We were driving around looking for a place to eat and this little restaurant in the corner caught our attention. Once we saw the reviews we decided to stop by for lunch. It was pretty empty, only one other table occupied but it was late lunch. We were greeted right away and sat down instantly. The menu has a bit of everything. We had two lunch specials as well as other sides. The crab Rangoon were amazing! Our meals were brought out quick and fresh! The portions were huge! So much so we brought half home so we can eat for dinner later on. It was our first time there but it's definitely going to be a usual spot for us now

I can't understand why this has such great reviews. Everything we tried was a complete miss. The soups went uneaten and in the trash. The egg drop soup had no flavor and the texture was off-putting. I've never met a hot and sour soup I didn't like until now. It tasted like dirty dishwater! The Szechuan chicken had an odd aftertaste, fried rice was just okay, and General Tsao's chicken lacked flavor and tenderness. I'd keep writing this review to give more detail, but need to go take some Pepto from the mess I just ate.

How is this place receiving positive reviews? The restaurant looked dingy and the food was terrible. The three dishes we ordered failed on quality, taste, and freshness. The General Tso dishes weren't prepared traditionally, but just had a similar (not exact) sauce thrown on top. We were a little grossed out and threw away all of the dishes. We will never order carry out from this place again.

On the scale of takeout Chinese restaurants, Oriental Kitchen ranks pretty high! You're not getting gourmet food by any means but you get large portion sizes for the price, the wait isn't long, and the dishes are tasty!Oriental Kitchen is my go-to for ordering Chinese takeout on Christmas Eve... this was my third year in a row and I've had a great experience each time! I called to place my order around 6:45 pm and they had it ready for pick up in 25 minutes.FAST FACTS:* Parking: located in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking available in the lot in front of the building* Online ordering: available for pickup at the restaurant* Delivery: available through third-party (Grubhub, DoorDash, and Favor)* Closed on MondaysSERVICE - I've only ever ordered takeout but the workers taking my order over the phone and at the counter when I arrive have always been pleasant!PRICING - The total for a Triple Crown, General Tso's chicken, and an order of steamed veggie dumplings was $39.51 after tax. The portion sizes are huge so the pricing is very reasonable!STEAMED VEGGIE DUMPLING (7/10) - You get 8 dumplings in the order and it comes on a small bed of shredded cabbage with soy sauce for dipping. The dumplings were cooked well and were tasty... I'd order them again as a non-fried appetizer option!TRIPLE CROWN (8/10) - This is a great deal for what you get! It includes chicken, beef, and shrimp with assorted vegetables (zucchini, carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms) in a savory sauce with your choice of steamed, brown, or fried rice. The proteins were all cooked well and the veggies had a great texture... sometimes veggies in Chinese food are overcooked and mushy but these had a slight crunch to them which I loved! My only complaint is that there is a LOT of sauce so you have to fish out the meat and veggies.GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN (7/10) - This is a sweeter General Tso's.... there's no spice to it. The sauce coats the chicken pieces well but they aren't overly crispy and it would be better if it came with broccoli or another vegetable. But, it's a massive amount of chicken and also comes with your choice of steamed, brown, or fried rice.Oriental Kitchen is a great local option for Chinese takeout without breaking the bank! I'll continue to order for Christmas Eve in the years to come and hope the standard stays high for their food!

Overall we had a good experience here, and for what it is its good. Its your classic fast, affordable, tasty, down-and-dirty Chinese food restaurant! It features all the hits (general tsao chicken, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef) and had my favorite- Singapore noodles! Service was excellent- the gentleman working the counter was super nice and attentive. The ambiance is what you'd expect for this type of restaurant- this has almost a street food turned brick and mortar vibe. The food was tasty, came out quick, and came out hot! Food quality is also what you'd expect- very greasy, high sugar, but tasty- and the portions are BIG. (We came for dinner though I think their lunch is smaller portions)

For the Pflugerville area, this place is the best we've been served over the previous 5 years. Triple Crown w/ fried rice, vegetable lomein and fried calamari simply can't be beat! The prices are right as well. If anyone has a favorite Asian food place in Pflugerville or Hutto, Please let me know! LOL

I had their shrimp egg foo young and the shrimp fried rice, both were very delicious and they have the dark gravy/sauce which is my favorite. Highly recommended restaurant

Food I order is always good. I always order the same thing. Wait is never that long to pick up. I am not sure if the cashier is the owner, but he's always very polite and sweet. The wonton soup taste like bleach to me, but the rest of the food I order is not bad.
