The Onion Creek Grille inside the Southpark Hotel has just recently reopened. We were staying at the hotel for one night and didn't want to have to go far for dinner. A friend and I popped into the restaurant a little after 5pm and Juan informed us that a 20% discount was being offered because the establishment recently reopened. We looked at the menu and decided there was something for everyone and we'd be back later. We came back to the restaurant at 6:30 with our spouses. Aesthetically, the restaurant looks like the rest of the hotel. An establishment that looked amazing 20 years ago and was probably the place everyone wanted to go to for the good buffet. My husband thought it resembled a restaurant you might see in a casino. Juan, our waiter, let us choose our table. There was one other table of guests when we arrived. The guys in our party ordered a couple of beers and we ordered a couple of appetizers. The jalapeño poppers and chips & salsa. I ordered the shrimp tacos, pasta and cheeseburgers were also ordered. Main entrees at Onion Creek are completely overpriced. My shrimp tacos arrived in a plastic burger basket and the shrimp was definitely frozen from a bag. I think the 3 tacos and a side of black beans was $17. Tacos were just lukewarm when they arrived. The cheeseburgers looked way more appetizing, though. Pasta looked so-so. We all ate our food, but we were very hungry. Condiments arrived in packets and one person in our group never received the side of ranch he wanted. It think they're so new to reopening that they don't even have bottles of condiments right now. Really wish they had a dessert option so I could have washed everything down.Juan was a very good waiter, so the restaurant has a lot going for itself there. By the time we left I think he had or was serving 4 other tables by himself. Lots of room for improvement here, but not a bad option if you're staying in the hotel.

This is supposed to be chicken and mixed greens with black beans, roasted corn, pico, cojita cheese, avocado, and cilantro lime dressing. $15. No corn. No avocado. No mixed greens. The name of the meal is Southwest chicken and greens.

First night in Austin. Late checkin. Didn't want to head out. Ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. Requested window seating. Nice views of the 35... We started sharing sautéed Brussels sprouts with balsamic reduction, cashews and yellow raisins. Very tasty. My bride ordered crab cakes and tomato basil soup, both appetizers, for her entree. Double thick pork chop for me. All beautifully prepared and very tasty. In for the penny, we got banana bread pudding for desert. Again, well prepared and tasty. Wait staff was relaxed, efficient and friendly. Going in, our expectations weren't high, but we were pleasantly surprised. Good job!

The pasta bar at the Onion Creek Grille is one of the best kept lunch secrets among office workers in the area. Back when I used to work in this neighborhood I used to frequent this place, and today it's still the same chef behind the counter, the same pasta and sauce and veggies and proteins. Little has changed in 15+ years and that's a good thing. I personally like the spiral pasta with a mix of their spicy cajun sauce and the pesto with lots of veggies. Too bad they only have this Monday through Friday. It's still worth the drive on a weekday.

Didn't get a chance to eat here because of the horrible attitudes of the staffFinally sat down and the service was horrible. I always stay at the Omni attached to this place and will definitely rethink even staying there.

We had breakfast at Onion Creek Grille while staying at the hotel. Instead of getting food from the bar, we ordered off the menu.We enjoyed the:- Avocado Toast- Pancakes- Huevos RancherosEverything was delicious and the dining room was full of families. We will probably have dinner or breakfast here on our next visit to Austin.

Potatoes and toast were perfect. Eggs over easy were cooked too long and stake was raw.
