Enjoyed our dinner at Moonshine tonight. The restaurant is very cozy in decor, soft lighting and some fires going on a cool night. For those of us they are challenged reading menus in low light, definitely recommend that phone lamp it's a little dark at some tables. We had a booth and it was cozy and spacious. Our server was a bit busy when we first arrived so it was a bit before we could order, but he did make sure we had waters while we read the menu.We started with the fried green tomatoes, they were nice and ripe and we enjoyed the pimento sauce. The chicken and waffles were good, nice and fluffy waffle and flavorful chicken. The chicken almondine was wonderful, chicken cooked just right, and the potatoes were great. We enjoyed the bread pudding it was a large portion and the ice cream was yummy. The expresso brownie stole the show! It was decadent but not overly sweet.Overall great experience.

My friend swears by this place and it was the first place he took me when I showed up to Austin and let me just say I was not disappointed. It's an adorable restaurant that has indoor and outdoor seating and the ambience is absolutely riveting. They have got a lot of options on the menu so there is something for everyone. The complementary popcorn is actually pretty good to despite it just being popcorn, but it's seasoned very well.We did show up about one hour before they were closing, so the place was pretty empty, but they were very accommodating. The service was good and our waitress was very patient and made some pretty good recommendations. I did want to try a little bit of a lot so he did end up ordering three appetizers an entrée and a dessert. Do not sleep on the fried tomatoes, it's a hit and it does have a sprinkle of shrimp on there as well, which is so good. I love brussels sprouts in this one definitely did not disappoint. Additionally our server recommended the corn dogs, but instead of the beef it was shrimp - I would say skip out on this. The shrimp was pretty fishy and chewy and we did not enjoy it at all. However, our waitress was very accommodating and offered us free dessert. For the entrée, we order the Salisbury steak and it was flavored very well with a bit of mashed potatoes. As this place is called moonshine, it's pretty obvious that you should definitely order some moonshine, if you don't know what to pick. I recommend the flight which comes with four choices from the bar. The strawberry was surprisingly the worst in the marshmallow was the best.Overall, I do recommend this place is they've got great comfort food and the service is good. My review is as follows:- Food: 3.5/5- Service: 5/5- Ambiance: 5/5

Went here with a coworker on a work trip because it was walking distance from our hotel and really lucked out because it was delicious! We were seated promptly and our server was extremely friendly. We had a hard time picking out an appetizer and I'm so happy he recommended the fried green tomatoes because they were one of my favorite things I've eaten recently! A must order. My chicken sandwich and sprouts were also delicious. I know I'd be a regular here if I lived in the area!

We had the Sunday brunch here for the first time, we were meeting with some friends who had never been here before so it was new for all of us in one way or another. The staff was great as always, we had some great drinks including a peppermint martini and there was a huge array of food in the buffet. From Migas to Mashed potato's, Fruits and veggies. Sausage, Ham, 3 kinds of gravy, kolaches, French toast, cinnamon rolls, cookies, eggs. About the only thing missing weirdly was bacon.Still the set up was good, the food was great and the drinks were amazing. The place was packed but they handled it well and it ran smoothly. It is a bit pricey so we can't come often but it has never disappointed when we do make it here. Glad we got to try the brunch.

This is place has such a cool look and ambiance inside and outside too! Great for date night, girls brunch or just relaxing lunch. Tons of seating, didn't realize how big this place was. Good for big events too. Very cosy for the winter time as they have both indoor and outdoor fires going. Quick brunch note: the "big brunch" Buffett is on Sundays. We thought it was both days and Saturday apparently has half menu for brunch options. There still were several options for brunch and they had 3 separate menus, so a lot to chose from. Our waiter was very patient with me, as I really didn't know what order with so many options. He gave great advice. He also said he has been working here for many years so that's always a good sign with employee retention like that. Anyhoo, the food: note, uou can def share these plates, as portions are large with whatever you order. First, you get served popcorn when seated instead of chips, etc. Popcorn is seasoned with like a Tex-joy or something and is really good, not just plain butter. The fried green tomatoes were excellent and I normally do not care for tomatoes. The sauce on top was delish with a hint of spicy and still retaining their crispness. The French toast was pretty good with homemade cool whip and not too sweet. I only ate about half of the chicken fried chicken sandwich... it was a lot of food. It comes with gravy and hot honey. The biscuit is like the flakey flat kind, not the fluffy kind. They currently have a sweet potato's hash but to me it's more like breakfast potatoes but sweet potato form. I personally wish they had the sweet potato tots back. The ranch like sauce for dipping was soo good! Fun fact; their bathroom area is kinda fancy and cool too. Will be coming back to try dinner and the big brunch!

Dinner with friends and it was fantastic! Love the decor, atmosphere and the food was terrific. The popcorn adds a nice twist as an opening attraction of whats to come. The fried green tomatoes were probably the best I have ever eaten. Would have been a tad better with a bit more aioli. The chicken fried steak took up the whole plate and it was all meat, the peel on red skinned mashed potatoes were the creamiest I have ever had with the peelings still on. Obviously, they offer Moonshine and we tried the apple pie moonshine, it was good but not as good as my Uncle Davids! Lol The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars was because our wait for a table was to be 10-15 minutes. It was 30 and they sat us at a table that had been empty the entire time. Our waiter only had 2 other tables so we were a little frustrated.

This place was so good. We normally are creatures of habit's and go to the same place. So glad we finally made it here! The food the food was amazing. We came at happy hour, so we had to try something on the menu Old fashion was very well made, and there bourbon slush. Ordering was so hard, wanted to try a few of the appetizers then come back something a different time.entrée. Ordered the brisket burnt quesadilla, and split the meatloaf sandwich. Seriously the meatloaf sandwich was AMAZING, with the fries. Our server Mary was very helpful and very attentive to us. I very much appreciated that! The atmosphere in the restaurant was great they were busy, outside on the patio and throughout the restaurant it wasn't loud at all.We will definitely be back to try the brunch out.

Outstanding venue. The whiskey selection was beyond good... Wonderful variety.Food menu has lots of options... Our table had chicken, trout, ribs, and the good old reliable chicken fried steak. Everyone committed the food was exceptional. The servers did a nice team approach... But our primary server - Will did an excellent job. He was attentive, interactive, and put up with some very difficult people at our table. He did comment he had had worse But was still very professional throughout. Great night out and look forward to our next visit to explore more of the wonderful Whiskey options

Absolutely! Here's a Yelp-style review for Moonshine Grill based on your experience:Business: Moonshine Patio Bar & GrillStar Rating: 5 starsThe Review: Moonshine Grill is my go-to spot for an elevated dining experience without being too stuffy. The food is absolutely fantastic - we tried their world-famous chicken fried steak, Creole shrimp & grits, and the hanger steak, and every dish was bursting with flavor. Anthony, our server, was amazing; he went above and beyond to make our meal special, even suggesting the delicious street corn queso (a must-try!). Don't leave without ordering the cat head biscuits to go - they're perfect for breakfast the next day. Moonshine Grill never disappoints, and it's always a treat to dine there!
