Lengua and pastor tacos were cooked perfectly! This was the most thoughtful, intentionally well-crafted fusion restaurant I've ever been to. I'm only in Austin for 4 days and I'm already wondering if I can squeeze in another meal here before I fly back home. Amazing service too to top it off!!

Ramen Del Barrio offers a unique twist on classic ramen by incorporating tex-mex flavors.Stopped by on a Saturday evening around 6 pm and it was busy! It's located within the Hana World Market food court and it was the only restaurant there with a line. The wait wasn't too bad though - 20 min in line, and then another 20 min till our food arrived. The worker at the counter was also accommodating with explaining the different options. Lots of seating available, not too loud.Carnitas Tonkotsu ($16, 4/5)- The combination of pork broth, mixed carnitas, grilled pepper and onions, and radish makes for a satisfying meal + limes for that extra kick- The noodles are thin but still chewy - wish they had an option for thicker noodles though!- Broth is really rich so just a heads up if you're not someone who likes heavy ramen soup- Portions are very fillingOverall solid food for the price, check it out if you're looking for different takes on your classic ramen!

I totally understand why this place has so much hype. Firstly, the cashier knew the menu really well and gave me some really good recommendations based on what I was craving and how hungry I was. I split the tuna tostada with my friend and we each ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The tonkatsu ramen was so rich, and I was shocked by how hearty the broth was. Noodles were cooked perfectly, and the carnitas were so soft and moist. This was a really solid tonkatsu ramen dish, and I was very impressed. The only thing with ramen is that it tends to get quite boring after a couple of bites, and this one was very rich after a few bites as well. My friend and I loved the tuna tostada, and it was a great rec on the cashier's part. I love how much guacamole and tuna they put on the tostada, so every bite is perfect. It's such a cute space inside of the supermarket, and you can tell they have a lot of loyal fans because there were so many people eating inside despite how early it was in the day.

Long time follower, and first time trying Ramen Del Barrio inside Hana World. We went in Jan and it was cold outside (and inside the food court)! Ordered a few different things to get a taste of the Mexican fusion menu. Everything was exceptional and not only did we leave with an understanding of what a Mexican ramen tastes like but also an appreciation of the use of quality ingredients to bring the perfect flavors together for an all around delicious foodie experience! Carnitas Tonkotsu - rich broth with some of the best carnitas we've ever had. The tare was exceptional and the jalapeños, radishes were a nice nod to LA street tacos. Noodles were perfection! Well rounded dish and much appreciated on a cold day! Hokkaido Scallop Tostada - I can't even describe all the flavors in this dish. WOW the green "tobiko" was a flavor explosion. The simple dish was spicy, savory and refreshing in every bite. Lengua Taki-Taco - the corn tortilla was one of the best we've ever had, hands down. Ranks on the same level as some heritage corn mixta tortillas we've had. The char (grill) was excellent and made for quick perfect bites. Cannot wait to return and continue to eat through their menu! 5

This is located inside the Hanna World market, it's cute and the staff has an awesome and fun vibe. Today they only had to options one was for the ramen and the other for some oysters. The ramen had this awesome flavor, my brain kept going back thinking I was eating a taco but my taste buds would recognize the umami of the tonkatsu. Excited to taste other options that they have.

Ramen Del Barrio was absolutely delicious! The Asian/Tex Mex fusion of flavors creates dishes that are so unique. My friends and I shared:- Pastor Yaki-Tacos: I'm a huge fan of al pastor tacos to begin with, so combing perfectly seasoned, cooked pork belly with the charred pineapple/green salsa was incredible- Snow Crab Tostada: I LOVED the tostada! This was my favorite dish from RDB. It was a blast of flavor. Even though it's pricey for the size, I would go back just for the tostada - Carnitas Tonkatsu: large portion, very stuffing. The creaminess of the broth was great and I loved adding the habanero mayu salsa perronas to it! - Pozole Tonkosu: one of my friends got this, so I only tried the broth but I liked how it was more chili based and less creamyWe came at a busy time and waited in line for ~40 minutes. The food came relatively quickly after ordering but I wish the process to order food was more efficient. Although the seating is casual (in the food court of Hana World), the food easily makes up for the small downsides. RDB is definitely a place I will come back to, especially on the rare cold days of Austin!

Hadn't been to Ramen del Barrio before. It's tucked inside the food court in Hana World Market. I only tried their special for the day, which was the uni tostada. I wanted to order the Tako taco and lengua taco and take all these to-go, but was told the chef doesn't recommend any of those items as to-go due to the tostada can get soggy. So I ended up only ordering the uni tostada and ate in. So sad that I inhaled it too quickly...I think I know how my pups feel when they eat their treats and wondered where it all went. There were some salty, briny bites as expected because it has the inari roe and crab mixture along with the uni. I was a little sad I couldn't really distinguish the uni flavor as much as I'd like. I think the inari might have overpowered it a bit. But either way, I'll be back! Have to try the other menu items!

My thoughts on Ramen Del Barrio are similar to how I feel about KG BBQ. They are both fusion offerings that are non-traditional and make some tasty food. They both make for unique experiences that are fun to go to with out-of-towners.The ambiance at Ramen Del Barrio isn't the nicest since it's inside the food court at Hana but I don't really mind since that means it's a good option for a casual meal.

I love this place!Their seasonal menu is great. A lot of variety and the taste of all dishes is so unique. I also like their Playlist. Spanish rock of the 90s or urban music from early 2000s.We had the Pozole verde tonktotsu which is the special for the season. The broth is tasty and with a kick as you work yourself through the Ramen. The crudo appetizer is also seasonal with a coconut base. Can't complain as I ate it all!Been wanting to come here for the menudo on Sundays as I heard is amazing and it runs out super quick.
