Such an incredibly tasteful experience! I ordered the Wagyu ribeye, and it was absolutely fantastic--perfectly cooked and full of rich flavor. My buddy had the New York strip, which he really enjoyed as well. We also started with the BBQ shrimp, and that was an excellent choice--packed with flavor and cooked just right. The service was terrific, making the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Austin!

Food - 4.5 stars. You really can't beat Perry's lunch pork chop on Fridays for $19. But everything is good. Ambiance- 5 stars. Dimly lit and not as loud as some other restaurants downtown. Service- 5 stars for SHARON!! She has been our server for a long time now and she is the best! Pleasant, knowledgeable and on top of everything! She's one of our very favorite servers in this city!!

I have to say I was super bummed with our experience at Perry's. Our group was a friend group meeting here in Austin from NY and FL. We decided to go to Perry's for my birthday celebration. Here are a few things we felt went wrong:1. We got there at 8:30 and it took us about 30 minutes just to get our drink order taken. 2. We were advised that the kitchen was closing when we got our drinks so we had to put everything in, fine no problem. 3. We had to ask multiple times for the bread our waitress kept saying she was bringing out. 4. We ordered apps and not even half way through of eating our appetizers, all of our entrees came out, so that was overwhelming. 5. One steak came out well done when it was supposed to be medium rare. The waitress was reluctant to take it back since the kitchen was closed, but she did after some back and forth. 6. When that steak came back out it was consumed in salt. So it was inedible. 7. When we told our waitress that it was salty and he couldn't eat it, she went over and laughed to her manager about it. 8. There was a giant roach in my bathroom stall that completely ruined my appetite. 9. We were offered dessert even though we were told the kitchen was closed. We said no to dessert since we were told the kitchen was closed, but curious as to what the response would have been if we had said yes.10. We felt super rushed and our waitress had an attitude with us. 11. We were barely checked on and felt as if we were put on the back burner12. I couldn't even get a dessert to celebrate my birthday, even though our waitress knew we were celebrating it from when she asked when we sat down. When you're spending 500 dollars for a dinner, I expect to be treated as such. It should have been made right. The steak was taken care of but that was after we spoke to the manager about doing the right thing. The experience was not what it should have been and my husband was super bummed that we came here for birthday and I couldn't even get a dessert with a candle to celebrate, especially being with close friends who I won't actually be able to celebrate my birthday with as we live in different states. Just a sad experience, and I wouldn't recommend.

Christmas Eve dinner at Perry's. Prix fixe menu of three courses as a special for the evening.I've already commented on the ambiance. No change there. Tonight, though, was busy and loud. Capps, our server, was prompt if a bit hurried. He did return frequently to check in, which is a good thing, and he was cordial and attentive. I got the impression he had a number of tables, so watching him was like watching the ball in a pinball machine. We opened with a very credible old fashioned and an interest adaptation of a Paloma. Perry's has a very competent bar. Meal wise, I started with the lobster bisque. Good, deep, rich and thick bisque with a decent amount of lobster meat. A tad too salty though, which is a refrain and chorus for this review. The 8 oz filet mignon was my entre. Ordered and cooked medium rare, so the execution there was spot on. It was tender and moist, the latter of which is hard to do with a filet because there's so little fat to lend juiciness. Perry's knows how to select and prepare steaks. That's their metier. The lump crab meat topping in a cream sauce was also a very good addition as were the whipped potatoes. The seasonal vegetables (yellow squash, zucchini, carrots, green beans) were sautéed in garlic and spices and, probably, butter. They weren't treated as an afterthought but as a genuine side, and I appreciate the professionalism of that approach. However, each part of the entre offering was once again a little too salty. The salt level across the board cost Perrys a star. Dessert was a chocolate crunch dish - a kind of very rich chocolate cake with sauce and crumbles. Decent but not memorable. All in all, acceptable but not sterling

Hands down best pork chop. Fight me Cooked perfectly everytime, they really have it on lock. So tender, succulent and rich in flavor. Pork chop dreams are made of this. Really, go indulge and tell me about a better place for chops. To top it off, it comes with the great applesauce for either dipping you chop, smearong you chop or having it separately but goddamn it pairs so beautifully together. If the burger is on the menu, don't miss it either. Stacked high, it's not ne missed either. Yes, it's more expensive than most but you'll be in burger heaven. That bacon is simply beautiful like me: thick, tender, juicy and goddamn irresistible. Get it!Desserts are definitely something you should end your dinner with. Always good and always rotating so indulge. And service is always extraordinary. ALWAYS. Servers are always, kind, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Always, always, always a great dinning experience.

Try to get here every time I'm in Austin.Classic steakhouse vibes with great food and drinks.Usually get the blueberry drink but with a straight up old fashioned this time around. Always say I'm going to get something different but end up with pork chop. It's a huge piece of meat that I've yet to finish. Smoked to perfection it's just amazing. Eventually I'll get a steak but today was not that day!Definitely worth stopping in when you're in Austin!

A steakhouse is always a safe bet when traveling - you get your protein fix and you know you're in for top notch service. Perry's proved to be exactly that! My server was delightful - I wish I could remember his name. He was so sweet and checked in so much. The trio of wagyu steaks is a great way to experience the local meats. And the whipped potatoes literally whipped :)

First a disclaimer that this review is based on visiting for a Christmas Eve dinner as our families weren't able to get together. We brought kids knowing that this was going to be fancier than a place that we would typically bring them, but they weren't out of place as there were many families with kids. My wife and I ordered the prix fixe dinner which did not disappoint. Not that I needed more food, but I would have wished that we could get the soup and the salad. My wife had the salad and I had the onion soup. I would say the onion soup was ok, but heavy on the bread and light on the onion. For the main course, we both ordered the filet of mignon with lobster topping. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly with a generous portion of whipped mashed potatoes. The kids of course ordered sliders and chicken fingers that came with what my daughter described as fancy ranch. No complaints were heard. For dessert, my wife ordered the trio to try, but probably shouldn't have. The pumpkin cheese cake was amazing and plenty to share for all of us.The big surprise though was that Santa made an appearance. The kids were over the moon with the experience. The only trouble was settling them back down after he check if they were on the naughty or nice list. This was unexpected and really made the night. While we typically would visit for a date night without kids (strongly recommend the steak flight with the Wagyu A-5 steak), we recommend coming here with family for a special occasion as well.
