We've been here twice now with my family and have enjoyed it both times. There's something for everyone to chow down on. I like the variety of foods given here. From simple French fries, wings, noodles, fried rice, to shrimp cocktail, Argentinian jumbo shrimp, Cajun seafood boil, Shabu shabu or hot pot, ramen, sushi, and many more! My husband and I enjoy the mushroom hot pot flavor here, and they offer many meat and veggie options to dip into the broth, our favorite being the fatty beef!! It's so flavorful, I also love that you can make your own dipping sauces out of the station the set up, it's the best way to personalize your food and flavors. (Similar to Haidilao, but cheaper!!) Warning! Watch out for those bottled juices. I tried the Sour Plum & Juicy Pear and omg after looking at the sugar content, I felt like I made a horrible mistake- 55g of sugar in ONE bottle that's like 110% sugar, eeeeek! Definitely water it down or put it over ice and share a bottle lol Also have to mention, didn't love the steamed crab legs, they had barely any flavor, and felt water logged when I opened each piece, I do recommend the Cajun crab legs the most because they are flavorful & warm! Definitely the better option of the 2We would come back here! And most likely bring more family or friends along :) I do have to say, the price for a 6 year old is a bit much on the weekends when if you are a parent, then you know- they do not eat much at all, so $17.99 price for a kid is a bit on the high side, wish they could adjust it for kids under 7 or even 8 years old, they are just too picky at this age and are not eating much of the food/ plates not filled up but picking out bits and pieces. But I know business is business -Just my 2 cents.

Raku is my go-to spot near campus when I need a quick, delicious, and healthy dinner after a long day of classes. Their menu has incredible don options--especially the chicken katsu don, which is tender, perfectly breaded, and packed with flavor. I order from here pretty often through DoorDash, and it's always a reliable, speedy option with consistently delicious food. While their sushi is certainly enjoyable for a casual meal, it doesn't quite deliver that ultra-fresh, melt-in-your-mouth quality some places offer. That said, it's a decent choice if you're craving sushi without breaking the bank, especially as part of an overall balanced menu.As much as I love sushi, I tend to gravitate more toward their other dishes, like the dons, which are such a satisfying and hearty meal. Only suggestion is that the sauce they include for the chicken katsu is pretty small, and I end up with more chicken and no sauce halfway through my meal. I'm sure dining in might offer a different experience since the food is beautifully crafted, but enjoying it at home still feels like a treat. On top of it all, the staff are always so kind and sweet, and their care shows in every order. If you're looking for something filling and flavorful near campus, Raku is an excellent choice!

Raku AYCE in Round Rock offers a classic all-you-can-eat (AYCE) experience, though with some surprises that set it apart from the usual buffet-style fare. One pleasant surprise was the inclusion of nigiri, which was quite delicious despite the general expectation of lower-quality sushi in AYCE settings. However, as is typical with many buffets, the sashimi was a bit too rice-heavy, diluting the experience of the fresh fish. Some of the sushi pieces, like the salmon, were unfortunately a letdown, as it was obvious they were dyed, which detracted from the overall quality. If you're a sushi purist, it's best to steer clear of those pieces. The hot food selections were pretty standard for an AYCE buffet, with a few highlights and low points. The sweet and sour chicken, for example, was overcooked and skimpy on the chicken, more batter than meat. On the flip side, the lo mein was well-executed, flavorful, and a comforting option. Oddly, white rice had to be requested, which was a surprising inconvenience for a buffet.A unique offering at Raku is the all-you-can-drink ramune, a pricey Japanese soda that's a fun addition to the menu. It's rare to find such an option in AYCE establishments, so that was a nice touch for those who enjoy this bubbly treat. When it came to desserts, the cake was dry and tasted far from fresh, likely pre-made and left out for too long. But the true star of the menu was without a doubt the crab legs. They were flavorful and worth multiple trips back to the buffet. Unfortunately, the butter served alongside them was cold and congealed, sitting as an unappealing lump next to the otherwise impressive crab legs, which took away from the full enjoyment of the dish.My wife particularly enjoyed the mussels and clams, which were well-prepared and plentiful. The crab rangoon was another hit, fried to crispy perfection and filled with just the right amount of cream cheese. The deep-fried dumplings, however, were a bit lackluster, clearly frozen, and didn't have the fresh, crisp bite you'd hope for.One odd thing we noticed was that the hot pot section looked promising, though we didn't try it ourselves. It's something we might consider next time. The selection of teas and sparkling water was also quite extensive, which was a nice touch for those seeking a variety of beverages. One key tip: go for lunch. The price difference is significant, and it's well worth it if you're looking for value. However, a strange thing happened when we went toward the end of lunch service on a Friday. As they began prepping and setting out fresh dishes for the dinner crowd, we were informed we couldn't access those new items, which left us feeling a bit short-changed.Overall, Raku AYCE has a few highlights, like the nigiri and crab legs, but there are certainly areas where the quality feels typical of the AYCE experience. If you know what to avoid and hit the best dishes, it's worth a visit, especially if you're aiming for the lunch special.

I was scared of trying this place because of the reviews about food poisoning but I took a chance and I don't regret it. I'm happy to say that I did not have any stomach problem. The food options were great! It's more like a seafood all you can eat than sushi. I really enjoyed the Cajun snow crab and mussel and all of the oysters variation with fried soft shell crabs. All of their seasoning and flavors were on point. Everything was worth it for the price because other restaurant would cost way much more just for the snow crabs alone. They also have hot pot but it's small and only basic ingredient options. I wouldn't go here just for hot pot alone. There wasn't any wait even on a Friday night and the restaurant is huge.

Came in wanting to get sushi, but got ramen instead. It was pretty good, and the service was quick. The place is pretty cute, we were sitting next to the staircase.

September 2024Ordered food for delivery. My 5 stars is for the one sushi roll I had - the Hottie Girl Roll w/side of siracha and eel sauce. This is middle-of-the-road sushi. Nothing mind blowing, but it scratches the itch. I love spicy food so this roll really nailed it for me. The sweet eel sauce offered a great balance to the heat. Would definitely order this again.

Super worth it if you order through Ubereats and the delivery is pretty quick! I love that their rolls are loaded up with toppings. As for taste, it's worth it for the price, but it's also nothing too special. Although the spicy tuna was spicier than I expected. But I love that they include a good amount of soy sauce and ginger with the order. However, we had ordered two rolls and only one pair of chopsticks came in the bag which was a little annoying.

Uber Eats delivery last night. Picked this place based on a high rating. Why three stars (just average)? Miso soup was very tasty and good value. California roll was good, just an ordinary offering. Gyozo were a bit too firm, fairly small, and four of them. I thought the size and quantity of the order was over-priced. So, okay food overall. Nothing special. Will order elsewhere next time.

Ambiance was very nice. Service was good for a Buffett - cleared plates and came for refills. Food was very good - I do wish there was a larger selection for hot food but the Sushi was delicious!
