Monks Jazz Club

I was invited by a friend to join her table to listen to our friend Sarah Sharp do a live stream at this very cool listening room! It was the first time I'd ever been to Monks and I look forward to going back again. The venue is cozy and intimate with great acoustics. It is BYOB but they have cups and a wine opener. They sell sparkling and still water bottles. Best to arrive early if you want to park in their small lot vs. on the street.

Monks is a total gem in east Austin. They have an intimate setting to watch live jazz music. I'm always happy leaving this place. BYOB which is awesome! They do have seltzer water for purchase as well if you need something to drink.

Great little spot to hear good jazz music. Owner always welcomes you and also lets you know it's a taping room so best to be quiet. They let you BYOB and offer cups if you need some. The only downside is that some of the chairs are so uncomfortable- the stools used to be so we got a table this time- glad to see the stools got replaced.. look forward to when all the seats make one want to stay all night. 5 star music 3 star comfort

Great listening room for authentic experience. Intimate, small venue with excellent sound quality and a BYOB policy, making it easy to pay for a ticket. My only complaint is the chairs. I was shifting uncomfortably an hour in, and hope they'll improve

What a spectacular performance tonight! We saw Aaron Parks Trio and they were delightful. I love seeing musicians letting loose and really being present as they groove. Also, great little venue-- charming and intimate. Definitely my kind of scene and I would recommend to any jazz enthusiast or jazz curious folk.

What a cute little spot for a casual night. I attended a comedy show and it was a great experience. The venue is basically a converted garage. It was dark and intimate. The event was BYOB and I brought in a bottle of wine no issues. The venue had complimentary water and drinks, how thoughtful is that! It did get pretty hot by the end of the show but that's my only complaint. I def want to come back for the music. Perfect for a date.

It's a very intimate venue with great acoustics. Would have loved a bigger drink menu with some adult beverages, but the Jazz more than made up for it. My wife and I had a great time! Can't wait to go again.

BYOB Jazz listening room. Super intimate and perfect for true Jazz fans. Only drawback is bathroom situation...it's across the parking lot.

Cool, intimate place located in an old brick building with nice acoustics! You can purchase your tickets on line and pick your seating in advance. The restrooms are across the parking area as you exit the building. (regular restrooms, not port o potties) Being BYO, we were able to share some of our nice wines with friends and enjoy Jeff Lofton Quartet. When I say enjoy...I mean it! There were no annoying talkers, cell phone raising video takers or selfie makers! It was a room of people enjoying music. Afterwards, we were able to visit and hang out a bit. What a great night!
