Was wanting so BBQ and found this via google search. The food was delicious, and the brisket was my favorite. I ordered in restaurant and the staff was friendly and helpful as it was my first time in. The wait for the to go order was pretty quick. Only negative was how hot the sauce was when putting into the to go plastic cups. It may have been due to the sauce being on the lower side...and it was challenging to put the lids on the cups as they became less ridged once the hot sauce was poured in.

We had Pok-e-Jo's for our catering company and they knocked it out of the park! The food was great, flavorful and hearty with the service being amazing!

I came here for Monday lunch with two coworkers. The nice thing about this place is there is no line outside the door with a half hour wait. It's partly due to the fact that the barbecue is good, it's just not legendary like some places. The good news is that their barbecue is actually worth waiting for, but you don't have to. I like the way they serve it up on metal trays with plenty of sides to choose from, all of which are quite good. Their brisket seems to be the star of the show with a very deep peppery smoke ring. Considering the price of barbecue these days, you do get a great quality to price ratio here. The two meat plate with a drink will run you about 20 bucks without tip. Not bad for a decent lunch these days. The only downside about this place, is that the interior, floor and bathrooms are showing their age. One important note of interest is that in August 2024 there will be an H-E-B True Texas barbecue restaurant opening less than a block away. See photos below.

I used to eat here quite often before the 2020, Covid-19 Shut down. I won't be coming back anytime soon. The price for a two meat plate has gone up by what seems to be $5. and the meat portion seems to be smaller. The sides that come with the meal are just meh. I try my best to avoid fast food but $22.00 for a simple, casual lunch for 1 is just too much. I noticed that the lunch crowd that used to fill this place was nonexistent. I certainly understand time has passed and inflation is a factor, however, paying $20+ for lunch can't be the new normal.

Great pork ribs tender and flavorful, I did like the jalapeño cornbread...it looks weird but it good the pulled pork was also pretty good, and the brisket very tender I'd stop here again. This was actually one plate that we split and I couldn't even finish it all. Less than $30 !!

Despite being a chain located in a strip mall, I decided to try this place due to the Yelp reviews. I did like the fast casual counter service, reasonable prices and quick food preparation. However, except for the tasty brisket, everything seemed pretty mediocre.Brisket: My favorite of the meats. Tender throughout with nice firm edges that held a lot of smoky flavor. Especially good against the vinegary BBQ sauce.Pork Ribs: Wasn't a fan. Was kinda firm and salty, like Chinese spare ribs. I prefer when it's slow cooked so much it's just about falling of the bone. Didn't like the chewy texture.Pulled Pork: Seemed pretty good, but they added a lot of BBQ sauce. Wish they left it plain so I could taste as-is, then add BBQ sauce as needed.Chopped Beef Sandwich: Also felt like they went a bit hog wild with the BBQ sauce. I think the meat underneath was alright, with a texture similar to the whole brisket. But really hard to appreciate it with all the sauce preloaded.Mac N' Cheese: Kinda seemed like the Stouffer's frozen mac & cheese. No nice cheese (or breadcrumbs) gratinéed on top, so I missed that crunchy texture contrast.Jalapeño Corn Bread Casserole: Mushier than regular cornbread, missing that signature grainy texture. Wasn't really feeling this.Texas Toast: Thick bread with a lot of butter and a very faint garlic taste. Was better than plain white bread I guess.Banana Pudding: Kinda tasted like vanilla pudding box mix with a few bananas and Nilla wafers. I was really hoping for a stronger banana experience.

Years ago this place was stellar. Their baked potato casserole was studded with bacon, chives and a hint of sour cream. Today I ordered a chopped beef sandwich which had no sauce, pickles or onions and looked like chewed up dog food, and the baked potato salad tasted like instant mashed potatoes with gross orange cheese. They should honestly be ashamed.

It was ok. Hubby says 2 1/2. Tastes like everything was done souvee then quick browned. We call it fast food BBQ. Poor selection of beer. Prices were fine. Service was good.

Brisket sandwich was both fatty, chewy and tough at the same time. Potato salad very oniony but beans were pretty good. Mac and cheese were a sticky goop so I added some sour cream and butter to get an edible consistency. Pretty disappointed all in all. In the past I've been happier and enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich for years.
