Otherside Deli and Sub

Took my son there on this special day for he got his first State ID and we needed to try a Reuben sandwich.Found this gem and we both loved the sandwich and the vibe in the place.The staff was very friendly and provided great service for our first time.

I was nearby and wanted to get some food but had a bit of a time crunch. The hot subs seemed to be popular on Yelp but there was a small line and I knew I didn't have time for my primary choice so I went for something from their cold sub menu. I got the Italian sub-Ham, Capicola and Salami, a decent line up of meats and I saw that they had mac salad so I got that as well as a bag of chips and I got a black and white cookie just because.The sandwich was ok, the flavors were kind of weak and the bread was thin, breaking apart after a few bites. The mac salad was also under-seasoned and lot of salt and pepper. My bill was 24 bucks and for that I expected a little more.

I heard about this deli from a friend and was excited to try it with a lunch friend date! We both live on opposite sides of town so we're always looking to try to find new places to visit that are central. First of all, they have a great website so you can see the menu and get to know them before you visit. They also have ample parking in a parking lot, which is a plus for this part of town. This place is small, but it's the perfect retro atmosphere, with old movie posters and a bit of a nostalgia vibe. It's clean, cool, and the staff is warm and friendly. We easily ordered at the counter and food arrived very quickly. It was quiet enough that we could easily have conversation over lunch at the tables inside. The food was really good! I got a grilled cheese and my friend got The Italian. Both were excellent. Food was very reasonably priced, as well. We will be adding this to the lunch date rotation for sure!

Came by today because we were in the area and needed a quick bite.. while the restaurant was full we didn't have to wait long to order and our hot sandwiches came out within 5 minutes of ordering. The tables were all taken so we sat at the counter area by the window- the restaurant has about 8-10 tables plus other seating. The staff were very friendly and brought our food to us. I ordered the turkey club without mayo and it was very moist and the turkey was warm on toasted rye bread. Lettuce and tomato were fresh and the bacon was hot and crispy. My friend had the breaded chicken cutlet sandwich also with no mayo and hers was very hot, freshly cooked and juicy. Looking forward to coming back

Atmosphere and service here were great!The sandwhiches , were just okay. The bread was mostly disappointing as it felt cheap, was very thin and flimsy. If they improved the bread used it would be a much better sandwich and value sell.I had a half pastrami Rueben and half turkey club - the ingredients were good!I might not come back but happy others love the experience!Both halves were $16 in total

We walked in on Sunday morning as the first and only customer there. We stood there for a couple of minutes and nobody acknowledged our presence. We walked out without ordering and they then decided to speak saying "have a nice day". We also waited for the closed sign to be switched to open but went ahead and walked in anyway. We value good service and will not spend money on a business who doesn't give a simple hello or "welcome in". Some may think that we are being unreasonable but we feel that a business shouldn't ignore customers.

Decided to pick up Otherside for lunch so I placed an online order and went to the store to pick up. No complaints there - the process was super easy and my order was sitting at the front where I could just grab it and head out. I ordered a salami and cheddar sub + mayonnaise and the macaroni salad. Overall I thought the food was fine. I wish there was more mayo on my sandwich (or maybe I should've picked up some mayo packets if they had some) because some parts of it just lacked sauce. The mac salad felt refreshing after a heavier sandwich (at least in my opinion, I know there are a lot of heavier sandwiches on the menu). I guess for $12 I just expect to be more impressed than if I were to order a similar sandwich from a sandwich chain. Overall it wasn't bad but also wasn't great

Overall, it was a great quick and tasty lunch but I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back because it was a little overpriced for what you get.Pastrami & mustard on rye with turkey, lettuce, tomato, and onion (7/10) - solid sandwich! The mustard is the star of the show... some of the best mustard I've ever had! I feel like the amount of pastrami you get is less than impressive for a $14 sandwich. Both the pastrami and turkey were good but didn't blow me away with flavor. The bread was toasted perfectly and it stayed together pretty well which is always a plus!Macaroni salad (3/10) - ehhh, there wasn't much flavor to this at all... extremely basic and wouldn't order again.The food did come out quickly and the tables were all clean. I'm happy I tried it but it won't be on my list of places to frequent.

Service was great and food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be going back to try the Philly cheesesteak

I go to the Deli two three times a month from San Antonio for the experience and the food. The only thing missing is a coupke of Italians in the kitchen yelling bout this and that. Love love the food thanks guys.
