Restaurant is decorated very nicely and all staff members were super nice! I love that you can sub any chicken dish with crispy tofu!! Great options for all diet types.Parking is on the backside of the restaurant. They have a QR code at the hostess stand to validate parking so scan that first !!! Brisket fried rice 4/5 little dry/over cooked. Decent amount of brisket. Brisket was tender and good pieces.Green beans 5/5 : cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Probably my favorite thing I ate. Good portion for 2 peopleHoney pecan shrimp 3/5 : shrimp could have been tossed in the mayo sauce more. Kind felt like they dolloped the mayo on top of the fried shrimp. Kung pao chicken 3/5: nothing memorable about itMala tofu : this on the menu is Mala chicken but we decided to sub as a tofu dish. fried tofu and dusted with chili powder. Beef and broccoli : 4/5 meat cuts were tender

I'm giving 1star because I have to, to post a review !!I absolutely don't recommend this place for your special day!!We used to go to burnet location often, but this was the first time for this location as the other one is closed!!My son wanted to go to old thousand for his birthday dinner, so I mailed them about it and specified it would be 7adults and a toddler, they replied promptly and we went there few mins early, and checked in with Alex(I think her name is), she talks like a robot, uses nice words but her body language doesn't match those words and she gave me this cold shoulder but was nice with other customers and I don't even know the reason, and when they gave us a table, it was one of those standing tables/pub gathering tables with bar chairs and they say that's the only thing they can do, so we couldn't use the high chair as it was tooooo lower than our table, so toddler throws tantrum, as he's not able to see us, and it's very uncomfortable so we had to hold him, and that became chaotic, I agree if this happens when we walk in or do reservations on those booking sites, but not when I mailed them twice about how many of them we were, specifically because we had a toddler and because it was a birthday dinner. Our host was nice, but we asked her to bring all the food at the same time but I got my noodles almost when everyone were done with their dinner, I understand they were busy and ours was a bit big group, I wouldn't have minded it was few mins late, but this was too late, the taste of the food was good, as it used to be in there other location, no complaint there, their mocktails are a total ripoff, my son dint get his soda until he finished his dinner, so I mentioned that to our host, and asked her to cancel it, but then Alex bought the soda, I told we're already done eating, so we won't be needing it, but she still left it on our table saying she'll take that one off, before I say we still don't need it, she just stormed off, and we paid for it!!

Update!I came in tonight after a long hiatus and the hostess greeted us very quickly and was a very warm hearted person. I believe their name was Macarena? (Sp) regardless I knew the night was going to be great considering it looked packed and Macarena seated us at the busy bar. They recommended The Business and darn do they have a palette! Delicious and they could work the bar if they work as hard as they do at being the host one day!Fast forward and the bartender named Harrison slung some drinks that would command men to battle. Proper pours and attention to detail on the cocktails.Xiao Mian and some mala chicken square up the meal with those tasty Rangoon!!! OMGSo to the management a few thoughts; consider Macarena as a barmaid since they are going places, Perhaps have them sing more - great vocals, and keep doing what you guys do best!!!Dope ass Chinese at its finest!

I was so so impressed! It was pretty decor inside, clean, and darker lighting vibes. Music was a little loud/distracting and overwhelming which was the most glaring need for improvement. The food was incredible. The portions were great for sharing, and the six of us did mostly family style. The spicy chicken dumplings left something to be desired but every other dish was incredible. Smoked lo mein was unique and so flavorful, a huge highlight for all of us. The chicken dishes were so tasty and I was really impressed. I loved how many chicken options there which made me happy, and so amazing that tofu could be subbed for any chicken dish. The tofu in every dish was so tasty and texture was phenomenal. I like tofu, but chicken is always my first choice. But this was the first time in my LIFE that tofu was so incredible that it was INTERCHANGEABLE with the chicken, I was blown away. Soup was tasty, and desserts were really solid too, shout out to the donuts!! I loved this meal, one of the best experiences I've had in a long time in Austin. Also shout out how the service was incredible, food was great portions and high quality, BUT unlike many places the prices were completely reasonable and they weren't slapping on huge charges just because they're in austin and feel like they can. Big big props

Visited here for the first time and had an amazing experience. It's a small restaurant with little seating but they do take reservations. I loved my margarita and we got the sangria that was beautiful. I enjoyed the Rangoon appetizer, it was spicy and had a great sauce. The chicken and brisket fried rice were fresh. Our server was helpful and overall it wasn't super loud in the restaurant. I can't wait to come back!

Best Chinese fusion food in Austin! Every time I'm here, the servers and staff are super nice, food is delicious, and music/vibe is great. I've brought many friends and out of town guests here and each time , we all leave full and happy. The Brussels and Kung Pao chicken are amazinggg but you can't go wrong with anything here. Also they have everyday happy hour 5-7pm that I haven't checked out yet but can't wait to. There's a parking lot in the back that they validate for 2 hours but I always find a parallel spot nearby.

I love how many vegan options they have. I've been twice, once for a regular menu and once for Restaurant Week. The drinks are tasty and the food is very flavorful. The restaurant had good music as well. The staff has been knowledgeable and friendly, although both times I wished they would check in more often when we needed things. They validate parking for two hours in the lot behind the building, but plenty of free street parking is available in the nearby neighborhood.

I really love coming here with friends. It's always a good place to do a celebration of some sort. The food is always so good and I love that. It's mostly family style. Try a little bit of everything. That's what we typically do and love every moment of it.The service is really solid. Never left waiting or wanting. Even when we bring in a big party, we are met with a smile.

I feel so lucky to live in the same neighborhood as Old Thousand. Literally a five-minute walk for me to experience all the goodness they have to offer. The food is made with love and care, I mean it's so obvious from the first bite to the last.Everyone is so nice and welcoming. It's genuine and they make you feel like family. The decor and restaurant design are simply perfect.Know what else is amazing? Every single day during the summer 5-7 pm they offer $10 meals.I wish I could give ten stars!!

Came here with my girlfriends for their happy hour and the staff was very accommodating and nice. They kept on checking in on us to make sure we had the best experience. We decided to go family style and share all our dishes. Everything tasted fresh and well flavored. My favorite dish was probably the kungpao chicken and brisket fried rice. Nothing was greasy which was good. There was a good amount of chicken in the dish! If we're talking about authenticity? Not quite...it wasn't super authentic but it's a good spot if you want americanized chinese food in a dimly lit up restaurant. My friends really enjoyed the dessert. We got the five spice donuts which came with pandan sauce. It was unique and a good portion size to share!
