Inspired. Bucket listNot to be missed. Unique with a spark of ingenuity. Here I sit with my Love. It's unexpected to be sitting here at Odd Duck. It's been on my bucket list. The freezing weather cracked open an opportunity to slip into this eclectic vibe of a restaurant. Ordered the cornbread to start. Okayyyyyyyy. Delicious ! Generous butter melts into everyone's dream of what cornbread can be.Next is a dish called broccoli and chicken skins. Expect a salad that has those important components of acid, sweet, crunchy. Loved. Then, capellini. Looks bland. I was worried. One of the best pastas I ever had. Rich and luscious a fun share for sure. Flavor rich. We've ordered the quail. It's succulent in a wonderful sauce. I will order this again The cocktails are perfect! So perfect!! This place offers a bespoke experience. I will consider it one of the finest meals I've ever had. Laid back vibes and impact recipes are my visions of perfect dining. Can't wait to share this with you all, dear readers !!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Austin! Definitely worth visiting and all dishes here were great. I'm not even a fan of cornbread but it was my favorite dish here. The goat pizza was also phenomenal, as well as the steak and duck fat potatoes.Ambiance of the restaurant is also great; cute place with lots of seating, but not too much noise. Complimentary valet is also nice and takes away the stress of parking downtown

3.5 Stars - Small, expensive plate place in a cute environment. I may be slightly biased as I am not a small, expensive, share plate person lol. Hence, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with wonderful company but it's not a go-to for me.We caught the tail end of happy hour on a Wednesday so some of the dishes below were 25% off.The drinks are solid - we had the Paloma ($9 on HH) and Frozen Margarita ($15).Food we sampled - Recommend:Cornbread ($12) - buttery heaven. Can you go wrong with warm, moist cornbread with a heap of butter on top?Pork Slider ($8, HH only) - generous, rich and succulent. Amazing. Large, fatty pieces of pork belly. This needs to be on the regular menu! Not too bad:Fried Broccoli and Chicken Skins ($15) - unique and tasty, lots of mayo sauce.Snapper Crudo ($20) - pretty presentation.Meh:Cappellini ($24) - Very rich and creamy, way too salty. Needed some acidity to lift the richness.Wagyu ($48) - fine but not really worth the price. The crispy mashed potato tots are yummy. Sauce was too salty. Are restaurants just slapping Wagyu on every steak dish now? lol.Staff is attentive and wonderful.

5 stars for the Wagyu burger alone. The burger was magnificent. Perfectly cooked, thick Wagyu patty nestled gently between two soft brioche buns, with a dollop of onion jam and a thick breaded, melting chunk of beer cheese. It's messy and oh so delicious. The rest of our menu items were also good in particular the Snapper crudo and the skillet cornbread. We also really enjoyed the Wagyu strip with the homemade tater tots and brown butter queso. Delectable! They do an amazing job of remaining true to the core dish yet injecting new flavors to elevate the taste. Kudos The staff were simply wonderful. Friendly, professional and very helpful with recommendations.

A cozy spot right off of busy S. Lamar, serving up farm to table goods, tasty cocktails, and delicious desserts. A great happy hour deal is offered Sun.-Thurs. from 4:30-5:30pm! Service is casual but attentive and nice. Definitely recommend making a reservation! Overall, we enjoyed everything we ordered and I will definitely revisit!QUICK FACTS:- Parking? Complimentary valet is offered or there is ample street parking nearby.- Reservations? Yes, recommended. The restaurant is small and has interior, patio, bar, and covered patio area.- Happy hour? Yes, Sun.-Thurs., 4:30-5:30pm. 25% off select food items and discounted drinks.FOOD RATINGS:- Ceviche (5/5): Portion was a little small for the price, but the flavor was incredible. The potato chip was perfect and the flavor was fresh and citrus-y. We got it during happy hour so that was worth it!- Pork belly slider (4/5): Loved this. We shared 1 for $8. A bit messy to eat, but great flavor and I loved the pickled okra on top.- Capellini (3/5): Probably the least impressive dish we ordered, but still good nonetheless. The chorizo and mushrooms were tasty, but it was relatively bland compared to everything else.- Wagyu strip (4/5): Loved the house made tater tots! So good with the brown butter queso sauce. Steak was cooked nicely and this was a great dish!- Apple crisp (5/5): Beautiful and tasted as expected. Warm and cinnamon-y with a nice tarragon ice cream. Perfect ending to the meal!

Truly a spot worthy of 5 stars. Came to Odd Duck NYE night with a large group. Given that we were 8 people, we had a prearranged prefix menu consisting of 9 items. We started with some cocktails and let me tell you - every single one we ordered was phenomenal. I don't remember the names, but the pisco based one and the herbal one were probably my favorite. The waiter even suggested an off-menu coffee cocktail that was a huge hit. Speaking of our waiter - he was funny, charismatic, attentive, and had some great suggestions - we loved him!As for the food, every single thing we tried was delicious. Personal highlights include the wagyu steak and ceviche. The pear sorbet was such a hit, as was the tres leche! I feel like you can't go wrong with anything you order. We had a pescatarian friend, and the restaurant had prepared separate (v tasty) dishes for him for the meat courses, love that!!! Overall 5/5, we are still raving about our night. Odd Duck was an Austin highlight for me, and I cannot recommend it more!

I visited Odd Duck for the first time to celebrate an anniversary, and it was quite pleasant. I usually do my research beforehand, and I have to agree with other reviewers--the cornbread is a must, and the wagyu burger is juicy, with the perfect tang from the pickled cabbage. Might be a personal preference, but the quail was too salty for me. Otherwise, the vibe is stylish yet laid-back, the cocktails are solid, and the service is decent. It's a bit pricey, so absolutely worth it for a special night out!

What a treat it was to come to odd duck! We walked in at 4:45p and were seated right away. Since we didn't have a reservation, the receptionist was kind to let us take an empty table until the 6:30p reservation. There was three of us, so we got a few things: corn bread, ceviche, goat cheese pizza, and the stuffed quail. Corn bread: my personal favorite from the meal! It was such a unique flavor, both sweet and had a nice kick. The kimchi butter was savory and balanced it out very well. Ceviche: this dish came recommended to us by our waiter. The fish was fresh and she recommend us to crush the chips in. It was delicious and fresh, just wish there was a bigger portion size since it was gone in literally 3 bites. Pizza: this was the most "ok" dish of our spread. It didn't look too appetizing and the sauce on the pizza had a nice kick. It just looked kind of sad, taste was good but nothing special. I'd skip this Stuffed quail: this is a small bird, maybe the size of two of my fists. We were pleasantly surprised by the dish, since we had no expectations! The meat was tender and the stuffing was flavorful -- together, it was a good combo of flavor.

Enjoyed an incredible meal all around, each creative dish was an unexpected flavor bomb. The food is served tapas style - small plates to share - served one dish at a time at the perfect pace. Nice selection of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. We ordered Texas pickles (forgot to take a pic), ceviche, fried chicken giblets, cornbread, butternut squash, summer squash salad, stuffed quail, braised goat pizza, and blackened redfish. My favorite items were the bright ceviche with the thinnest purple chips, cornbread with decadent muhammara butter, and redfish with creamy eggplant puree - I practically licked the plate clean. I also enjoyed my "on melancholy hill" gin cocktail. At first glance, the menu descriptions didn't overly excite me, but I love a good farm to table restaurant. The meal was a refreshing break from the heavy Texas BBQ and southern food we had been eating all weekend. This restaurant has something for everyone, and was a great last dinner with friends in Austin. P.S. make a reservation!
