WOW WOW WOW!!! This is the best meal I've had in Austin! Loved everything about this restaurant. The decor is very chic with such a cool vibe. The seating is so comfy with pillows. There is a free parking lot behind the restaurant. Our server, Gary, was absolutely amazing!!! He was very attentive, friendly, funny and so much FUN! This is what we ordered...Guacamole - served with tostada chips. The guac was tangy and yummy.Tuna Crudo - this was an explosion of flavor in your mouth. It was sweet from the strawberries and oh so delicious. Tuna Tostada - also so incredibly flavorful. This was one of my faves. Duck Panucho - this was pretty heartyCamarones - the shrimp had a tangy flavor with the mangoes. Seemed a bit overcooked and dry. Lubina Pohchuc - the sea bass was super yummy as well. Dulce de leche flan - the dessert was not too sweet and just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. Highly recommend!!! I'm definitely coming back here next time I'm in town!

I shamefully admit it: I am not a bread-person. I have been battered into submission by the messaging of the nineties about carbohydrates and almost always forgo the bread at the beginning of the meal. HOWEVER, I had to try the coconut bread that showed up on the table, puffier than the Michelin Man and smelling like a a sweet, savory, yeasty treat. BOY HOWDY, I had to toss my anti-bread-person ID card in the bin after one bite of that thing. I could have eaten two orders of that alone and still given the five-star review. I didn't do that though, because everything on the happy hour menu was ordered and I was doing everything I could to keep myself from licking the plates. The scallops were out of this world, the salsas were fresh, tangy, spicy and devoured. In between bites I took the time to look around the restaurant which was beautiful. Even though it is on Lamar, they've put up curtains and walls that make the outdoor seating a peaceful oasis removed from the road-noise.I can't wait to get back there!

Pro Tip: A perfect place for hosting an event. What you can expect: GLUTEN-FREE * SEED OIL FREE * OPEN FIRE COOKING * AGAVE SPIRITS.Wow! What an amazing experience that not only tastes like you're living on the mexican beaches of the Yucatan, but also FEELS like you're away on am adventure. An exceptional job on design, paired with great service and, of course, a wide variety of flavors and foods that will, for sure, satisfy your taste buds. I think it will be hard to go wrong with any of their choices (I was fortunate to experience a wide selection, buffet and catering-style). Two standouts were the Duck Panucho (food) and the Kukulkán (drink). Will absolutely be returning!

An all-around "fancy" experience for Mexican-fusion cuisine that is also vegetarian and vegan-friendly!Reservations are an absolute must if you visit on the weekend, and we were lucky to get indoor seating at 8pm on a Friday night, even if it was at the bar. I appreciate the dedicated vegetarian menu and there were so many interesting things to choose from! I ended up going with the Camote Asado, which was a sweet potato dish that was laid atop a bed of roasted corn. On the side, was a corn-based roll-up (not sure what the proper term is lol) that had cheese crumbles and a white sauce on top. It was an appropriate amount of food that didn't leave me feeling too full! The dessert menu also looked mouthwatering, but will have to save that for next time when I have a more voracious appetite. I definitely want to go back to try their brunch menu!

I've been wanting to try Nomade all year, and wow did it not disappoint. We were sitting at dinner and just thinking how amazing Austin is and the incredible food scene. So when you walk into Nomade you will immediately be blown away by the decor & vibe - definitely that Quintana Roo feel to it with a kinda neutral color palate with light wood tones. Both inside & outside seem like nice places for a meal but we went outside (there are two areas outside and both really cool in their own ways).Great server and he was actually really new but was so well versed on the menu and view that as a good indicator as to how the restaurant is run.As you would imagine the standout is the food - it was bonkers. Server suggested the price fix menu and it was a great idea. The other thing I will say is this might be some of the (if not *the*) best presented food I've ever seen in my life. However, while the server did talk about how the chef views each item, he did not realize how dumb I am (and a diet of basically food trucks, P.Terry's and taco deli), i tried some of the sea salt that the scallop and shell was bedded on. wowsa. Anyway, check out the photos - this is one of those places we instantly raved about to friends and family and felt kinda cool for going out on South First street.Absolutely great value for the type of experience you get.

Nice selection of agave based spirits and cocktails. Plates are meant to be shared. We started off with the guacamole, which was very fresh and interesting touch with fennel added. Next we had the Hamachi Crudo, which had a tasty lime foam. We tried the Camarones/shrimp, which were grilled and served with lots of pickled onions. The sauce on this dish was very tasty, but unfortunately, the shrimp was not as fresh as I would have hoped. Finally tried the pork main which was excellent and filling. we ran out of room for dessert, but I definitely want to come back to try the churros and Tres leches. our server, Enzo was very friendly and attentive. Great pace on service.

So up until tonight I had only been for a drink in the bar. WOW was I blown away by the waygu tacos, the pork belly, and the hamachi ceviche was on point! And then the chicken, enmoladas verdes, and the tres leches are absolutely the best in town by far. All of it gluten free which was a bonus. Truly superb date night ambience. Their service was a super friendly experience with the whole team taking care of our table of 8. This place is absolute fire.

Fun atmosphere - we came on a very chilly night and the outdoor seating was comfortable and well-heated. Our server suggested splitting 1-2 dishes per category which made for a fun meal of small plates. We ordered the ensalade with beets, which was quite tasty as a starter. For crudos, we ordered the hamache ceviche and tuna tostada. The hamache ceviche was a standout as it was surrounded by a mezcal lime espuma/foam. For larger dishes, we split the grilled octopus and the tempura de pescado. These were the least interesting to me, but still presented beautifully. Overall, a fun spot for tasting and sharing among a group.

Well, where to start. For starters, everything was excellent: atmosphere, service & the food. Walking in you'll definitely get Tulum vibes and the environment is casual & chill but still chic & trendy. The food, though, is the real star. The ceviches & crudos were the absolute standouts. The scallop crudo atop leche de Tigre took me back to Peru. The tuna crudo, served in an adorable tiny coconut, was packed with flavor. The mezcal foam was a nice touch to the hamachi crudo, balancing the bitterness extremely well. For dessert, we split the gluten free tres leches and WOW. Likely a top 10 dessert I've had in the past year and just an awesome bonus that it also happens to be gluten free. Our server, Aaron I believe his name was, was on point and always on top of ordering without hovering. Overall, an excellent experience experience and will be back very soon!

THE BIG: Located in South Austin on S 1st street and W Monroe. Walking in, you are teleported to a bohemian tulum resort. It's quite nice. Indoor/outdoor seating available. Small private lot in the back, otherwise street parking is available.THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here for Austin Restaurant week which had 4 courses for $60. We made a reservation ahead of time but they accept walk-ins as well. For food, we started off with the raw which we selected the scallop crudo and tuna tostada. The scallop crudo was delicious and paired very well with the leche de tigre sauce. The appetizer, we got the panucho, aka a pibil tostada and the camarones. The camarones was awesome and everything was flame grilled. Our mains included the wagyu bistec and the grilled branzino. Let me tell you, that branzino was fire. So much flavor with the Carribean coconut curry. And finally the sweets were the mango passion sorbet and the coconut flan. All dairy free, which was music to my ears!THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done was around $130. Expect small plates (not only for Austin restaurant week), but a great spot to have nice yucatan cuisine.
