Papa Joe's Tex-Mex

The food was average. I was quite excited to try this place because of the great reviews, but nothing stood out. I appreciate they are a small business and definitely have patrons that like them because the phone was constantly ringing for to-go orders. The restaurant is small. Asked for a chicharron con huevo ala mexicana "crispy" taco and received a plate with soggy chicharrons and little flavor. Tortillas were not homemade. The breakfast potatoes were bland. The beans were bland. The barbacoa was okay, but still added salt. I don't know why places offer pico all the time instead of onions and cilantro. There's no decaf coffee offered. No fresh lemonade. Overall, will not be going back.

10/10. Love me some Papa Joes. There aren't a lot of places I can get an authentic machacado con huevo a la mexicana taco!! The staff are amazing. My gf loves their bacon egg and cheese. It's actually her favorite in the city. Didn't grab a pic. Single crispy bacon on perfectly cooked eggs. Definitely a staple place for us.

Nice small Mexican place with friendly staff! It has standard breakfast tacos, more breakfast options, and daily lunch specials, but the quality is average.The place itself has an odor, so it wasn't a very pleasant dine in experience.Would come back for some take out breakfast tacos next time maybe.

Very good food and service! The food was priced a little higher than I would expect but it was definitely worth it, especially for a local family owned business. Not to mention, the serving size is pretty filling.

I was visiting from Seattle and found this place after visiting Boggy Creek Farm. Boggy Creek was a little bit disappointing but Papa Joe's was super yummy. Should have ordered more and eaten on sight. Some tacos were a little soggy after driving 20 minutes to Pflugerville.

Very friendly neighborhood dining spot. Orders arrive quickly to your table and pricing is right for the meals. Glad I found it!

Best family-run spot in the neighborhood for that authentic Mexicano food and feelings. Makes me feel like I'm sitting down for a meal at my abuelas house. IYKYK

My favorite Pop and mom shop the barbacoa and menudo is the only one I get out of any restaurant in Austin. The travel is worth it at all cost!! Every time I go the customer service is fantastic.. the atmosphere is is so comfy. I love all there food it is so so good, go try it and you won't be disappointed !!!

It's a simple formula for a nice breakfast stop: great tacos, great coffee, great service. I'm happy and I'm sure I'll be back.
