I am impressed by this little cafe. I've visited on two separate occasions, and the food was great both times. For lunch, I ordered the turkey sandwich on cranberry walnut bread. The bread tasted like it was homemade, and the sliced turkey wasn't lunchmeat - it was actual turkey slices. The strawberry habanero sauce was great - could've packed more heat for my tastes, but the sandwich was amazing overall. The also visited again today and ordered the breakfast tacos. I was surprised at how FULL the tacos were - and how much sausage and bacon they added. Definitely filled me up with two!! This is my new go-to for food downtown!

Let me start by saying the food is good. But the service and kitchen are way too slow and forgetful. I order their tacos which are big and delicious. But I am always aggravated when they forget to drop some salsa in the bag. Happens not infrequently. Then I order bacon, sausage, cheese, and eggs. It is inevitable that they forget to add all the ingredient. Just today I ordered all four but the kitchen failed to add the bacon. I paid for it, just didn't get it.And how long does it take to make a stupid taco? It took over 10 minutes for them to make one for me, and there was no one else there. I don't get it.So, tough rating to make. Good food in plenty of portions, but big fail in completing their obligation to provide what I paid for. Stupid way to lose customers. I'm too aggravated to write more. It is disappointing.

I almost don't want to write this review. I feel like once Downtown Austin catches on to the tastiness of Patika, there will be lines out the door. The newly opened breakfast/lunch cafe is hidden on the first floor of the 100 Congress building. I feel so bad for all those hungry folks waiting in long lines across the street at Fairgrounds when Patika is a stones throw away, and has way WAY waaaaay better food. Sausage apple cheddar biscuits, a variety of mind melting muffins, fresh and unique blends of food. A major shout out to the chef who prepared the Miso Salmon dish. The best salmon I have ever had in this city. I don't know how you got that tangy, honey crispness on that buttery fish or how the shishito peppers were grilled to perfection (everyone seems to mess those up), but YOU did it. I daydream about that dish. I would also like to mention that Patika has the best breakfast tacos in downtown Austin. I can not for the life of me understand why people go to taco deli to get a wimpy taco on a cold tortilla, when you could get a monster taco for the same price that's on 2 corn tortillas with melted cheese and has ingredients that are actually cooked and blended together, not scooped out of a trough. If you're looking for Patika, just come into the lobby of 100 Congress and follow your nose. I wish I had never wrote this. You guys are gonna eat all of my salmon.
